《Happy Ending》Chapter 50: Thoughts and Notes

-Done. That should do it for now.
Wiping the sweat from his forehead, Chris looked content with what was in front of him. Sat on the bed with her body full of bandages, Midna was showing her naked back at him.
After he had calmed down, Chris had brought her to her room and took care of her wounds there. Since his mother was a doctor, she taught him one thing or two about medical care, so he managed to do a good treatment for the girl.
Still, that was nowhere as good as his mom. Before he had started, he called his mother to come back home to take Midna to a hospital, saying the girl had fallen from the stairs.
The mother said she would have a quick stop there to see what happened but told him to just stop any major bleed and have the girl rest until she arrived. Right now, Chris had finished his part.
-You can rest now.
-Hehehe…thank you, Chris!
-Hey! Put a shirt on before turning, idiot!
She was going to hug him but forgot the fact she was currently without anything on her top-side. Since most of the worse wounds were on her back and limbs, Chris had not seen her front, however, right now she was naked.
The clothes she had on were all thrown to the trash. There was no seamstress capable of salving what had become of them. They had so many cuts that it wouldn’t be wrong to say passed through a shredder.
Before he could see anything that he would regret later, Chris turned his head away. Although a part of him wished his reaction would be a bit slower.
He got up from the chair he was sitting and went to the wardrobe, picking the first thing he saw then tossed to her without looking.
-There, use this!
If the girl continued to be in her current state, things were going to turn bad for Chris. Confirming that she was wearing the clothes for the sound, he began to relax and looked around the room.
(Come to think of it, this is my first time in her room.)
After Midna began to live with them, the only person who entered her room was his mother. Since she always waited for Chris in the corridor when he wakes up and they usually stay on the ground floor afterward, he had never been inside.
To put it simply, it was bland. Most of it was empty space, having only a bed, a wardrobe and a simple desk alongside a chair. There was no redeemable image inside, even the walls were white.
The only thing in the room that filled the eyes with interest was the fluffy animal placed on the desk. Chris grabbed it to see it better.
It was a bear with purple skin and a white belly. His face was showing an angry smile with all his teeth being displayed and one of his eyes were missing. Looking at the rest of the body, many parts of it were ripped and you could see the filling coming out of it.

It was really the exact same copy of [Grandell, the Bear] from [You are mine]. It was so perfect one could be misled to think it was made by a company to sell to the fans.
(So this is where you were.)
After she had shown it to him in the park before, Chris though this medium size bear was lost when they were found by his mother so he was a bit glad to see she still had it.
But, at the same time, it gave a grim feeling.
The image of those shadows running appeared in his mind. They were so fast and silent that reminded him of the picture of a ghost, floating above the ground as it came towards you.
(Was that…also you?)
He thought while playing with his dumbs to move the bear’s arms.
There were no denying things now weren’t as they usually were in his life. It was too weird that, for him to comprehend it, Chris needed to think even weirdly.
(Let’s just say…they also came from the game. What would it be?)
Those shadows managed to hurt Midna and they didn’t leave just a scratch. They were also so quick he could only see them as blurs moving.
If such an animal or being existed near his school, he would have known it for sure. For more stranger than it sounded, Chris would believe if those things were something like aliens than something living on Earth.
However, if they had the same origin as the girl, it wouldn’t be unreasonable to acknowledge what they did. After all, if she could exist in his world, nothing would stop other things from there, like the bear on his hands, to be here too
(…Seriously, for me to think like that, I must be getting pretty desperate…)
If someone else heard him say that, they would look at him in pity but for Chris to think this as the most normal answer and he was confident it truly was the best one, left him being a little downcast.
-Done!
While he was alone with his thoughts, a cheerful voice came from his back. He looked back, feeling it was safe to see her now.
-How are you feeliiiinnnggg…!
But he was baffled when he saw her, dropping the bear to the ground. The girl was sitting on her knees while looking at him, wearing a thin cloth on her body that he wondered if that could be called clothing.
It had a dark color and an almost-see-through fabric that seemed to reveal her body but kept the most important parts concealed and her belly exposed. Two lines came from the shoulder up-to her thighs as if they were opened curtains, trying to not show more than it should but it only makes her body more obscene.
Chris had no doubt in his eyes; the girl in front of him was wearing a nightgown.

