《Agnes of Raegma》Chapter 12~ Me

After I was a few feet away from the threatening black gates that dominated my parent’s home, I commanded:
“Make yourself visible”
"My Lady, are you sure it’s fine at this distance” Mordred appeared with a white lacy shirt and white gauze pants. Everything else but the wings and clothing were the same. The wings were gone obviously.
“You make it sound like I have ever cared” I retorted
“Very true, My Lady”
I smiled.
“This place, it is so different from Vetranos” Mordred commented.
“Is that so” I replied and brought out my IPhone 8S (AN: Sorry I just had to do it…) to check to time as I had forgotten to do so earlier.
“Tomorrow is the so called Christmas, right?” Mordred said softly.
“Uh-huh” I nodded. 4: 30pm, it read.
“Let’s take a look around! I feel like I haven’t been out in ages” I giggled and took a faster pace.
“You went shopping with Lady Madison---“
“Maddie” I corrected.
“Lady Maddie----”
“Remove the ‘Lady’”
“With Miss Maddie last week”
This sort of interaction with corrections was quite the norm for us that he wasn’t even fazed unlike the first time. ‘But he just replaces it…’
“So I did. But I was quite restricted, don’t you think?” I laughed loudly and dashed away while Mordred followed closely behind.
We soon arrived at Markey’s. It was a huge-and I mean HUGE- multipurpose store. (AN: Think the Galleria for those who know wt that is)
My eyes shown with interest as I’d been wanting to explore this place.
“Well damn, this place is as big on the inside” I said as we walked in.
Just like I expected, heads turned and eyes were closed.
Mordred was pretty much shining.
He pouted because he knew this was the reaction I sought after.
However no one bothered to approach us. I wonder why.
We kept walking without stopping to buy something then I saw a lady in the clothing department trying on a red velvet clothing. The dress was nice and all but the lady didn’t have the body to fulfill the requirements. In short, the dress was not looking pretty on her.
I cocked my head confused at why the employees would not tell her the obvious fact. What bullshit. As I was in quite a good mood, I decided to offer my advice.
I entered the shop the walked up to the lady and tapped her.
“Yes?” she turned around and gave me a small smile, “What do you want, young lady?”
“Young lady?!, she’s old enough to be----”
I elbowed Mordred in the gut before he could continue.
She stared at both of us her eyes saying, ‘what a cute couple. The man is beautiful’
“We are not a couple” I said swiftly.
She widened her eyes surprised at my tone and glanced at Mordred who was clutching his stomach.
“Sorry~ I didn’t mean to jump to conclusion” She said softly.
‘What a sweet woman’ I thought.
“That” I pointed to the dress she had on.
“Hmm?” she looked down and then back at me, “Oh! I know, it’s very pretty right?”
I nodded vigorously, “Yes. Very. But not on you”
Silence enveloped the whole clothing section at my words. They seemed suprised at the sudden spectacle.
I could feel countless eyes on me.
“E-Excuse me?” the woman’s tone went up a notch.
Ah, again first impression has failed me. I thought she was the calm type.
'Wait... again? when has first impression ever failed me?'
As I was in a situation, I shoved that thought to the back of my mind like everything else i deemed non important.

“That... everything is too small” I stated, "Look for something else that would suit you. You're pretty but your size doesn't fit this type of clothing”
She looked confused.
"Your assets... breast and so on. Too small for the dress", I explained
“Wha---! What a rude bitch!” she shrieked as her face flushed full of embarrassment and she raised her hand.
'Ugh, she is probably the hotblooded type. I didn't realize, I thought I had good perception'
Sighing inwardly, I didn't even bother to avoid her hand as I knew what would happen.
The hand never reached me.
I opened up my eyes which I had closed on reflex. Mordred is very protective.
Almost a bit too protective.
I wanted to know why but something wouldn’t let me ask that question. Something inside.
“Please do not raise your hand to My Lady” Mordred said, holding the fragile hand still in his grasp.
But of course that statement was misinterpreted into many heads as “Don’t touch my woman”.
But, isn’t that something boyfriend’s tell to a male when they are jealous? People’s brains are the weirdest things. I’d like to look inside one someday.
