"If there will be a battle like in the story, then we will be caught in the middle we can't even call for help" I analyzed

"Then, what should we do?" Clay asked

"There should be something up in the mountains, that's what the Nagas are after" I replied before continuing.

"Which reminds me, check the bodies of those hooded people I killed"

"... Captain! They vanished! They only left magic stones..." Rivera shouted.

"...which means...the undead, Valeria, you're knowledgeable, do you know something about this island?" I asked Valeria

"No, I'm sorry..." Valeria replied with a sad expression.

This is bad, we can't hide anywhere on this island, all I can think of now is charge in the shrine and kill all the cult members that were there but I have no idea how many of them are there.

Just as I was mulling over what to do, the quest scroll gave off a bright light. I took it out and opened it after it dimmed down and to my surprise it updated.

Investigate the Island

The Nagas are going to invade tortoise Island, your mission is to figure out the cause and stop it

"What happened?" Mira noticed my expression and asked.

I showed everyone the updated quest and everyone showed bitter smiles

"Let's go to the shrine, nothing we can do here... Let's just hope that we can defeat whatever cult is in there" I said

Everyone followed and started heading for the mountain.

"Captain, do you think the other team's mission updated too?" Clay asked

"Probably" I replied

"What do you think they'd do?"

"They'll probably team up and split the rewards"

"What should we do if that happens?"

"Let's just hope we won't cross their paths"

It was already afternoon and we are only halfway towards the mountain so we decided to set up camp and call it a day. Nothing happened that night but we still had our up, we continued our journey after waking up and eating breakfast.

It was mid-day when we arrived at the foot of the mountain.

"Okay guys, we don't know the number of the enemies so we should all stick together. Our objective, for now, is to locate the shrine, that's all" I announced and everyone nodded their heads.

I was the Vanguard along with Clay, behind us were Rivera, Talia, and Valeria while our rear guard was Arachne and Mira. We all hiked the mountain in that formation.

"Contact, front" I announced

Infront of us was a party of 10 undead, they all wore armors and were holding halberds, they didn't notice our arrival so we took the chance and surprised them. I killed three undead while Mira and Arachne killed two undead each, Clay, Rivera, and Valeria all killed one undead each.

We continued our journey and we finally found a large cave.

"Talia" I called out to Talia

"Yes" Talia knew what I meant and used her scout to explore the cave

"What do you see?" I asked

"The inside of the cave is infested with the undead...they'll discover my scout if it goes in deeper"

"That's already good enough, we only got two options left. First, we'll have to wait until the battle between the cult and the Nagas before we charge in.

Second is that we lure all those undead out.

How many undead are there?"

"About a 150 undead"

"Valeria...come with me, you guys stay here"

Valeria entered the cave and after a few minutes, we saw an entire field covered by zombies.

"Valeria, what are their levels?"

"Almost all of them are level 50... I see one whos level reaches 100, that must be their boss"

"Thanks, let's leave this place"

Valeria and I quickly left the cave

"What did you find? " Clay quickly asked

"Those zombies are only level 50 while their boss is 100, my plan just might work"

"What is it?" Mira and Arachne became curious

I told them my plan and everyone was shocked.

"As expected of Lyan" Mira kept nodding her head proudly

"Lyan, you're so evil~" Arachne had a mischievous smile while she hugged me from behind

'Oi! You fucking spider! Leave my Lyan alone!!' Rea didn't like Arachne's actions.

"Captain...please have mercy..." Clay had a bitter smile on his face

"Don't worry, we'll be together on this one" I laughed

Clay could only cry while Rivera dragged him away.

"Formations! Let's do this before the sun sets!" I ordered out.

I entered the cave and soon heard explosions coming from within the cave but I still walked straight, I took out Rea and Lea, I infused them with [Ice Giant's strike]. The two gigantic blades that formed above Rea and Lea attracted the attention of all the zombies within the open field.

"Humaaaansss! " the roar of a single zombie filled the cave, all the zombies charged afterward

I used Rea and Lea like a scissor and mowed down the zombies that charged, I ran afterward and headed for the exit.

"Prepare yourself Clay! " I saw Clay at the entrance of the cave, he was scared and shivering which made me laugh.

"Captain, please protect me" Clay was scared out of his wits

"Come on Clay, don't act like that in front of Rivera" I knocked on his helmet and encouraged him

"Can't help it.." Clay let out a bitter laugh

"Don't worry, you got this" when my voice fell, the first pair of undead arrived in front of us but we quickly killed them.

My plan was to narrow down the entrance so that only two people could fit at once, the explosions earlier was Valeria punching the walls so that the walls around entrance would break down.

"Come on Clay the next batch is coming!" I roared out to put all his attention on the enemies in front.

We kept killing the zombies but there was no end to them, I soon noticed that Clay was getting tired.

"Switch!" When my voice fell, Clay quickly jumped back and Valeria took over his position. Rivera dragged Clay's weary body outside and started healing him.

"Talia!" I shouted

"90 more! " Talia was tasked with counting the enemies left

"Let's go Valeria" I encouraged her

"Yeah!" Valeria energetically replied.

We continued our onslaught and when there were only 30 zombies left Valeria switched with Arachne while I switched with Mira.

"It's coming! " Talia alerted everyone

"How much more of them are left?" I asked

"13!" Talia replied

"Break formation! Come on Clay let's go!" I stood back up went to the entrance of the cave, Clay followed

Mira and Arachne retreated behind us, a 10-ft zombie soon came out of the entrance. It wielded a gigantic axe.

"Don't break formation, I'll face the boss while Clay, Valeria, and Mira will face the other 12 zombies, Talia, Arachne, and Rivera, support us" I gave everyone orders before heading off to face the boss.

"Human... Food... " he had a nasty smell

"Let's dance prick" I held Rea with both hands

'Iyaahn~ if you hold me so tight... I might cum...' Rea crushed my fighting spirit in one sentence

I ran forward and sliced at his right foot but he didn't care and swung down his gigantic axe, I infused Rea with [holy light] and sent a crescent holy wave towards his right arm, it left a deep cut but he still didn't care as he tried to grab me with his left arm. I dodged it by jumping up and leaving a deep wound on its left arm. Preparations were complete so I infused Rea with [Ice lotus] and hit his axe, the Ice lotus formed on the ground and held the axe in place. He tried to pull out the axe but his actions only caused cuts on his arms to deepen and soon both his arms were split in half.

I didn't miss this chance and used [Ice giant's strike] before using [Dragon rush] and cutting the 10-foot zombie into three pieces. My battle was over and when I looked at the others, their battle was over too.

"Come on, let's leave!" We had no time to stick around so quickly left and looked for a place to hide

Meanwhile deep inside the cave

"Where are the rest of the sacrifices?! " the demon who had no right arm roared out in dissatisfaction.

"Please wait master, we've met with a few problems but we can take care of it" the man with a black robe and a skull stuff replied

"Tch, this is unforgivable!" The demon roared out

"Don't worry master we're on it" the man quickly left

"Tch...just you wait, you will soon be under my control... Hehe... " the man gave off an evil laugh before entering another room

"Those fuckers finished off the zombies that took me a year to revive... Do they think it's fucking easy to ship dead bodies here?!... Hehe... But not to worry...my new puppets will take care of em hehe..." The man kept talking to himself
