《Forced Immortality》Chapter 1

For a while darkness was all I saw.
If this was the afterlife then I have to say that I am thoroughly disappointed.
‘Well, I guess it’s better than being burnt alive...’
Fortunately, I wasn’t trapped in the darkness forever.
Eventually my surroundings began to light up until the bright luminescence forced me to shut my eyes.
“Wait...I have eyes?!” I exclaimed suddenly opening my eyes and looking around.
I was no longer in the void and instead gigantic trees surrounded me and vibrant green grass rustled beneath my feet.
“Holy shit, I’m actually alive?!”
“And in a fantasy style forest.....” I trail off while examining the gigantic trees that towered over me.
“.......wearing completely different clothes...” looking at myself, my work clothes have been replaced with black robes that look like they came straight out of some famous science fiction movie.
“So either I’m tripping balls or I’m pretty sure I transmigrated” I blankly state while remembering the bizarre ‘accident’, if you even want to call it that, which caused my ‘death’.
“HOLY FUCK I ACTUALLY TRANSMIGRATED! I ACTUALLY GOT THAT ISEKAI TREATMENT AN-“I abruptly stopped, my hands clamping over my mouth and my face quickly becoming as pale as a sheet.
‘Jack you dumbass! You’re in the middle of a forest in an unknown world and the first thing you do is scream your ass off?! I am so dead if something heard me...’
I warily look around waiting for something to pop out.
There are several bushes in between the large trees that look like perfects spots for horrific monsters to pop out and try to eat me.
After a minute of nothing happening, I finally relax and begin to sigh in relief.
At that exact moment, the bush to my right starts violently rustling and the sigh of relief immediately catches in my throat as my heart threatens to jump out in fright.

The rustling stops and something finally steps out of the bush.
It’s a squirrel.
A normal sized squirrel with silver streaks going through its fur, to be exact.
I just stand there looking at it blankly while it does the same.
“Almost gave me a heart attack...” I finally sigh as my body relaxes.
I look at the squirrel and notice it’s still just standing there looking at me.
“Hey there, buddy.......you’re looking for something to eat?” I jokingly ask the cute looking squirrel.
The squirrel actually fucking nods.
The smile on my face immediately freezes.
What do you say when you meet a squirrel smart enough to actually understand speech?!
I honestly didn’t know what to say.
The squirrel chooses this moment to start walking/hoping towards me.
And I choose to turn around and walk (run) away.
Aaaaaaaannnnddd the super normal and definitely not magic squirrel is now in front of me....
“Well shit...” I blurt out.
The squirrel starts pointing at.....my crotch...
“What? You want some nuts?” I can’t help but say and start laughing.
The squirrel is not amused and actually nods again.
This just makes me laugh harder until a silverish brown blur jumps on my face.
And then the pain begins.
“WHAT THE FUCK?! You stupid squirrel, get off!” The squirrel, which had jumped on my face, begins to scratch and claw at my face while I try to desperately pull it off.
It’s grip is inhumanly strong and it’s claws tear through my flesh like butter while my screams of pain resound through the forest.
Eventually, it succeeds in tearing out both my eyeballs and my world becomes one of darkness and pain.
“MY EYES!” I hoarsely scream as the thing finally jumps off my face.
My face, or what’s left of it, is just a mash of flesh and blood.

‘How am I even still conscious?!’ Is all I could think as the pain overwhelms my mind.
Unfortunately, the squirrel isn’t done yet.
It came here for food and it wants its goddamn food now!
I barely have time to register the thing clinging to my right thigh before the lower half of my body suddenly feels very much naked.
What follows is the greatest pain I’ve ever experienced. Worse than getting your eyes ripped out and worse than getting smashed by a truck before getting impaled with steel rods.
I distinctly felt the squirrels claws tear into my ball sack just deep enough to get a good grip and then subsequently tear my balls off with what can only be described as practiced ease.
There was no scream or shout.
There was only pain.
My mind simply couldn’t process the white hot pain that I felt.
Fortunately, the merciful darkness soon engulfed my consciousness once again.
—————
Squirrel was having a pretty good day.
It had actually found some new nuts to add to its stockpile and it couldn’t be happier.
It’s been a while since any humans came to Il’mote(Pronounced ill + mote) and it’s food stockpile was running low so it would soon run out of its favorite snack.
Squirrel was surprised to find a human this deep into Il’mote but it wasn’t going to complain.
After admiring its new nuts for a bit, it packed them into its mouth for safe keeping.
With its cheeks bulging, the squirrel happily ran back home.
It couldn’t wait to show off to the others. They only look for boring tree nuts and don’t appreciate these better nuts.
With its mind so preoccupied with its new nuts, Squirrel completely forgot about jack’s body which was fading into black mist...
