《The Unknown Summoning of the Godly Hero in Another World》Chapter 007 – Crimson Elder Dragon • Lam’gurd

“Who dares enters my domain? Do you have a Death Wish!?”
After the roar that caused a shockwave with mana infused in it, which is blocked my natural [Magic Resistance], the Crimson Dragon suddenly talked to me without any gestures that the sound came directly from its mouth. It talked to me using [Telepathy].
“Messiah this might sound weird but if I die, will I resurrect with only my [Stats] being lowered?”
“Young One, that specific ritual is part of the ‘Records’ as a ritual for the ‘Choosens’ in Fantashiem. As to this world, I’m not sure. But that is not worth trying. I suggest that you defeat this Dragon. This type should be a moderate opponent for you, right? Based on the ‘Records’, this type of Dragon should only be S Ranked”
I should have asked the specific details about dying. I’m becoming like those naïve protagonist in the novels I really hated.
“Umm, Mister Dragon, Do you understand me?”
This is the first time that I understood someone after they’ve talked. Those ‘Monster’ tribes were shouting things to each other when they fought with me but I didn’t get the slightest bit of idea what they were shouting to each other.
And with the Dragons [Telepathy], he replied “You sure have the courage not to get coerced by my [Aura] alone. You also withstand the [Dragon Roar] earlier. You are a Brave Warrior that deserves to have faced me, Lam’gurd, the ruler of these Lands.”
“Ah..Um..Sure, Mister Lam’gurd sure is great. So you do understand me?”
Messiah sure is composed in this situation. Well, if this Dragon really is the same one in [Fantasy End] then this would be an S Ranked [Elder Dragon], an evolved version of the [Dragon] that is an A Ranked [Magic Creature].
“Brave Warrior, are you mocking me? A simple human language is but a tiny bit of knowledge that we, the Proud Dragons, should naturally know. You sure are full of yourself for maintaining that calm attitude of yours.”
Ah, that got me annoyed a little bit. This Dragon sure is arrogant. But I got to confirm that what I used as a language to talk is considered a language of human here. This is reassuring as I’m afraid that I will not understand others even after reaching the City. It would’ve been awkward not to understand anyone in the City.
Confirming this I used [Telepathy] to talk to Messiah. I also used [Illusion Jutsu] to hide my Chanting of the [Telepathy] and used [Mana Concealment] to hide the fact that I used Magic. The [Illusion Jutsu] is a [Ninja] [Technique] that only needs hand gestures, so it doesn’t need a chant.
‘With my Mana, Hide this Magic Spell that I will be using, [Mana Concealment]’
’Using my Mana, Connect me to talk to someone, [Telepathy]’
I should really find a way to have the ability to invoke [Magic Spell] Chantlessly.
“Messiah, this dragon is so eager to fight me. Well, that works as this Dragon kinda annoyed me with how arrogant it is. I’m going to fight this one but if it gets dangerous for me, don’t worry about the Mana consumption you’re going to take from me, just prevent it from happening”
“Oh, Young One, you’re finally relying on me? Rest assured, even if I don’t have the authority over this world’s Mana, with your Mana, I can easily destroy this whole Mountain Ranges.”
“That’s very reassuring and scary at the same time. Just prevent anything dangerous, Ok. I plan on questioning this dragon anyway. It’d be a waste to kill him.”

“Ok I understand, Young One.”
And with that I ended my [Telepathy] and cancelled the [Mana Concealment] and [Illusion Technique].
I had an agreement with Messiah one time as we did one experiment. I swear to god, or should I say Messiah? I will only use Messiah as a Contracted Spirit when I definitely ran out of other option and it will be my trump card.
“Hey, Mister Lam’gurd, do we really need to fight?”
“What? Your questions are getting me angry. Should I really call you ‘Brave Warrior?’ I already acknowledged your courage, but you don’t want to fight!? You should be honored to have faced me but this is your attitude!? Fine! Then I will just kill you!”
“Wai-!”
Before I can reason things out, the terrifying and big open mouth of Lam’gurd generated a huge Magic Circle. The Mana Concentration I can feel in its bloating throat is so high that it felt weird that the feeling of someone other than me doing this kind of huge [Magic Spell], left me baffled for a second.
“Messiah, go and take Wendy with you and go somewhere safe!”
After shouting this to Messiah that was on my back, He started to retreat without replying to me. I didn’t look at him as I started my preparation for the incoming Dragon Breath.
‘[Iron Fortress]’!
‘[Castle Wall]’!
‘With the Mana that manipulates Space-Time! Make the space surrounding me indestructible! [Void Area]’!
