Hey guys. So this is quite a bad news I guess.

I started writing The King is Back out of some random idea I had in my head that I put into writing almost immediately. I didn't prepare well enough because I was just so excited about writing my first ever fiction. I was too passionate about writing my story that I may have ignored some of the mistakes I've made. I've received some humbling constructive criticisms but some hurtful ones as well.

Most of the criticisms stemmed from the inconsistencies in the logic in my world or perhaps the lack of style in my writing. Over time, I did improve my writing but that feeling of inadequacy was still on the back of my mind. I think you may have figured out already that I am not a native English speaker as well so complaints about my grammar were also prevalent.

I have been very happy in writing The King is Back. I wrote some neat characters, created a whole world, and I even gave you some illustrations on what those characters look like. I even went the extra mile by creating maps, showing reference pictures, etcetera. But I think perhaps I was too ambitious.

But again, that feeling of inadequacy and the underwhelming reception this fiction has received always bugged me and obstructed my creative flow. Of course, I have the future storylines mapped out inside my head but if I continue writing like this, the quality may drop even further and that's not what I want.

That's why I'll be taking a hiatus in writing this fiction. Whether I'll rewrite the previous/earlier chapters or even reboot the story, I don't know yet. This hiatus is not due to busyness or real life issues (although I'm going to be quite busy with college soon), but it's due to my unsatisfaction with the story. I may even just continue the story right away if I'm in the mood.

I don't know how long this hiatus will last. Maybe it'll be a few weeks or more I don't know yet.

I am now in the middle of writing second project/webnovel. This novel is quite special to me since it has a direct relation to my hobby and passion. This story will be a bit more grounded so I hope it'll also improve my writing skill.

Synopsis: An aspiring indie filmmaker was suddenly transported to a fantasy world while shooting a scene in a remote tropical jungle. Having no fighting experience or any other experience, he was only left with his film-directing skills and the shooting equipment that was also transported along with him. He finally decided to be the first film director of this strange new world. He will introduce the craft of filmmaking to that world and move the hearts of its inhabitants with his films.
