《The Battle Mage》Siren

The ship was so old and run-down that it can barely stay afloat, is this Peter's ship? I carefully entered the ship to look for clues and surprisingly I found a travel log. It was old and you could barely see the writing
"October 16 XXXX -I've found a weird shrine on this island, it's location was on a gjkdsjgsflk withing the mountain, I've never really checked inside but it had something that kept all the monsters at bay... more like they were afraid of getting near that place... anyway, this place is giving me the creeps I need to get out as soon as possible"
That was the end of the log so I closed the shipping log and hid it in my magical pouch. I continued searching but found nothing so I left the boat and started walking back to camp since it was getting dark.
"Found something captain?" Clay asked since he was on guard duty he was the first one to see me return
"Yea, but it's only a shipping log" I replied while I showed Clay the old book
"Is it alright if I look at it?"
"Go ahead"
I walked to the campfire while Clay read the book with one hand while the other was holding a glowstone.
"This is all that was there?" Rivera looked at the book, we were currently sitting around the campfire while the book was being passed around for each people to read
"Unfortunately, yes" It was weird the ship should at least have furnitures but there weren't any, it was like the ship was looted clean
"This is weird" Mira spoke as she started pondering
"We're here to investigate the island though" Clay spoke as he started eating his roasted fish
"Yeah, that's right, however, don't you find it weird that someone told how Peter died like someone was actually there?" I replied It was like those news I keep seeing in my previous life 'A kid died after he masturbated 45 times!' those news, I mean how the hell did they it was 45? were they counting it?
"If Peter was to sail in search of treasure, naturally he would have a crew with him right?" Clay replied as he sprinkled salt on the fish
"Obviously but the ship was there and the small boat used for escape was still attached to the ship, then there's also the attack of the Nagas. If the story was true then..." I stopped there because I felt danger behind my back so I quickly did a front roll and looked at the spot where I previously sat, there were arrows there.

Everyone saw what happened and quickly became vigilant. I scanned around but it looks like the attackers were gone, it was only a warning.
"Tch, what the hell was that?! fucking cowards" Clay kept cursing
"Calm down, let's think about this thoroughly" I calmed everyone down
"But captain those assholes are taking it too far!" Clay retorted
"Yeah, We should just beat up those arrogant fools" Rivera also chimed in
"Who are you guys pertaining to?" I asked them
"The Knight Academy, and Religion of Light" Rivera quickly replied
"I don't think it's them, remember how arrogant those people are? they kept flaunting their equipment the entire time. None of them were using a bow so I highly doubt that the Knight Academy did this. The Religion of light that we saw wore robes so I think they're a party that was composed of priests..." I speculated I'm not really sure why but my guts kept telling me that this is not the work of those people...
"Then... who do you think did it?" Rivera asked
"Shrine... A shrine is used for what?" I asked Rivera since she was an aspiring priestess
"To worship spirits within that area" She quickly replied
"The spirit...what if the spirit is evil?" Mira asked, looks like we were both thinking of the same thing
"Then...we're dealing with a cult!" Rivera shouted out
"What do we do?"Clay quickly asked
"I can't risk any of your lives, use the communication stone they gave us and report it" I quickly requested Mira
"This... this is bad..." Mira kept activating the communication stone but nothing was happening
"Captain! look!" Talia pointed at the shore, it seemed like a thick mist had started to form around the island
"Crap! Pack everything now, we're moving!" If I'm not mistaken then those thick mist must have got something to do with the malfunctioning of the communication stone... there's also the warning shot from earlier, why didn't they attack? do they have another objective in mind? I have no time to think about this, I have to move everyone to a safe place since they discovered us
"Captain, where are we going?" Clay asked
"Let's go back to the shore, those assholes know their way around this island so if we were to go into the forest then it's equivalent to going into their house... if we were at the shore at least they'll have to come out of the forest if they were to attack us" This is all I can think of right now