As the’ Dragon Breath’ is finishing its form, I activated two intermediate skills from the [Job] [Dragon Crusader] that was integrated from one of the pinnacle of Tank-related job [Crusader] to buy time if ever the Dragon Breath activated faster. But the Breath didn’t activate fast enough and I was able to invoke additional [Advance Class] [Void] attribute Defense magic.
I think that the two intermediate skills is already enough to stop the Breath Attack but it’s better to be safe than sorry.
Then the Dragon Breath was finally released just as I finished invoking the Defense Magic. It was not like any traditional Dragon Breath that you see in movies. It was like a Highly Condensed Laser!
RROOAAARRR!!!!*
I watched as to how the Dragon Breath collided to the transparent blue barrier that was the [Iron Fortress] and the transparent red barrier that was [Castle Wall].
The whole surrounding was trembling as if these Mountains have an earthquake occurring on it. The shockwaves of the collision of the Dragon Breath and the two barriers made the forestry around us flattened. We are at least a hundreds of meters above the ground so it just shows how powerful this Breath Attack is.
I feel my body raise in temperature as I was quite near to the Breath, but it doesn’t made any harm to me.
Before a minute have passed, the Dragon Breath started to dissipate and this time it was my turn. I started chanting a spell.
‘With the overflowing Mana that is circulating from my existence, Use this to summon the flame that is sleeping in the underworld!’
And the Dragon Breath totally disappeared and I cancelled [Iron Fortress] and [Castle Wall]. I let the [Void Area] that cannot be seen by the naked eye as it is the space itself that was the barrier, to defend me. I then Invoke the Magic Spell I was chanting earlier.
‘[HellFire]’!
A huge Magic Circle instantly appeared underneath Lam’gurd. With a face of astonishment, Lam’gurd tried to get away fast but it was already too late.
SSHHHWWOOOO*
With a deafening sound of concentrated high-temperature crimson flames, the body of Lam’gurd that was at least a hundred meters in length was swallowed whole. Lam’gurd didn’t expect this at all as he underestimated me that I can’t invoke large enough Magic Spell to swallow him whole. That’s what you get for being arrogant!

While Lam’gurd was suffering in the HellFire, I quickly changed my Equipments to combat Lam’gurd in melee. I was currently equipped for Magic-related equipment as to boost my efficiency for the [Flight] Magic Spell. I change to Combat-related equipment that will boost my [Job] [Holy Sword Saint] as this was integrated from the pinnacle of combat-related [Job] [Sword King].
Just after I finished changing, the HellFire finally dissipated revealing a severely burnt scales and flesh of Lam’gurd.
RROOAAARR!!!*
“HOW! How can you invoke a Magic that’s comparable to the Gods! Ugh…”
I didn’t reply and just watch carefully if Lam’gurd will do something. I believe a Dragon like him will not let something like this happen to himself while not taking revenge. Being sensitive to Mana sure is convenient as I confirmed that he used the surrounding Mana to reinforce and slowly regenerate his body.
He then charge at me using his enormous body with his mouth open trying to bite me and rip me apart. He might be thinking that his at disadvantage for long ranged combat as I let him experience firsthand what Magic Spells I’m capable of.
But that’s where his wrong.
As Lam’gurd charged, I also charge at him but using my small stature to my advantage. I moved around nimbly, zigzagging my way to his huge body. I let the weapon I switched to, which was a natural enemy of the Dragons, the [The Dragon Slaying Sword • Ascalon] to dance around the body of Lam’gurd.
He tried to bite me, but failed as I utilized my natural agility as a Sword Master and adding my ability as an Elite Ninja and Cruel Assassin at the same time. Even if my equipment is for my Sword-related Job, it doesn’t mean that I can’t use the abilities of my other [Jobs].
I used the Buff Skill of [Holy Sword Saint] [Blessed Blade] that coated my Sword with white, holy lights then added the buff Skill of [Ninja Assassin] [Haste] that coated my whole body with a transparent red film layer.
With the additional attack power and speed, the biting, slashing and pounding of Lam’gurd was all avoided. With the accumulating wounds all over its body, Lam’gurd was trashing as if he had gone berserk.
Lam’gurd started to invoke Buff Magic to its own body one after another and then use all kinds of offensive magic it can shoot to me. Fire, Lightning, Lava and Laser beams, all kinds of Fire-related Magic Spells was shot towards me while I keep attacking Lam’gurd and accumulate wounds all over his body. I just ignored and let the small offensive spells hit me as it will be defended by the [Void Area], my natural defense from my stats and passive magic attributes resistance.
I also used all kinds of [Magic Spells], [Skills] and [Techniques] to make Lam’gurd weak and break his willpower and stop his arrogance to towards me.
