《The Farmer》Chapter 26

Jack,
Things have been well here in the farm. This is the first letter I will send you in response to your reports. Thank you for your reports.
I have nothing much to say, which made me think that I should be more productive of my day. From your letters I have learned much, I would like to see Hanwood again in person but I guess it will have to wait.
Bob sighed as he puts his pencil down. Staring at the piece of parchment right next bowl of stew. He looks outside the window where the sound of rain starts to pick up. There are still light over the horizon but the skies close to him are darken.
He went to his porch still carrying the letter before scrolling it up and placing it inside an internode of a bamboo about the length of his arm.
As he stares at the field wondering what else he could do to past the time. His mind wanders back to when they started creating the other golems.
He went back inside and took another parchment where he drew an effigy. Marking parts of it with labels such as core, artifact and body. Other things he wrote with a line connecting to the 3 words; memory, ability, strength. From there he starts adding details to the effigy and more information about it and the materials that he would use. The most prominent mark on the effigy is a lily, the same emblem that can be found on the coins that serves as Jack’s eyes.
Judging that everything is in order he grins at the parchment while holding it above his head, satisfied with what he has done so far.
The next day, Bob started working on the design he made on the parchment using the crystals that was harvested. Spending most of his time stuck inside the warehouse while the other golems do the work around the farm. Specially the one wielding the shovel all the time.

He doesn’t neglect his usual routine as well as helping around the farm. He still plows and help weeds he field from time to time. But replying to the letters was one of his greatest joys in the days ahead.
Jack,
I have received my 4th letter from you. I am glad that you are safe. Be wary of those monsters, but I doubt that they will do anything to you with Agta by your side. Rootwing has a library somewhere ad it might contain crucial information. But I trust that you remember what I have told you.
Things here in the farm remains the same. I have decided to try some experiment with a new golem that I am going to create. I have roughly constructed the body which I am genuinely proud of, it has deviated very far from what I have sketched up but it’s satisfying enough.
I also agree with your assessment. Despite not making a big deal about it I can see the fatigue on Atga. She spends more time inside the cavern to hasten her recovery.
Jack,
I’m grateful for your work thus far. I’m also making great progress in my experiment. Our theory about the memory is clear before. But due to the lack of material things we haven’t progressed beyond the initial memory.
They need to have a very specific mark that the owner treasures, to create a proper golem. I had Obi etched the Stargazer on the golem.
After inserting the core, the golem became like the others but more machine-like. Lacking judgment. And must be instructed at all times.
I have no words to describe your decision to trade. You are very intelligent when it comes to things like that but please don’t let those merchants lose their goods.
Jack,
I am aware of the great distance between us now. I have finally learned how useful having a raven to send letters. Nesbitt truly did know. In that regard I would like to add another request while on your journey.

There is a courier shop in Laylon that trains ravens and crows to send letters. It would be a great help for us here.
Another breakthrough on the creation of new golems. That’s right, Golems. I’m planning to create a dozen more, with a very specific task as to not over burden and confuse them. Which make me wonder if I should design some ranks like a squad of some sort. All their orders will come from me anyway so maybe it doesn’t matter if there are ranks.
Just so you don’t get too surprised when you get home. I will have them all over the lookouts as well going on patrols. Which brings another problem that could easily be resolved. The crystals you have gathered from the past 3 months will be used up. Mainly because I waste most of it constructing their body. And I’m getting used to creating them. About 1 golem a day.
P.S. I hate you for making me write like this.
Jack,
Your curiosity regarding the monsters concerns me. But I do trust you. You are far more superior in judgement compared to me. But please be safe.
There are many advances back in the field. I have even considered expanding the farm. But aside from me, there’s no one else to consume produce so I’ll withhold for now.
Aside from the earlier versions of the golem I have created 5 more. It appears that I can’t create a golem every day alongside with training them with basic motor skills. With them around I wouldn’t have to clean the cesspit every year!
I guess you would need to spend more time when you get to the capital. Cinder City is much larger than any place you have ever been to. And as I have said before that I haven’t been there since I took another route to get here. I also just remembered that there might be something there that we could use to create the golems. The materials there are fairly cheap compared to the normal commodities that they obtain from different towns.
Be safe, always.

