《Happy Ending》Chapter 26: The true answer!

Everybody went to the living room to sit down.
It was too much for all of the involved. One of them was tired to think of any excuses to flee from this situation, other was trying to figure out why is a girl on in his friend's house while another couldn't think at all and only felt rage and jealousy over his friend. And the last one was pouting because the first one didn't answer her question, altho she still sat on his sat.
The big guy was the first to talk, using a calm tone in his voice to not make matters worse.
-Chris, could you please introduce us to-
-Just who in the heavens in this angel on your side?!
But the glassed friend couldn't wait anymore and blew his anger interrupting David in a rude manner. One of his best friends has an unknown girl whose figure would even compete models inside his house and was hiding that fact from him.
-Max, it's not what you-
-"Not what I think", my ass! A guy with a girl alone at home, tell me how it's not what I think!
There was some frustration in Max's heart since David got himself a girlfriend. Altho he was happy that his friend got a lover, each time he talked about how their dates were, how fun was being with her, just how many things they did together, every time Max heard it he wanted to punch his friend right at the face for being a show-off And now that his other friend was also with a girl, to make him not think it's what he thinks of them was the last drop in his heart.
-Max, you are being very rude now. At least have Chris a chance to explain.
Luckily, there was the boy's other friend there, David. Contrary to Max, he wouldn't be taking this to a personal level and would listen to Chris seriously. If Max would go over the line, the boy could count with David to shut him down.

-Thanks, David, you are-
-There is no need for that, my friend. I'm just curious about how you and your girlfriend meet, that is all. Now, would you present her to us?
(...Girlfriend?)
That one word made Chris warry of the conversation.
-Huh...David, she is not my-
-Oh, please, Chris, don't need to be shy. We are your friends, after all, you can tell it to us.
After speaking, David smiled from anticipation. In his mind, Chris and the girl were dating, but since his friend was shy to talk about private matters, he wouldn't force him to talk, altho his curiosity was taking over the big guy.
-But man, there is nothing of that with us.
Both of them already had the same impression: she was his girlfriend. The boy couldn't let this misunderstanding continue. If for example, the word at the school was that he had a girlfriend, Chris would be the target of teenagers gossip for a month! Not minding his actual reputation, this would make him into the hot topic of the moment.
He needed to change his friends' mind and fast, no matter how difficult it would be.
-Lies! How can you say that when she is holding your hand like that!
-Huh?
The pairs were facing each other, with David and Max were sitting on two chairs while Chris and the girl were on the couch. There was nothing but a small table in the living room between them, so they could see each other without any cover.
That is why Max could point out how the two's hand were together. Their palms were together with their fingers interconnected, forming the so-called lover's hand, the one only people who date would make.
(Just when did she do that?!)
He couldn't feel a thing until his friend point it out. Confused, Chris looked at the girl but she was still pouting while looking away from him. Just when he was trying to think of how it happened, the one he called friend continued to attack him.

-Where are your excuses now, Mr. BOYFRIEND?
The evidence was clear and there was no denying. He didn't know how long their hands were like this but if he tried to deny it now, there was no way of knowing when things would turn out.
Flushed, the boy tried to shake it off, but the girl's grip was too strong for him. Even worse, the more he tried to shake her hand off, the more it looked like he was trying to show off to them.
-What a lovely couple they are, aren't them Max?
-Chris, I so gonna kill you right now!
From that act of love, the couple showed, his friends had some very different opinions about it.
-But, in all seriousness, when did you meet?
-Yeah, how many weeks were you hiding her from us?!
-No, like I sa-
-Did you two kiss yet?
-Man, listen-
-Or did you two went even further than that?!
-Guys-
-Did you meet her parents?
-How often you see each other?!
-Any plans for the future?
-Does she have a friend to introduce me?!
The questions didn't stop coming towards Chris. There was no one that could help him. His friends already established that he and the girl were dating, and any attempts to say otherwise were overwhelmed by their willpower. It was too much pressure for the boy alone. The only one that could help him solve all of it didn't move at all, as if she was ignoring all of the conversations, making the boy sweat cold of hopeless.
But still, they say humans work better when on pressure. You don't feel like running or thought you had reached your top speed but when a lion is lost and you saw it chasing you, it's when your true potential shines. Yes, the pressure helps, it open new opportunities that nobody else had imagined before! It reveals the solution to your problems! It makes your work harder than before!
-She is not my girlfriend!
And using the pressure as his ally, the boy finally thought of the true answer he was seeking!
-This girl right here is...my cousin!