I didn’t use any large scale [Magic Spells], [Skills] or [Techniques] to Lam’gurd except at the start because I want him to survive.
And with his last willpower he again tried to shot his last Dragon Breath.
RROOAAR!*
And just like that I did the same as what happened in the start and just stood there and waited for Lam’gurd to finish the Breath Attack his forming. It just that now I didn’t put up any barrier and just let [Void Area] do the defending.
And he then shot out the Dragon Breath. It was noticeably weaker compared to earlier but it was still fatal if not defended properly. But to me, it was a child’s play to defend this now as it was used to me the second time.
I just let my hand lift a little as to gesture that I will defend the Dragon Breath with just the palm of my hands. The Breath the collided with me and then another small earthquake and shockwaves happened again everywhere around me.
Lam’gurd was so surprised as to what he was seeing as I looks like that was just catching the Breath with my hands as it collided with me. Lam’gurd has the look of despair and shame as he looked to me like he was facing something that he feared the most.
I made it looked like, that I just caught the Breath only using my bare hands, but I actually utilized the [Void Area] that cannot be seen to make it looked like I was catching the Breath by hands.
And then the Dragon Breath dissipates with a short silence. I looked to Lam’gurd that was so injured that the majestic look he had earlier was like a joke. Then I spoke.
“You sure didn’t listen to me earlier. Look what happened to you.”
“…..”
He didn’t reply to what I said. He just has the look of someone that already admitted defeat.
“I just want you to do something for me. You don’t have to be so hostile.”
“….You, Brave Warrior, is the most worthy opponent that I have ever faced. But I can’t get this feeling of anger and humiliation I’m feeling right now! Ugh!..”
Why is this Dragon still so arrogant? Do I have to make it clear what kind of positions he’s in? Hah~ I don’t want to reveal my Title to him because this kinds are for sure to be in contact to someone in the higher ups.
“What are so dissatisfied with? I just want to have a normal conversation but you act like some kind of muscle-brain. It’s annoying, don’t you know?”
“…Ugh. I just can’t accept the fact that in all of the time of my long life, I finally found someone that can fight with me that is not of my kind! But still! In this fight you didn’t even used a fraction of your true strength! How can I die so shamefully to an opponent that didn’t even take this mythical battle seriously!? Ugh..”
Hahh~ Look at this muscle-brain. I did fight seriously dude, what do you want? I’ll just make a reason that this dumb Dragon can accept why I defeated him.
“Ok, then. I’ll show you why I can defeat you easily. “
“…Show me?”
And just like that I operated the System Window and selected the [Titles] tab and activated a title that was grayed out. The gray Title turned white as to prove that the Title activated successfully. And then something happened to Lam’gurd.
“!!!...Your!?”
“That is right. I didn’t want to let you know but you gave me no choice.”
And then I activated an [Advanced Class] [Holy Sword Saint] Skill [Heaven Fall]. My [Dragon Slaying Sword • Ascalon] then turn into a huge pure divine power in a shape of a sword. I charge to the dumbfounded Lam’gurd as I slash downwards in his body from his right shoulder to his lower left hips.
And with the last of his strength, Lam’gurd said.
“…..The Dragon Kings….Descendant..”

Recruit - An Infinite Labyrinth prequel
A prequel to The Infinite Labyrinth. The year is 1816. The British Empire is in full swing, under the auspices of King George III. The Infinite Labyrinth has been pouring out its product from beyond our reality and fostered a new industrial revolution. Times are changing, and the people of London are feeling the winds of the revolution while British Professionals push into the Labyrinth. The newly formed Artefact Hunting Company is looking for recruits, and they have new technology to help them. From the slums of London, they aim to recruit a new wave of Professionals. And make Zacharias and the Earl of Carnavon lots of money. So, for Rowan Rivers and a handful of lucky ones, it's time to head into the Labyrinth, and discover what makes it different from England. And what makes THEM different? Recruit is a bunch of chapters I wrote to create to the setting, mood, and game systems of the Infinite Labyrinth. It is NOT a complete story in the classic sense. It's more of a slice of life view of early days of a normal Professional from the Infinite Labyrinth, and it's heavy on info-dump. It's 90% canon - there's probably a bit of a difference between how some characters and common behaviour are portrayed here and how they'll come out in the main story. Set two years before the events that kick-start the main series, it features some of the secondary/peripheral characters of the Infinite Labyrinth and will tell you all about the basic mechanics of the Labyrinth's RPG system. It can be considered a spoiler, as the characters in the Infinite Labyrinth are going to need to figure out all that, on their own. But if you like a much deeper exposition in the mechanics, here it is. The entire prequel is about 80 pages long.
