《Royal Road Rumble》Match 4

Once again the time had come as people hurried on hoof, foot, claw, and wing back to their seats to see the enlarged ring had been replaced once more with its traditional scale. Randy hurried back to his seat with a half eaten chili dog and drink which he hurriedly scarfed down while Tessa was obviously making jokes at the man's expense. Randy chuckled as he cleaned himself up and grabbed the microphone and standing up to face the crowd again. "We've had one hell of night haven't we folks?" A heavy roar of approval came back from the crowd which Randy happily held the mic to where the occasional chants of "Pawn for Queen!", "Yakuza shall rise!", "A-bom-in-na-tion!", and others were picked up in the mess.
Returning the microphone to his mouth again Randy cheered, "And we still have four more newbies to the ring to introduce to you all tonight with one final four way one fall free-for-all!" Again a fresh wave of cheering rolled through the stadium like a crashing wave. "Our first new contestant might just be our youngest of the night. A young hot headed boy of nineteen years who has learned how to tear apart and reweave the world! A battle mage who's words can break bones! Cry havoc and welcome to the ring, The Son~ of Thorn~s!"
The sound of a cold wind blowing filled with the too loud sound of a lone crow cawing echoes through the speakers presaging a lone guitar's slow strumming. The guitar slowly fades as the crow continues to caw, when suddenly the crash of a drum welcomes back the guitar as a stringy five ten boy who has yet to fill out into man hood walks onto the stage. As an electric guitar joins the music the boy seems taken aback by the size and energy of the crowd seeming briefly unsure as too what to do. "Listen," He quickly squares his shoulders and does his best to ignore the crowd as walks down the ramp to the ring, "We ride, endless blackened waves, to the land of our kin." Like so many before him this night Son of Thorns simply climbs the stairs and slips between the ropes seeming to actively try to ignore the seething mass of men women, monsters, and aliens filling the seats.
"Aw, I think he's a little shy," Randy teased drawing a petulant glare from The Son of Thorns, "Hopefully he's not as shy about hitting women because our next fighter is not shy in the least! She's another young one, but where thorn's all about the smarts, this one's a vicious beast! She's the cannibalistic monster with many faces! An evil beauty that is a demon, specter, and thug all in one package! Tremble before the deadly, Monster Girl~!"
Several people burst out laughing instantly recognizing the song playing over the speakers as the wooden xylophone played out the notes imitating the rattling of bones. A rather short black haired Japanese girl wearing an almost painfully cliché white sailor suit spun out onto the stage skipping along with the music. She waved to the crowd and stopped, her flesh distorting as limbs elongated flesh becoming deathly pale as she slowly drifted off the ground. "Spooky scary skeleton, sends shivers down your spine," the song sang as the now ghostly woman drifted across the stage with an echoing hiss and unnerving throaty chuckle, "Shrieking skulls will shock your soul and seal your doom tonight." As she drifted down the stage her limbs compacted, darkened and new fur burst from her flesh revealing long ears, sharp claws, and teeth. The newly transformed Monster Girl now snapped and swiped at the people near the edge of the ramp, emitting a huffing chortle as they drew back. Running on all fours she rushed the ring and with a mighty leap soared over the ropes and rolled into the ring. As she rose to her feet she was once again a normal looking Japanese woman giving off one last twirl and a coy smile to the roaring audience.

"Well I know one contestant who's aiming to be a fan favorite already," Randy laughed before seeming to sober, "But will Monster Girl be enough to face off against our next monster? A deadly mercenary further augmented by countless mechanical tools of death and destruction. A woman so cold and unfeeling that some have wondered if she has swapped her own soul for more cold steel. Brace yourselves kids, because you now face, Sawyer!"
A rumble of thunder filled the ring as the lights flashed in an imitation of lightning crawling across the sky, the sound of a small hand held engine revs and then electric guitars begin to strum an opening riff. The sounds of the engine revving picks up as a towering seven foot tall woman saunters onto the stage radiating utter confidence. Her mirrored shades hide her face, and neat black suit most of her body, her every footstep seems to make the stage rumble. In one hand she holds some form of motorized vibro-saw which growls like a caged beast as she revs it to the music. "I've tried a lotta head, shots okay," the song cried as giant of a woman slowly waltz down the ramp towards the ring swinging her howling blade like it was a cane with an absolutely shit eating grin on her face as she draws closer, "Can't you feel the latter rules are dead, shot!?"
