《The Farmer》Chapter 12

‘No prompt, what is she talking about?’
“Maybe it’s a hidden feature?”
Bob’s body stood still, and his mind got caught in another struggle. Perhaps they don’t believe him to have the money to pay them. In this line of thought he took out 3 silvers out of his pocket and showed it to them.
“Could be, but he has the money so we should just do it.”
The adventurers look around the place so they know where to demonstrate. There are a lot of space where they could do it just nearby the shed. Across from the field where the shed is a small patch of dirt. Bob leads them to the spot and they got ready to show him their skills.
The first one to go is the big one. He slowly unsheathed the short sword from his scabbard and raise it over his head. The other two laughs at him and insulted him on his pose while Bob is in awe wondering what this adventurer might do.
“That’s so lame! Get on with it.” the skinny guy shouted.
“Guess I’ll start with this.” He replied, unfazed by the mocking laughter.
[Vertical Cleave]
After shouting, his sword gave off a blue light, then he swings it upward. A blue wave escapes from the sword and it hit the fences on the side of the farm where he directed it. A shallow cut can be seen on the ground where the blue wave pass stretching toward the fences.
Bob couldn’t hold his excitement and shouted.
“That’s amazing!”
DeSpanishINQ looks back at them over slight and see the over joyed farmer brimming with excitement while the other two are not impressed by what he did.
“You couldn’t even destroy the fence!” the girl laughs.
He squints his eyes and mutters something underneath his breath. Then his sword began to glow again and he swings it sideward. The same form of blue wave escapes the sword and manage to hit the fences as well but it remains unharmed. Without moving from his original position, he keeps hacking away his sword in different stroke and the same waves comes out of it. After a few more slash he stops as if he’s out of breath. The fence remains standing with only a few shallow cuts here and there that looks more like scratches than actual blade cuts.

He gives off a sigh and walk towards them feeling disheartened. Bob on the other hand just couldn’t contain his excitement and is in awe over every strike that he made. Seeing giddy farmer somehow cheered him up for a bit.
“My turn.”
The skinny guy walks over to the same spot that unofficially becomes their starting point to showcase their skills. He brandishes the two blades he unsheathed from his back with the point pointing on the outside. Bending his knees then stretching his right arm as if he’s ready to attack he mutters something then he disappeared. In an instant the adventurer is above them and is making a downward strike towards Bob. Midair he shifts the focus the strike to just in front of him.
Still processing what just happened, Bob disregarded the fact the he almost got hurt and utters the same word he could describe the experience.
“How did you do that?”
“Secret. That’s my skill. But I’m not done yet.”
[Stealth]
It was faint but Bob was able to hear it. Yeeticus disappeared right in front of his eyes and the next thing he knows is that he is behind him. He turns around and was surprised. His mouth opened in disbelief and couldn’t utter a single word.
“Man, once I become level 16, I’ll be able to make a clone.”
“Well you’re not. But I am.” The girl snide.
She walks to the same spot as where the other two demonstrated their skills. With her staff on her right hand she puts forth her left hand and utters something underneath her breath. The wind around her began to shift, and her staff glows with a green light. Vines sprung out of the ground and binds the fence that was targeted earlier. She mutters another thing and the vines briefly glowed a green light before becoming bigger and finally crushing the fence. She looks backs at them with a smug look on her face as her hairs moves with the wind creating a scenic pose to which the others just brush off as her being haughty.

“That’s how you do it.”
She walks towards them and talks to the still dumbfounded farmer. He almost passed out from excitement as his knees breaks down. He falls down the grass and let out a chuckle.
“Are you okay?” the worried girl asks.
Bob roars with laughter and lies down. The adventurers look at him and thought among themselves that he has gone completely mad.
“He is broken.” Yeeticus mentions again.
Bob stood up and took the silver coins out of his pocket.
“I’m sorry for acting like that, but as agreed here are the silvers.”
He hands out 4 silver coins to Yeeticus who is the closest adventurer near him. He looks at it then puts it in his inventory.
“Guess that’s it.”
“Is there anything else we could do here?”
The adventurers look around and again swipe the air in front of them as if looking at something. Seeing as they are going to leave already, Bob made another attempt to stall them.
“Why don’t you stay for the night. It’s a long way back to the mainland.”
They all agreed to stay for the night. With some of the wood that EviLigh gathered, he roughly fix the fence just to make sure that the animals doesn’t go in. The vines didn’t disappear and serves as a foorhold to fix it. The fissure however is not as big as it was when the vines sprouted from it.
By supper he serves them his usual food. A ftew with the rabbits that he caught and some vegetable grown on the farm and then gave each of them a bottle of milk. The food looks really simple and taste bland as well without any kind of seasoning
“Sorry about the taste, I don’t have any condiments.”
“Clearly. It’s heathy tho.” DEspanishINQ
Yeeticus, despite his arrogant nature, ate it without any complaint. Finishing it faster than anyone else.
“Let’s see” He says as he stood up and looks around the house. Opening his cupboard and taking more of his supplies.
“Dude come on not here.”
“Beta ends today, what’s the worst that could happen?”
After an attempt to stop him they don’t bother with him much. Bob didn’t mind much as well since the supplies are all milk and vegetable that he set aside and could refill it immediately by taking more in the storage that he was supposed to sell to Bara, but it did surprise him with his attitude. Instead he turns his attention to just ask them about earlier.
“How did you do those things earlier?” He asks the adventurers across from him.
“If you learn the ability you need to chant it, but you need to be in combat mode first. It doesn’t need to be out loud, it just needs to be clear. There’s another way but you wouldn’t get it.” The girl said but her voice slowly got quiet at the end, indicating that she really probably shouldn’t have mention the last part.
“How do you learn this skill?” Bob inquired further.
“Uhhmm… I don’t know how to explain it.” She then looks at DeSpanishINQ who just shakes his head then she added. “Sorry”.
Before they knew it, Yeeticus is already on the 2nd floor rummaging about the place. He comes down with an almost full burlap sack. Then puts it on the table and opens it, revealing that it is filled with gold coins.
