《ARC》Book 1 Chapter 95 Airshark

The transport ship's back faced them, containing a large metal door with a circular valve wheel handle, similar to what you would expect to see on a vault. The wheel rapidly turned before the door was slammed open.
It held two occupants dressed in uniform armour. The men's difference was that one of the open-faced helmets was a crude stylized shark with blue-colored plumes from the top, while the other had a more simplistic helm with a red plume. Both had subtle lifeforce matching the colour of their respective plumes under their skin. Josh approached the pair.
"This is Noah. We will be making a stop at the Sisters of the Sea before returning to the Fallen Citadel. Have the preparations been made?" Josh said.
"Yes, sir. We're ready to depart as soon as we reach the Airshark," the man with the red-plume answered.
"Good. Everyone, please enter the transport ship," Josh said as he got on board.
Noah followed behind him. The inside was revealed to the group as they walked through the door. Benches were lining the walls, designed for function instead of appearance, with two more comfortable looking chairs forward-facing out the window. The man wearing the blue-plumed helmet sat on the seat on the left while Josh took the seat on the right.
The red-plumed man patiently watched the rest of the group enter along with the sheepdog before closing the valve on the door. He then took a seat on the bench nearest the exit. Noah sat near the front to prevent the pilot from going off-course.
Blue-lifeforce appeared on the surface of the pilot's skin, expanding outward through the transport ship. Noah could see through the window that they were gaining elevation, flying in the direction of the moored Airshark. They flew low across the water until they reached the larger vessel. As they neared, Noah could see individual metal panels welded together by an unknown ability, making up the surface of the Airshark. The transport ship began to gain altitude to align with the fin's missing segment, just below the lookout deck. The transport ship slowed as it arrived, turning to reverse into the docking station. There was a light thump as it gently docked inside the empty slot created by its departure.

The red-plumed man stood up from the bench and activated a couple of levers beside the exit. There was a creak followed by a clang as clamps locked the transport ship in place. He then unwound the vault wheel and pushed the door open. Outside, there was a narrow hallway. Doors lined either side, ending in a pair of steep staircases leading up and down.
"We've arrived. Noah, your companions can wait in here until we reach the Sisters. Do you want to supervise our journey from the command room?" Josh asked.
"Yes, lead the way," Noah replied, gesturing out the door.
Josh and the pair of resistance ability-users left the transport ship, looking over their shoulders to check that Noah was following. The group walked to the steep staircase at the end of the narrow hallway and began to descend. He climbed down three floors, each with narrow hallways with doors lining each side. But a window showing a view of the island, instead of the transport ship's vault door. On the second to last floor, the scenery changed to show the deck of the Airshark instead as they continued to descend.
The group arrived in a large open space with an enormous table in the centre with cartographer tools spread across a paper map pinned down to the surface. The room had windows in every direction, including one on the floor, which showed the murky ocean beneath the Airshark. Outside the windows on the sides, metallic wings arched gracefully into the water on either side. At the front of the room were two comfortable swivel chairs and some benches back-to-back down the centre to sit.
"Here we are, I'll have to find the Sisters of the Sea if they've left by using my [Astral Vision] ability. The hard part will be getting them to surface if they have," Josh said as he took a seat beside the blue-plumed man in the comfortable chairs at the front.

