Chapter 29 - Enter, Julius!

"All right, stop."
With the scene playing out like this. Elder Giu can't not interfere.
He turned towards Arthur with his knitted eyebrows, it seems that he was mentally communicating with Arthur to tell him what to do.
Since an Elder interfered, although his status as the son of the Patriarch should only be slightly beneath if not on par with Elder Giu's, he should at least give him some face and let this matter rest.
Arthur nodded in understanding, and said: "Alright,". He walked off the stage quietly, as if he was not in the least exhausted from thoroughly trashing a second stage Body Strengthening Realm cultivator.
After he took a few steps, he stopped, pointed at Lin and said, "This man named Lin is our gardener. If you dare touch him again or his family, I will cut off your balls and shove it up in your mouth." The second stage Body Strengthening Realm disciple heard this, and he could help but tremble. All the malicious ideas he thought of instantly evaporated.
He wanted to quickly agree with Arthur and kowtow at the same time, but his body wouldn't even permit him to do so.
Meanwhile, the spectators had become noisy once again.
"It seems those rumors about Arthur weren't true at all! Just who could humiliate a Superior Body Stage cultivator to this extent?!"
"Even my great grandfather won't be able to do that..."
"Aren't your parents mortals? Just what do you expect of your great grandfather to do?"
"You!!"
Elder Giu's voice shut them up, he said: "Since the winner of this match has been... exhausted. He will not participate in the following matches any longer."
Up above the seats of the spectators, sat the various figures of high-ranking families that came to watch. Martial competitions such as what the Vermillion Family is holding aren't really uncommon.
It is a way to show the might of a family. It is actually rare for other families to personally watch an exclusive competition such as this. Even more so if it is held by some meager or a declining family such as the Vermillions.

At this time, several Elders from different families that were seated murmured to themselves.
"That good-for-nothing son of Patriarch Jiu, he actually have this much strength?"
"It's impossible to improve this much in just a few weeks time. I think he hid his strength and deceived us all!"
"But why would he do that? That is just stupid!"
On the following days, the competition between over the thousand disciples continued, only stopping at dusk and continuing a little over at dawn.
The matches Arthur fought went like a breeze. He would exchange a few moves with them, then once they had contact with him, they would immediately surrender.
During those days, the news of Arthur trashing a Superior Body Stage disciple spread. Those who knew him laughed it off at first, however, as time passed, they have no choice but to believe it. And now, they came here to watch Arthur fight.
This was the seventh day of the Vermillion Family's martial competition.
Among those thousand disciples that were forced to participate, now only 16 remained.
These people are the hope of the Vermillion Family, the pillars that will shoulder their decaying home, with one of them leading the rest.
With Elder Giu's signal, the match started.
The first match was between two third stage Body Strengthening Realm disciples, it was a decent fight to watch since both of them were evenly matched.
But, one of them suddenly made a small mistake, the other immediately took advantage of it thus ending the fight.
The second match started.
Next, the third...
The fourth...
...
Then, the seventh match started.
It was between two fourth stage Body Strengthening Realm, Cleansing Marrow stage disciples.
The two of them assumed a stance. Looking at each other fiercely, they both simultaneously shot out their fists.
At the surface, it seemed that both of them were even in strength. However, an expert would clearly see a little bit of scratch on one of the disciple's fist.

