The words of Eve resonated in his mind even as he continued walking in silence. Finally, he came to a conclusion.
‘I need to face it sooner or later.’
It was decided. He would seal it one last time and later he would leave the city and go somewhere isolated in order to train. Ideally, he would have liked to stay here longer or immediately began his training, but he couldn’t endanger the lives of all those around him. His main problem came from a simple fact,
‘Who can help me?’
The other three were able to get help from either their parents or different mentor. War, for example, was personally taught by Michael. After all, despite his appearance, he was the Archangel of war. Michael also had a minor authority over death, but for clear reasons, he was unable to teach his own son.
From what Azrael knew, the other angel of death that could have helped him, the Great Seraph Uriel, had lost his authority and could only control the holy flame. Not that the holy flame was weak.
{Your goal is peace between all factions. Why don’t you use this opportunity to learn from other myths? There should be gods of death there.}
He mused a little, it was truly tempting. What more he lacked martial art training. He was good enough to not be called a novice, and was innately proficient with the spear, but, anyone who solely relied on his talent would have a very pitiful fate befell him. The Vatican didn’t lack good teachers. Vasco and Dulio being ones among many. But they coddled him too much. None of them was willing to truly hurt him. This concern, he was sure, would be non-existent in the other myths.
‘Thanks for the propositions, I will use my nearing meeting with the five families to see if I can meet their death god.’

{There are no death gods in Japan.}
“Wait. What about the Shinigami or Izanami? I thought she was a goddess of death and creation?"
He was so surprised that he talked out loud. Thankfully there was no one around him or he would have been taken as someone crazy.
{Indeed, in Shinto and Japanese mythology, Izanami gave humans death, so Izanami is sometimes seen as a shinigami. However, Izanami and Yama are also thought to be different from the death gods in western mythology. Even though the Kijin and Onryō of Japanese Buddhist faith have taken human lives, there is the opinion that there is no "death god", they merely lead people into the world of the dead.}
Azrael was rather surprised. One because he seemed he needed to do more research and two because she said more in the last few minutes that she did in a week.
"I see. So. Who would you recommend? Hades?"
{Well… Even though Hades is without a doubt the least… Hum...lecherous? Childish? Rapist? Between all the Greek gods. I advise you to not go there. After all, he is known to hate basically anything supernatural outside of his myth.}
"True...I mean." 'True. I know that not all myths are true. But if even ten percent of those myths are, going to the Greeks would be clearly a mistake. So, do you have any idea?'
{Hela the ruler of Hell or Ereshkigal the ruler of Kur. Personally I advise Hela. Ereshkigal has a rather troublesome tendency.}
'What do you mean?'
{Hum...I do not know the exact word but if I were to use your current research about Japan Otaku culture then she would be categorized as a Yandere.}
'Oh...'
The discussion between the two continued pleasantly like that, as they ironed the details for their plans, but then,

Azrael took out his phone and observed the message he received.
[WARNING: A HIGH-CLASS DEVIL WAS OBSERVED IN THE VICINITY. IT IS SUSPECTED OF BEING THE CULPRIT IN RECENT CASE OF RAPE AND MURDERS. ANY PERSONEL IN THE CURRENT TOWN ARE ASKED TO REACH THE HIDDEN PLACE FOR A BRIEFING. THE MEETING WILL BEGIN AT EXACTLY 0100]
Azrael looked at this prompt with a frown. Generally, he didn’t really care about those missions. He wasn’t an exorcist. But, the current situation was no joke. A high-class devil wasn’t something any human could take on. Sadly, aside from him, there was no one able to take on a high-class devil in a one vs one.
‘I can’t let those men waste their life aways..’
What's more,
“It will be my first hunt.”

The Emperor's Chef
"Cook like your life depends on it, kid. Because it does." Charles had an enviable future lined up for him. Training from the age of five by some of the finest chefs in the world. Schooling at a top culinary academy in the capital. An honorable position as heir to House Boulier, a line of merchant-lords who have charmed the rich and powerful with their cooking for centuries. And in a single night, it all burned to ash. When the outbreak of war destroys his hometown, Charles is charged with escorting his family’s sacred treasure—a recipe book passed down for untold generations—out of harm's way. But his simple mission grows complicated when he’s captured by one of the most feared battalions in the world: the Spears of Mercy. Life as a prisoner in their war camp is brutal and uncertain. Charles has few allies and even fewer strengths to rely on. Only his skills in the culinary arts, honed over a lifetime in the kitchen, are deemed useful enough to keep him alive another day. But he’s not out of hope just yet. With a dash of wit, a pinch of luck, and some very creative cooking, he might just find a way to recover his family’s legacy and take back his freedom. This project is a food-themed fantasy that centers on cooking and chefs. The setting spans a wide world featuring ingredients/recipes both real and inspired by traditional fantasy. I'll eventually be publishing it as a full-length novel (or series of novels depending on length). These are the first draft chapters. I'll likely be re-writing more than once, then editing before publishing, so impressions and feedback are quite welcome. If you like the story so far and you're interested in being an early reviewer for the final product, feel free to message me. I'm looking for an artist to make some concept art and a cover (the cover shown here is just a temporary placeholder). A stand-alone novel for now, but it may turn into a series down the road.

The Crisis on Planet 9
Welcome to the dream colony Planet 9, where the streets are stained by blood and the buildings are filled with human remains. The creatures roaming among the abandoned cars and flying vehicles resemble almost to perfection the mindless cannibalistic zombies born from the fictional nightmares of mankind. The cities were built in the retro style of the 21st century, but the technology of the 24th century is ever present, mostly within the bodies of those mortally challenged monstrosities. After all, what turned them into these things was not an evolved organic virus, an alien disease, or some sort of magical artifact, it was the corrupted and reprogrammed nanobots within their bodies. Originally, they were meant to heal them and help them access the tech around them, but now they were the origin of this disaster. Among the rotting dead and the Nano-Z, as the survivors called them, Kardian Pandora awakens two months after getting bit by one of them. A young teacher at the local Resonance High, foolish and naive in his own way, but now driven by the Sapient AI in the nanobots inside his body to hunt down other Nano-Z and learn how to survive. For now, his only goal is to become strong enough and rejoin his students and fellow colleagues, foolishly hoping to somehow be able to get back to the time when the undead did not rule the streets.