Living In The System - A LitRPG with more story, less text boxes
In the ancient echoes upon it’s great boughs, Yggdrasil holds all the knowledge in existence. Indeed, all of creation swings from its immense branches and leaves. The howls that creep through its cavernous spaces were not caused by the wind. No wind could be powerful enough to shake The Tree, yet it rocked. A great battle raged in its dew drops and amongst its roots. A War for control. For knowledge is power, and power is everything. A furtive glance over her shoulder told the hurried goddess that she was not being followed. That was good. What she had just done would be a great risk. Placing a new thread on a world so soon to be destroyed was costly. She would be greatly diminished, but her work was not done yet. In the myriad of infinite worlds, there lies Genia. A starter world, of very little importance. It is where she will find her champion. Killian never got the chance to see the world. Yet he is given opportunity. Opportunity not just to see the world, but to change it... to change all of creation. There are many stories to tell upon the Tree of Yggdrasil, where all of creation hangs from its branches. The power of destiny fuels all, but destiny is fickle. He can only pray that things will go well. [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]

The Love Hero Chronicles
Lets keep this simple shall we? Single witty and sarcastic man is now trapped in an alternate Earth based off a cringy eroge game. Worse yet he's stuck there as a supporting character with a horrendous backstory. Seeking way home or at least trying not to bite the dust as many non-protagonist male characters do. Will his real world thinking connect well to the tropey and cliché world of a harem game? Probably not.

A Titan's Crusade
Erik Thayne spent most of his life being brutally ridiculed and tormented for his weight and physical appearance, among other things. A social pariah and diagnosed with an eating disorder no one has an explanation or treatment for, Erik spent years trying to overcome his issues with his personal image and escape the ridicule and vicious torment of his peers. After years of dedicated effort, and a fresh start in a town away from his childhood and adolescent tormentors, he had finally begun to truly realize what he'd been striving for all along. Only, fate apparently has other plans because in the blink of an eye, Erik found himself snatched from Earth and taken to another universe, another world, where he is offered the chance to be more than he'd ever imagined. Now, he has to fight to restore the Balance between Chaos and Order on a world of swords and magic, in a universe governed by the System's laws, which resemble those of RPGs from Earth. Erik learned to embrace the things about himself that others taught him to hate, using them to reforge his physical identity into something more removed from his old self-loathing. But can he learn to embrace the darkest parts of his mind just as he did the reviled aspects of his body and become who he needs to be to succeed in the task set before him? It might just prove easier to stalk in the dark as a monster than to walk in the light as a man... *This is my first time publishing anything I've written to a public audience. Due to formatting issues, I forwent traditional stat-screens for something a little less problematic, delineating stat screens by separating them from regular text with horizontal lines in a lighter-grey coloration. Let me know if you like them or not. Criticism is entirely welcome, but please don't hate on my work after only reading 1 chapter. This is a writing project I intend to complete but I have committment problems so we'll see how long this goes on. Also, fair warning, as the description implies, the main protagonist is intended to be someone who has been treated cruelly, developed antisocial tendencies, and ultimately has to question his own humanity--or lack thereof. This story is not intended to be brutally dark but I will definitely be trying to follow a darker theme. It is intended to be violent and some scenes later in the story might be...alarming. There will likely also be some light, non-graphic (think more implied with crude jokes and conversation than actual details, there will be no full-blown sex scenes)relationship scenes planned later and if you're opposed to either a bisexual or gay main character, stay away. I haven't yet decided which way he's going to swing but the odds on him being straight are relatively miniscule, and I've always wanted to write a story about a gay man who basically looks like a lumberjack because who doesn't like giving conventional stereo-types the middle finger? This will NOT be a harem story, and I have no intention to focus on romance over action--it's a consequence of character development where I'm concerned, not the be-all-end-all of the story. The cover-art does not, in any way, belong to me. It was an image titled the Druid King (by duskanmarkovic according to the file name) which I found on Google Images. Until I can get something commissioned, this is the best stand-in image I could find.