It was obvious that the other is stronger in terms of strength.
Then, as if the weaker disciple knew that he was bound to lose this clash of strength. He suddenly moved backwards, possibly trying to exhaust his enemy.
Brimming with confidence, the other disciple followed the retreating disciple. He seemed to know that he held the upper hand so he obviously took advantage over that fact.
Whenever he reached a certain distance between them, he would throw a fist and land a hit.
This continued for a couple of minutes. Everyone watching could already tell that he was winning.
However, at this exact moment where he carelessly lowered his guard down. The disciple who was getting pushed back abruptly stopped and changed his stance.
Previously, he was full-on defensive and seemed to have no intention of launching an offensive attack.
He very quickly and violently punched his opponent's lower chin, making the latter almost stumble and fall from being suddenly hit on this weak spot.
He took advantage of this moment and launched a barrage of attacks. From the way he was going, it was possible that he wasn't planning on stopping any time soon.
It was only after his opponent limply fell unconscious on the ground did he barely managed to stop himself.
Plop.
Since they fought a bit too fast for the majority of the audiences' eyes. They didn't really noticed the disciples' state and could only watch impressively at the unfolding scene.
But now that they got a close look, they could see that this "weaker" disciple from earlier who they thought were receiving a ton of hits from his opponent, was uninjured. He was completely out of harm at all.
He shook his head while looking at the person on the ground and said, "Just a little lamb act and you get worked up. Aiya, you should practice more, Senior."
The way he said those words weren't masked with mockery or condescension at all. It was pure and sincere.
Elder Giu announced the results, "The winner of the seventh match, Julius!"
"What a sinister young lad!"
"He actually has no family name at all... He is not related to the Vermillion Family!"
Meanwhile, Elder Giu and the others were also having the same question in their heads. Just who and where did this disciple come from?
They have never knew that this servant was hiding such formidable power.
However, no matter what, they must pull this kid into their ranks. With these much strength and talent at such an early age, he surely would become an extremely sturdy pillar of their family in the future.
The eight match.
It was between Arthur Vermillion and Wang Vermillion, the son of the sixth elder.
"Hehe, Arthur. Seems like you've finally improve a little since the last time I saw you. Unfortunately, this is as far as you can go. Of course, there's no need to worry since we're both families, I will go easy on you. Now, come!"
The match didn't even last a minute and all the people watching had no time to react.
As soon as Wang rushed forward towards his direction, Arthur also unleashed his full strength, nearly having five times the speed of the man in front of him.
He jumped forward, gathered momentum, and kicked at the spot where his opponent's neck is located. Wang immediately kissed the ground after that impact.
He immediately got up but unfortunately for him, Arthur kicked him yet again, this time on his stomach.
A picturesque one-sided beat down happened this day.

Prey No More
Imagine being given a second chance at life. Not only that but with a life you chose (sort of). This is exactly the situation that our character is in. He was once a Biology Graduate Student involved in a special program in Alaska studying Polar Bears. In an ironic twist of fate his life is ended by exactly that which he was trying to study. Now, in a new world, he refuses to be anything but the top of the food chain. IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a story I began writing a year and a half ago and decided to shelf, I'm coming back to it now because I miss writing; however, I have not carved out any time specifically for this and, as of now, it will be something I do on the side for fun. Currently I have 9 chapters plus a prologue written; I'm going to be going through and editting it to be in a present tense (from past), as well as changing some of the story and grammar. Let me know what you think, and thanks for reading.

Grey [HIATUS]
I was originally fueled by anger and disdain to write this and looking back, most of what I wrote for this story was unplanned and a bit trashy. I kinda stopped having ideas for this, so I stopped in the end. If you're looking at this right now, you probably shouldn't read this because it's only 12 crappy chapters in and yeah... Sorry to the people who might've liked this. (Maybe one day I'll continue this, but for now, I have other plans) Grey, a prince, is unsure about what to do when he starts running away from an enemy beast tamer. He's unsure on what to do now that his father, the king, is dead. In the forest alone, he'll discover a small companion and a rogue. Together will they figure a way to take back Grey's kingdom? Or will they just die in vain? Let's be honest here, most of you probably like the fox aspect of the story the most. (BTW the cover design is made by me. Terrible, I know) I'm kind of done with writing bs descriptions that I might change in the future, plus I'm not very good with being thoughtful with quotes and stuff like that. I just write what pops into my mind, which is usually stupid things. So the description may or may not be accurate so I've changed it to being very vague.
