Chapter 6 - Enlightened

Even before the effects of the 'Hundred Year Old Ginseng' was used up. Arthur Vermillion already felt his body bursting with energy.
He started to shadow box whilst the 'Hundred Year Old Ginseng' was still under effect.
"This kind of training is not enough for me after breaking through.", Arthur Vermillion muttered.
Now that he officially stepped onto the path of cultivation. He needed a suitable cultivation technique, which could make cultivating for him a lot faster. Although there are thousands of cultivation technique in their family's treasure room. He didn't like every single one of them including his family's treasured cultivation technique, the 'Sacred Vermillion Manual'.
Notwithstanding the fact that he would have liked the fact of burning his enemies to death. This technique requires a lot of time to practice. If he chose this technique then he would fall farther behind his peers which is the outcome that Arthur Vermillion does not which to see. If it was him 3 days ago, he would gladly practice this cultivation technique. But after broadening his horizons by listening to the Item Spirit about the wider world outside, he decided to set his goals higher than before.
For that reason, he would like a cultivation technique that is much more suited to him and is a bit faster to practice than the 'Sacred Vermillion Manual'. This is one his reason for trying to find the Item Spirit, but since it was gone there's nothing he could do about it. He could only stick with the 'Sacred Vermillion Manual' or look for a cultivation technique similar.
'Should I try and go for a solo expedition?'
However, he immediately rejected this idea.
There are a lot of powerful beasts roaming around outside the city so going out will do him more harm than good. It would be fine if there was an expert accompanying him but he would need a valid reason for hiring one. Besides, his father would immediately throw him to a cage if he knew that his son is courting death by leaving the city.

Anyway, he still has some time before he could start practicing a cultivation technique. He needs to stabilize his foundation first so it would be much smoother for him to break through the next realm.
........
After shadow boxing for quite a while. Arthur Vermillion felt his body brimming with energy. He didn't expect that the effects of the 'Hundred Year Old Ginseng' were formidable to this degree!
But this refreshing feeling didn't last that long for Arthur. He soon felt a throbbing pain coming from where his heart is located.
It was the same kind of pain that he experienced when that Item Spirit was drilling through his body but this time it was concentrated in the most sensitive part of the body which is the heart.
'Is it that Item Spirit again?!', Arthur thought inwardly, this time he would surely try and torture that bastard when he comes out.
This was Arthur's last thoughts as he soon dropped to the floor, falling in a deep sleep.
This was the Item Spirit's 'compensation' to Arthur. In truth, the Item Spirit cannot bring back the pure innate energy that he extracted from Arthur. He was running out of time so he had no other choice but to smooth talk him and get him distracted, that way it would be easier for the Item Spirit to get into his body.
In Arthur Vermillion's dream, he saw two silhouettes fighting with each other in the sky. The fight seems like it just started but in actual fact, one of them is extremely exhausted whilst the other is unconscious and just barely fighting with his will.
Arthur cannot be blamed for thinking that it was just beginning, this is a fight between two true masters. Even when they are heavily injured they could still move around this fast.
After a series of loud rumbles and sparks that were a result of their clash. They finally started to slow down.
Arthur Vermillion can now barely make out the figures of the two who were fighting.

One is a long-headed man holding a dark spear with a vicious smile plastered on his face. His inelegant demeanor and the dark aura he is emitting perfectly defines what a villain should look like.
A deep sword slash was inflicted upon his chest. Large amounts of blood are also leaking out of his body. He seems to be close to collapsing but he still wore that arrogant smile.
On the other hand, a graceful looking man holding a sword kneeled coughing a considerable amount of blood. Spear slashes can be seen all over his body but the one that made Arthur Vermillion gasp in surprise and horror was the hole on the man's chest.
It was a deep wound made by a powerful spear strike. The man's heart was nowhere to be seen. Subsequently, a ring from that man's finger suddenly emitted a dazzling light and it shot through the sky with amazing speed, leaving its owner behind.
After seeing this, the long-headed man tried to catch it by throwing his spear but to no avail. The ring flew up at even a faster rate. With the long-headed's man current pitiful condition, he wouldn't be able to catch it so he decided to cast a powerful spell in a bid to trace it. It might accidentally destroy it in the process but taking this risk is better than losing it.
When the Item Spirit sensed this powerful spell coming closer and closer to it, the Item Spirit left the ring. The ring was made from a very hard material so it was not destroyed but if the Item Spirit stayed in there, it would instantly evaporate into nothing.
However, he was still very close to the ring so it still received a considerable amount of damage in the process so it decided to rip a part of space to escape from here. The only downside of using this technique without its body, the ring, is that it would greatly reduce its lifespan. Moreover, the Item Spirit ripped a space with a great distance from here, hence, preventing the long-headed man from tracking him quickly.
The consequences of this action could be imagined.
After witnessing this scene, the long-headed man's face grew dark. He received a minor backslash upon casting that powerful spell but even with that slight injury, it still caused him a lot of pain given his current condition. Afterwards, he turned around to look at the owner of the ring. He was the one who ordered the ring to escape from here immediately.
Thereafter, the long-headed man suddenly whipped his spear...
The graceful man's head came rolling on the ground.
Arthur Vermillion didn't even have the time to digest the events he witnessed as the scenes around him began changed abruptly.
Then he saw a light flying at a high speed, the scenery around them changing at a very fast rate. It was the same mysterious light that appeared last night.
In actual fact, the Item Spirit does not have the energy to fly anymore, this was the effect of ripping through space at the cost of burning most of his life. Now, it could live for about a hundred years at most.
The changing scenery gradually slowed down and the Item Spirit arrived at its destination.
Now the Item Spirit needs to find how a way to get rid of the energy inside the Item Spirit. For that reason, he searched for a child with a very pure innate energy, great potential, and talent. The former is for it to remove the energy inside the Item Spirit and the latter is to make him its new future owner and possibly defeat the enemy who caused him to flee from his beloved master.
The following events should be already apparent.