(How did this happen?!)
He swears he didn’t pick that one for her. The one he had chosen was just simple clothing that would make her look casual and not full commando. He couldn’t understand how she got that but his eyes quickly found the clothing he tossed for her on one side of her bed.
-Why didn’t you wear the clothing I gave you?!
His face got hotter and he couldn’t maintain eye contact with her, so Chris couldn’t see Midna looking at her body in confusion.
-Am I weird wearing this?
-Rather than weird, how are you not embarrassed about it?!
-Weren’t you the one who gave it to me?
-I can assure you I didn’t!
-But I found this under that.
-Huh?!
-Look.
To his bewildered face, Midna was showing a small piece of paper in her hands. Using the corner of his eyes, Chris grabbed it and started to read.
Midna, if you wear what is under this clothing Chris will absolutely be charmed by you! Just remember to use what is in the pocket before anything. Love, mom!
(What were you thinking mom?!)
After he read the note, Chris couldn’t believe his own mother was the one behind it all. From the past week, during the times his mother was at home, she would be together with the girl and taught her some things while Chris was focused on his homework.
He didn’t know what they were talking about but the result of it was that the girl started to follow his mother’s instructions like they were orders. In other words, if she wrote her something like this, Midna would do it without question!
(She knew that and yet!)
-Is something wrong?
Without him realizing, the girl stood right in front of him and was looking curiously at his face. They had almost the same height, but for a moment, Chris’ eyes were going to look lower than they should before he quickly looked at hers.
-Yes, I’m fine, just to the bed!
Placing his hands on her shoulders, he turned Midna around and slowly pushed her toward the bed. Even if he was embarrassed by this situation, she still needed to rest.
In the middle of the room, she said:
-Chris, I got a question.
-Yes?
-What is this?
Between her fingers, Midna showed Chris a small plastic bag that contained a ring-like object inside. He stopped and looked at that small bag in disbelieve. He had only seen it during sex education and it was used as protection.
-Give me that!
Taking that from her hands, Chris examined the object and found another paper folded many times stuck with tape on one of its sides.
Go get her sweetie!
A single sentence followed by a hand-drew thumbs-up was written on the paper held on his trembling hands.
(Mom!)
He knew his mother wasn’t the most normal of them all, but everything had their limits. Screaming her name in his mind, he could imagine her smile face while looking at his distressed reaction.
-Chris?
Amidst his confusion, he saw that Midna had turned around to look at him but maybe because of her movements, one of the loose strings that held the nightgown felt down from the girl’s shoulder, and the other was about to follow his brother.
-N-N-Nothing is wrong! Besides that, let’s go grab something else for you to wear it!
If this continued, his teenager heart wouldn’t take it. He went to the wardrobe and looked for something less revealing for her to use, but this time he checked to see if anything was under them before giving to her and he was shocked.
Each clothes he checked had something even more shameless than what she was wearing. There was a blouse he thought it was okay for her until he saw what was under it, leaving him wondering if that could even be called underwear.
(Does she wear this everyday…?)
It was a question Chris was mad that a part of him was happy imagined the answer. He heard about lucky garments girl’s used when they wanted to go for the kill, but this was just insane.
-Chris, what is wrong?
While he was shocked to see the secrets of the wardrobe, Midna approached him from his back and Chris felt something soft hitting him.
-Midna, go to the bed!
-But I wanna see what you are doing.
-There is nothing good for you here!
-And what about that thing over there?
-Don’t touch! You don’t need to know about it!
-Hey, what would we use that thing you got?
-No! We will never use that! Never!
-Why not? It looks fun! Let me see!
-Stop that! Don’t push me to the ground!
-But you are not showing it to me.
-That’s because it’s not something for you to see-No, don’t open it!
-Weird…what does this do?
-Stop stretching it!
-It’s a little slimy and the scent is-
-Stop! Give it back!
Behind the door of what used to be the guest room, one could hear the noises inside and imagine that something was happening between a boy and girl that were together in it.
And near that room, there was a person who was leaning her back on the wall as she listened to what was going in the other side of that door and laughed. She arrived a while ago from her work but waited before going into the room because of her amusement.
-I wonder if I will see my grandchildren soon.

Yet, life knows to shit on you when things are just getting good. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello, author-san here! This is my first story, set up in a fantasy world. It's based on the medieval and steam era where magic is rare and alchemy is used widely used as a weapon by people. There would be lots of action, adventure, betrayal, tragedy, romance, etc. ahead. Warnings-The mc is a bit mean and foul-mouthed, introvert. There would be strong language and lots of monologue narration by the MC. The stories are fast-paced and progressing faster. The chapters update would be unstable, depending on my daily life. You would get fast updates... or slow. Also, English isn't my first language. So don't expect perfect grammar :( P.S. - I would like some constructive critique and feedback! It fills my motivation gauge and increases that rate of chapter/week. (/>3