I sighed, “You’ll leave a mark Mordred. Let go”
“Yes” he said and slowly let go.
“Sorry but if I didn’t say it you’d have bought those clothes” I said facing the lady.
Her face was still red and with a ‘hmph’ she stomped off.
“That turned out well” I let out an accomplished smile. The lady was most definitely not buying that dress.
Mordred burst out into laughter.
He did this often usually randomly although I could get the reason for it this time somewhat.
“Come on, let’s go”
This place was huge as fuck. Humongous would actually be a better word.
We got on the escalator and scanned the sub shops.
More like Mordred just followed me but beside me.
He opted to walk behind me but I refused and told him to stand beside me.
At that he smiled and said, “Only in things such as this do you differ”
I smiled at that. It wasn’t like I was expecting to be exactly the same as I was before.
“Do not, and I repeat do not stand before me in battle! Shall we charge, I shall be before you and not behind nor beside. Your lives are in my hands and I shall do as I see fit. Heed my word! If you hear me say, let me hear you!”
My head felt like it was going to split. Elizabeth’s memories never hurt much, only a headache. So I realized. This is mine.
I couldn’t handle the impact and fell on the floor.
I felt myself being raised from the floor and moving.
‘Must be Mordred’ I thought as I lapsed into unconsciousness.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
‘Hot!’ was my first thought as I opened my eyes and sunlight streamed through.
‘Huh? Where am I?’ I patted myself to see my body intact but bare feet. Then I looked around. There were cluster of people everywhere.
'Did I lose some parts of me memory? I don't remember coming here' I thought.
“Hey, I am lost, could you help me?” I asked the first person I saw that was closest to me.
He made no move to do anything or say anything so I decided to tap him.
But my hand went through.
I barely stopped myself from screaming.
‘This…what is happening?’ I thought then I finally noticed.
It was not just that man. There were a lot of people. They numbered 130.
I didn’t manually count them. The number just came to me. Like I already knew this a long time ago.
I bit my lip unsure of the situation.
The majority of these men had steel armor. No, they weren’t just men. There were women too and hardly any of old age. They were chattering with excited faces. The women had long hair and weird features, so did the men.
Some women had my type of ears but longer and pointier and slender bodies and a very tiny diamond on their forehead. The diamonds were of different colors but all dark shades of the color but they were pretty.
The men of this feature were not as slender but were not bulky. Both men and women of this nature held a knife as pointy as compass needle that reflected off the sun and had a rune carved on its silver handle, on each hand. I will call these group of people ‘Point-diamonds’ for now.
The other side had extremely huge men that reminded me of Wilson and their faces had scars more often than not. The women were mainly muscle however their beauty was outstanding as it contrasted with their frame. These muscle group had one thing in common. Bushy tails.
‘They have tails but no ears, huh. Those usually go together’ I thought.
This particular group held axes of different variations and sizes and curved blades. I will call them Big-tails.
The other group was stout and had claws. Well they had my type of hand except much more rugged. Who was female and male was quite debatable. They had daggers, short sword and axes. I will call them dwarves.
Of course they were many other variations but these were the main population.
However not all of them had a weapon. Some just stood around with no sort of weapon but these had silver armor unlike the iron one’s the rest had.
There was one thing they all had in common though. A gray streak of hair that was longer than the rest of their hair and a purple crest of a horned eagle on their shoulders.
Once again, I wondered. Where the hell am I?
“Haha, what do you think the outcome of this will be Grandi?” a point-diamond man was speaking.
“Total decimation, do you have to ask?” the bulky man supposedly Grandi replied.
“Expect no less from her Majesty! She only lets us on the field to fuel our blood lust” A dark skinned point-diamond spoke with a gloating air. She wore silver armor.
“Ah Celeste, arm please” a big-tail spoke holding out his arm that was turning yellow.
“Hmph, to think you didn’t notice that the sword was laced in decaying magic” She scoffed and her hands glowed a shade of blue-green and the yellow on the hand began to disappear revealing healthy skin, “You’re lucky that Edgar stopped it from going any further”
“I did what any one in that position would do” A dwarven man spoke softly, leaning on his short sword as he sat crosslegged on the grass.