Finally reaching the sage Sawyer sets her blade aside and strips off her black coat before casually walking up the stairs towards the ring, her hands in her pockets. When she arrives at the rope she simply steps over them without issue to tower over the two much shorter fighters. Her smile widens as she whips off her glasses revealing her one robotic eye that whirls and shifts oddly as it takes the two in and she emits a slow eager rumble.
"A wonderful entrance from a menacing woman!" Randy states somberly before suddenly brightening and gesturing with wild energy, "And who better to protect these kids from this villainess than a true blue super hero? He's always there to save the day! Swooping down from the sky and making the bad guys pay! If you're in trouble simply call his name! Blue~ Ea~gle~!"
The music starts with a slow somber woodwinds section led by an oboe, the slow introduction of a rattling cymbal seems to symbolize a growing hope. Strings enter the still ominous music, but there's a slow brightening, almost like the rising sun banishing the night. Then the horns come in bold and triumphant as a strong and stern looking man walks onto the stage in a blue uniform. He pulls his white gloves and boots tight as he strikes a classic hero pose with his chest out and long white cape flapping in the wind as the horns continue to beat back the gloom in the song. He doesn't walk down the ramp, simply slowly rising into the air maintaining his pose flawlessly as her soars slowly over the crowd that is going wild with almost child-like awe and glee. The music now fully triumphant the Blue Eagle slowly lowers himself into the center of the ring still maintaining the classic hero pose and flashing his three fellow competitors with a soft friendly smile.
Randy wipes a small tear from his eye and sniffs, "Almost makes you think of the good ol' days don't it?"
Tessa's response is only a sad, "Yeah."
Randy hops in place again a ball of excited energy as he announces, "Everyone's here! It's the final match of the night! Let's lower the cage and have one more ROYAL ROAD RUMBLE!"

The cage comes down and immediately Monster Girl once more sprouts fur and claws as Son of Thorns starts to shape a rune in the air only to be forced to abandon it as claws lash at his face. Sawyer begins to tromp over towards the two teens only to be confronted by the blue wall of Blue Eagle who smiles kindly at her, "I think we can let the kids have their fun don't you?" Sawyer sneers at the man and delivers a skull shattering back hand to the blue boy scout who staggers under the blow only to immediately recover and deliver a haymaker in return that leaves her metal bones ringing. Clutching her head to stop the painful ringing the towering woman snarls up at the smiling hero and lunges with a beastly growl.
Back on the other side of the ring Son of Thorns ducks and weaves around a wild flurry slashing claws and gnashing teeth, seeking the distance to write a rune and wishing desperately for a spear or his needle to fend off the feral fiendish female. Monster Girl in return cackles happily, enjoying playing with the helpless meal in front of her leaving dozens of minor stinging wounds to prove she can before lunging to hamstring the backpedaling boy. Then she finds herself swept off her feet at over three hundred pounds of flesh and metal is thrown into her from the side. Son of Thorns blinks in surprise over at where the living projectile came from and sees Blue Eagle standing their with a bright smile and giving him a thumbs up.
Taking full advantage of the opportunity given to him Thorns quickly writes out a ruin of wind blasting both Sawyer and Monster Girl across the ring where they crash into the cage. Sawyer takes the chance to come down hard on the stunned monster in a sailor suit, rising quickly only to preform an elbow drop on the stunned beast. She then puts her full weight on the dazed girl trying for a pin.
"ONE!" the crowd roars as the referee slaps the ground.
Monster Girl shakes off the daze in an instant as her fur fades and her body bulks up turning green as fur and fang is replaced with massed muscles and horns. With a kick she tosses the once larger woman off of her and rises with a triumphant roar. Sawyer rolls to her feet quickly eyeing the now equally tall mountain of flesh in a sailor suit before flashing an eager smile of her own and meeting monster girl in vicious brutalistic melee.
Across the stage Blue Eagle turns from the building brawl to smile at the winded Son of Thorns, "I guess it's our turn to scrap for a bit."