We quickly moved to the shore and as I expected, there were a few people with black robes patrolling the shore. Looks like there really were a cult on this island but how did they enter this place in the first place? isn't this place supposed to be sealed off from the rest of the world?
"Captain..what do we do?" I was lost in thought but Clay's question pulled me back to reality
"I'll take them down, you guys make sure that no one escapes"
Clay and the others followed my orders and readied their weapons, in case some of them can escape. I conjured two [Ice Lance] on both my hands and silently walked towards the 5-man patrol unit. The cooldown for the [Ice lance] was finished so I quickly threw the ones I was holding and managed two impale the two people at the back, I quickly conjured another pair of [Ice lance] and thrust them at the other two, quickly killing them. The last one tried to flee but with the help of [Dragon rush] I quickly catched up and sliced him into three pieces
Everyone walked out of the bushes with a weird look on their faces
"Captain...it's like you have a split personality..." Talia muttered under her breath
"What do you mean?" I asked
"Ah-..I.. I mean... you're so kind but when a battle starts...you completely turn opposite..." Talia was very nervous
"Is that so? I never noticed but let me get this straight, in a battle, I have to be serious... because I have to make sure all of you guys get home" I chuckled as I pat her head
"It's a heavy burden...let me carry it with you" Mira seriously spoke
"Yeah... we don't want you to getting hurt..." Arachne also said
"But I don't want you guys to get hurt... this is a dilemma so why don't we just protect each others back?" I smiled at the two women
"Yes" Mira smiled
"Leave it to me!" Arachne did a small fist pump
"Look at you guys... being all lovey-dovey... it makes me jealous!" Rivera interjected
"Wait, you're into captain?!" Clay got the wrong idea
"NO!" Rivera replied with anger
"What is Love?" Valeria couldn't hold it in anymore and asked
"Baby don't hurt me, no more" I unconsciously replied
"What?" All of them looked at me with weird faces
"nothing" damn it, old hobbies die hard
"...Anyway, Clay! you should learn from captain!" Rivera started nagging at Clay
"What do you mean? if I become like captain, will I be cool?" Clay asked
"No you idiot, I want you to be as sensitive as he is!" Rivera, in a nutshell, was telling Clay not to be so dense
"Huh?? I can't really understand women" Clay just tilted his head
After his words fell, Rivera lost it and started nagging at Clay nonstop while Clay only sat there. Valeria also kept asking Mira and Arachne what love is but Arachne kept only saying 'feel it from the heart' while Mira only kept silent
'MASTER! WHY DIDN'T YOU USE ME?!" Rea...perfect timing... the icing on top of this cake of disorder and chaos...
"Hey..guys...we're getting hunted remember?" It was utter chaos
I sensed something behind my back so I quickly looked behind me... a Siren?! she had a lower body of a snake and the upper body of a woman...she had gills on her neck and she held two saber's on both her hands
"Humans... why are you here?" She pointed her saber on me
"We are investigating this island" I replied
"...Are there others with you?" the Siren asked
"Two more teams composed of five people"
"...this is bad... I have to report this.." The Siren quickly rushed back to the sea and disappeared in no time
"Captain..was that?" Clay asked
"Yeah...I think the situation just turned for the worse..."

BladeMage
Arenya Azural, a dragon-blooded farmer from a small town in the middle of nowhere, always dreamed of being a great hero, battling demons and monsters as a force of magic and power. Now her dream has a chance to become reality - she's a new student at Ba'al Cedric's Academy of Adventurers, a university for warrriors and heroes to learn to battle against the surprisingly amicable demon armies of the neighboring country in an endless war nobody really remembers the point of by now. She's also a BladeMage - an exceedingly rare and exceedingly difficult dual class that few have ever managed to succeed in, but those who have gain immense power. Arenya has a long road ahead of her, with rival students, duels with demons, and a host of benchmarks she must pass in order to keep her scholarship. Will she make it to level 100 and beyond, or die too many times and be forced to return home, tail (literally) between her legs to a life of farming and dreaming of adventure? BladeMage is a LitRPG with a lighter focus on stats. It features battles, leveling up, giant monsters, a bit of fanservice, and more. [Update: The LitRPG elements are proving themselves relatively unimportant as I continue to write. They may be dropped entirely, in which case I will change the prior chapters as well as update this description.] Content warnings: As a story featuring lots of fighting, there will be blood and death. However, since characters rarely die permanently, this will not be a hyperviolent story with extreme gore for the sake of it. Some sexual content and fanservice may be included, but this should remain firmly at the PG-13 level and there will be no sexual violence of any kind. The Cover: Someone suggested that I should have a dragon girl with a miniskirt on the cover. I can't draw and I don't know who to ask or commission, so a few minutes in the GNU Image Manipulation Program and the masterful cover above was created! Please feel free to use your imagination to see a gorgeous half-dragon with azure hair, wings, and a tail, holding a lightning-infused sword while fighting demons.