"Surface?" Noah asked while choosing a position at Josh's shoulder to stand.
"You'll see soon," Josh said mysteriously as blue-lifeforce spread through the Airshark.
The Airshark began to gain altitude steadily. Noah glanced over his shoulder toward the window on the floor. He could see droplets of seawater falling into the ocean as they rose soundlessly into the sky.
"Which way do we go, sir?" The blue-plumed armoured man asked.
"Hold on. That way," Josh said as his eyes glowed purple, pointing inland.
The uninhabited settlement became visible as they rose in altitude. Noah could see the island's village's overgrown ruins in their entirety, beginning with the destroyed dock. A large area of destruction became apparent at the crossroads, caused by his battle with the soulless sheep.
Buildings were levelled in a large radius. The ones nearest the epicentre were charred black with corpses of monsters littering the ground on the destruction's outskirts. A few hell-hounds and soulless wandered the settlement, becoming alert as they noticed the Airshark fly overhead.
The geography of the island was gradually revealed as they flew. It was smaller than Noah anticipated, gently sloping upward into a small mountain covered in vegetation at the centre. The lifeforce of the plantation wasn't as evident in the red-daylight as at night.
He noticed the landslide he had caused in the grass meadow fighting the dogs and their handler. There was now a gulley splitting the meadow in two. While he watched, there was the movement of an unseen creature travelling through the field. It ignited into the fire as an unfortunate creature disturbed the deadly grass.
Noah's expression turned grim when he saw the tree from which Dogfighter Darren hung. Mercifully, he couldn't see the corpse through the shimmering tree foliage. They continued to steadily fly toward the peak of the island, away from the beach with the fishing trawler's wreckage, until Josh jolted. Josh's reaction drew Noah's attention. He followed his gaze to see a large number of small silhouettes rise into the sky, flying in their direction from near a break in the canopy of the forest where it looked like something crash-landed.
In the distance, Noah was able to see the peaceful shimmering meadow with the withered oak tree beside the charred ruins of Granny Yaga's cottage and the ransacked garden of horrors. Leaving him feeling slightly guilty for some reason.
"Wayde, we're about to have some company. Could you deal with it, please?" Josh asked without taking his eyes away from the window.
"Yes, sir," The red-plumed armoured man replied.
He rose to his feet in a fluid motion, running toward the steep staircase located at the back of the command centre. Noah heard the sound of boots on metal as the man ran up the stairs two at a time. It was shortly followed by footsteps on the deck overhead. The flying creatures became apparent as they drew closer.

The Ruins of Magincia
They say all things end in time, but the exalted City of Magi would’ve begged to differ. Yet when an attempted coup goes wrong, the city finds itself brought to the very brink of destruction. In the wake of the calamity that left no survivors, the autonomous infrastructure still operating the ruined city seeks to restore what was lost. Luckily for it, the Mana-devoid Universe it awoke in holds an unexpected surprise: a planet full of sentient life forms. All capable—with a little help—to become the next generation of Magi. Back on Earth, Millie McArthur is a pregnant out-of-work mechanic struggling with the prospect of moving back in with her parents after leaving her unfaithful fiancé. That is until she finds herself just one of the hundreds that have been shanghaied by the callous artificial constructs still manning the ruins of Magincia. Now, she must struggle to learn magic, compete for resources, get good 'grades,' and fulfill the seemingly arbitrary requirements for her future job in this broken city. All while keeping herself, and her son, alive. Is the miracle of magic really enough to make up for all the pain? The Ruins of Magincia is a dark fantasy that's heavy on the drama (LitRPG aspects are very light). Chapter lengths can be anywhere from 7k-12k and there's no current release schedule as I'm focusing on wrapping up volume one.

This story was supposed to be a rewrite of my earlier book, Harry Potter and the Dark Phoenix but the plot ended up so different that I figured I’d just make a new book out of it. I might, at some point in the future, rewrite the earlier book with the earlier plot but that will have to wait for this one to finish. This is an AU so please keep that in mind. Constructive criticism is welcome, needless bashing is not.

Greys II - Ghosts
There he stood, dark eyes, dark hair, beautiful in the most devastating of ways. It scared me how little he had changed, his hair was longer and black, his frame thinner, like he hadn't eaten since I last saw him. His eyes were different, lacking something they had always held before, lacking anything really, and yet he was the same. He looked weak, but I knew he wasn't. "Hi, angel."His voice was just as dead as his eyes. It sent a shiver up my spine. That was the reason I felt sick, that was the reason he seemed different. He was dead, and as much as I wanted to hate him, I was sad he was empty, sad he wasn't the same man anymore."Hello, Gabriel."My voice came out softer than I would have liked, the words burning my tongue. But it didn't matter, I got the desired effect even if the volume wasn't there. He flinched, his eyes widening, his eyebrows twitching up and together, his jaw setting for just a moment. But then it was gone and he looked away, death settling back in his eyes, in the lines of his face.» ✦ «#2 in Angel Romance#3 in Demonology#11 in Thriller#Mature, 18+ for all the reasons. Not a YA novel (again).**Due to disturbing themes, violence, depression, language and literally everything else, this is not for the kids. Ghosts is darker than Intentions. But you need to live in the dark to appreciate the light...or at least, the lighter grays 🖤🖤