Thorn immediately carves and new rune which explodes in another wall of howling winds which wash over over Blue Eagle without even mussing his short black hair. "Ah crap," Thorn mutters quickly starting on a new rune. The rune explodes the wrong way as a fist flies through it on a predictable arch which Thorn still barely dodges, he lashes out with a wild swing into the man's side flinching as it feels like he struck a brick wall. Thorn finds himself confused as Blue Eagle still stumbles from the strike putting himself against the ropes, he doesn't question it as he starts a new rune, only to get thrown into the ropes as well as the two giants stumble into him as they continue their vicious brawl.
"Sawyer and Monster Girl are really giving this fight everything they've got!" Randy crows, "They keep exchange blows that sound more like thunder bolts than punches and it could go either way!"
"Monster girl is showing she seems to have the advantage in Strength but all of her powerful blows are getting wasted with wild predictable swings." Tessa adds, "Like with our second match it's very clear that Sawyer has much more practice and technique with fighting as she's skillfully dodging a lot of Monster's attacks and delivering punishing counter attacks in return. Meanwhile Son of Thorns seems to be struggling to get the space he needs to bring his magic to bear. If things keep going the way they are both our younger contestants will find themselves down for the count."
Untangling himself quickly from the ropes Thorns quickly found himself caught in a headlock from Blue Eagle who began to playfully rustling his hair with his fist. Son of Thorns protested loudly to the childish treatment before writing a rune on the larger man's back. The resulting explosion of concussive force flung the boy in blue away and into Sawyer who cursed loudly as she toppled over. Instead of trying for a pin, Monster Girl backed away and resumed her wolf form, her many bruises beginning to rapidly heal. Then a new rune exploded in her direction casting out a wave of fire. She shrieked and patted out the burns, her form shrinking in on itself into smaller long eared goblin in a charred sailor suit.
Son of Thorns fired off another rune at her, but in this diminutive form she easily slipped around the magical explosion. Cackling evilly the tiny green woman sprinted up to the young mage and drove a straight punch right at his groin. Son of Thorn's eyes bulged in pain as the entire audience erupted into a sympathetic, "OH!" and began to boo the dirty move. As Thorns collapsed to his knees Monster Girl continued to cackle as she kicked and punched the downed lad, until she was unceremoniously punted across the ring by a very large and angry looking cyborg woman. Sawyer stormed after he prey as Blue Eagle hurried over to the mewling boy.
"You okay lad?" Blue Eagle asked rolling the battered and bruised mage onto his back. His only response was a pained whine as Thorns continued to clutch his manhood. "Don't worry son, I'm sure the doctors will make you feel much better."
He gently pressed Thorn's shoulders into the ring and let the referee slap out a three count sending the injured man away from the ring to get treated.
"And Son of Thorns is counted out after a particularly dirty move from Monster Girl who now seems to be dealing with both Blue Eagle and Sawyer, neither of who look particularly happy with her."
"Not unexpected," Terra smirked, "No one likes a crotch puncher. Still it doesn't look like Monster Girl is making it easy for them, while her new form lacks the power and weapons of her earlier forms, all that speed is making up for a lot of her martial skills."
Indeed in the ring Monster Girl was darting around like a humming bird lashing out with countless strikes against Sawyer and darting out of her range before the large woman could properly counter attack. Sawyer was withstanding the blows like a champ, but it was obvious that the woman was getting frustrated. Then after delivering another leaping punch to Sawyer's kidneys, a bolt of red energy slammed into the little green girl's thigh and slammed her into a turn buckle. Sawyer leapt upon the stunned goblin in a heart beat, grabbing her by the sailor suit and using her free hand to rain an onslaught of crushing blows into the younger woman's desperate and inexpert defenses. Before the punishment could last too long a strong hand caught the woman's fist. Sawyer glared behind her to see Blue Eagle frowning at her as he firmly stated, "That's enough, count her out."
Sawyer ripped her hand free and slammed Monster Girl violently into the ring floor. The referee again threw himself to the ground as he started slapping out a count. "ONE!"
Monster Girl snarled and her limbs begin to lengthen and lose her green coloration, again turning deathly pale. "TWO!"
When the changes ceased, Monster Girl drifted up through Sawyer's grip and floated angrily before the woman as the crowd echoed, "TWO, Two, two."
Sawyer looked uncomprehendingly at her hand and the ghostly figure before her even as Monster Girl again pulled back her hand to attack. And was then promptly driven back into the ground by red beams of energy shooting from Blue Eagle's eyes. She tried to get back up and the beams hammered her back down, she tried to drift down through the stage to escape but found something about the ring prevented her from passing through it. The beams continued now as a steady stream nailing her to the ground as Blue Eagle planted his foot on her to re-establish the pin, "Stay down please, you part in this match is over."
Monster Girl shrieked angrily back at the man trying to get out from beneath his eye beams but found herself trapped as the referee slapped out, "ONE, TWO, THREE!"
"And the kids are out leaving just our blue super hero and our cyborg hit man in the ring! Which of these two power houses will stand victorious at the end?"
Sawyer glared at Blue Eagle who smiled disarmingly back. "I'm not going down without a fight!" Sawyer snarled.
"I don't think anyone here expected anything less," Blue Eagle cheerfully replied.
Sawyer charged throwing a vicious right hook with her full body weight behind it, Blue Eagle caught it in one hand as he threw a right hook of his own which Sawyer caught in turn. The two struggled for dominance in the center of the ring, Blue Eagle seemed to be winning at first, over powering the larger woman. Then with a vicious snarl Sawyer pushed and began to over power the man caped crusader. When she felt she had enough of an advantage Sawyer slammed her forehead into the bridge of Eagle's nose causing the man to tumble back clutching his face. With his back now turned to her Sawyer threw a hard blow into Blue Eagle's kidney before grabbing the man and hurling him over her shoulder in a judo flip. Blue Eagle landed hard and Sawyer curb stomped the man's head while he was down before trying to pin the super hero. The count got up to two before Blue Eagle shot upright and striking his traditional hands on hips hero pose. The crowd went wild
Sawyer tried to rush back in only, to stagger as her vision was filled with red and it suddenly felt like she was standing to close to a stadium light. Staggering back a step she gasped as she felt a punch slam into her solar plexus and another hit her chin as she wheezed from the first blow. She staggered back into the ropes and felt arms wrap around her waist. She tried to throw out a wild elbow strike behind her, but found the world spinning as she was suplexed. She was distantly aware of the crowd's cheering in the distance before she heard something that made her blood freeze, "TWO!" With a bestial roar, Sawyer kicked out and threw the Blue Eagle off of her staggering back to her feet as the crowd roared its approval.
"And the two are just tearing into each other, close call after close call!" Randy cried looking like a kid getting all of his birthday wishes at once, "These two seem to be neck and neck, it could be anyone's match!" Beside him Terra simply smiled knowingly.
Blue Eagle drove a jaw shattering upper cut into Sawyer's chin that knocked her into the air before grabbing her out of the air and slamming her back first into the ground in another pin. Despite being dazed Sawyer managed to kick out on "TWO!" again, but it was a close cut thing as she saw in the corner of her eye the referee's hand stopping just inches away from the third slap. She grit her teeth, her entire body feeling bruised and even her metal bones feeling stressed. She charged forwards with a roar, only to veer off at the last second and turn her charge into a running clothesline. Blue Eagle staggered with the blow as she then grabbed his cape and used it to yank them man into an elbow blow that knocked him to the floor. Seeing red she then reached down and pulled the man to his knees where she began to rain a series of heavy blows down into the man's face ending it off with a spin kick to the face.
Gasping for breath she threw her hands up and roared as the crowd roared back at her. Throwing herself down on the beaten super hero she pinned him and distantly heard the count start. It was here she noticed that despite her assault and attacks, Blue Eagle's face was unblemished and not even red from the blows. She spotted a small smile on his face and then a coy wink as the man whispered up to her, "Great match, this was fun."
"THREE! Pinfall! Sawyer manages to pull out a win in the end with sheer grit and brutality!" Randy crows from the sideline as the crowd erupts in cheers and cries of despair as Blue Eagle is whisked away from the ring. "What and excellent final match for the night, in fact this has been an excellent night of wrestling from all sides! I hope everyone in the audience had fun and are willing to buy tickets to next week's show! Until then I hope everyone enjoyed this night of newbies on ROYAL ROAD RUMBLE~!"