‘His soft voice doesn’t suit his look’ I thought as I stared at the rugged man.
“Eh~ “Eddy is co calm when Her Majesty isn’t here~” a busty big-tail laughed teasingly.
The man known as Edgar made no comment.
“Celeste, Rock is just a rank 100 fighter~. It’s even commendable that he survived” the busty big-tail continued.
“Truly he is just a Craven, right? Even I forget sometimes” the dark skinned known as Celeste said.
“Wha--- don’t call me a craven” the big-tail being referred to as Rock scoffed, "I am stronger than those"
“Then hurry up and become an Ardent. You are at the last stage” Celeste retorted back.
“Says the rank 20 Warlock" the busty big-tail teased.
Celeste pouted a bit sad, “Yea, yea. I am trying”
The busty big-tail just smiled.
They were an interesting group of individuals. From this little interaction, I could see the ‘Craven’ was the weakest and the busty big-tail was the strongest seeing as no one stopped her from talking.
However to think of my current situation, I had to know how I got here plus it was definitely better that they couldn’t see me or else I’d be killed on sight.
“Hey Mordred, do you know where we are?” I asked.
No reply.
‘Mordred’ I directed my thoughts to him.
But still no reply.
‘Could it be I am here alone?’ I wondered.
A slight rustling could be heard and many placed their hands on their weapons while the some other’s hands started to glowed blue.
“You retards!” a voice boomed through the area and even the trees around shook. Looking around now, we were in some sort of forest in the afternoon. How stupid of me to not even realize.
All the men and women scurried to their feet and stood up smart and halted all activities.
“How dare you dilly dally on the battle field!!” the same voice roared. I was a bit confused as I kind of knew this voice.
‘Dilly dally?’ I thought.
“Do you guys really think acting like soldiers who have been alert is going to work?” came another voice from the sky. One that I recognized very well.
And something descended into the midst of the people shattering them like leaves and a figure stood up majestically and when the dust cleared an angel stood there with a smirk. His black wings slowly dropped from their outspread position.
“Mordred” I gasped.
He looked in my direction and I held my breath, surprised, “Venice, you joined them, right?" he rebuked.
Then I breathed out, though a bit surprised.
The busty big-tail called Venice laughed, “Don’t be so strict”
“You as the captain should be strict!” the first voice first .
And Venice’s smile disappeared as swiftly as it had come.
Slowly, the feet of the mysterious voice advanced. Each step vibrated in my ears. This voice, I knew it. But who did it belong to? I wondered curious to see but my body wouldn’t move in the direction.
First the feet appeared. Covered in sapphire boots.
And then the body was revealed. I looked on to see a body covered in sapphire armor that shone like treasure in the sunlight and a bright gold crest of a horned eagle embed on the chest area. The armor had shoulder plates that stood like wings. By the left hand, was a black and gold scabbard and the sword embedded in the scabbard emanated a terrifying aura from within. The same arm held a golden chain that gave off a purple hue with a piercer hung. Both hands had extremely long fingernails.
On the head lay a crown. It was a crown of sapphire and it had a V shaped front with two ends pointed to the sky and on this V was a clear diamond that gleamed with a golden hue while the base of the crown hugged the skull. Long flowing blonde hair wavered in the wind and fierce blue eyes scanned the populace.
I stared at the ever familiar face.
This was me, with pointier ears and longer nails.
Recovery of a Life
The prince of a kingdom was erased from the world. His very existence an enigma. Follow Xopil as he forces his life into a world that refuses to acknowledge his presence. I tried to write a novel without including all the standard things you find in certain genres, or if it is included, I hope it's at least a fresh take on it, this includes me breaking the fourth wall, probably too much. I'm wondering if that helped with humor at all, and also reconsidering if that should be a part of the story. I'm going to be rewriting every chapter at this point... and that chapter I'm extremely disappointed with could likely be deleted if not redone entirely. Now that this story is marked 'completed', I'll be going through each chapter and fleshing out the story a bit, as I found it severely lacking, and I've been saying to myself "I could have done more with that." way more often than I should be. And that speaks to my own dissatisfaction with my writing. I make no warranty-express or implied-as to the quality of these chapters, or the story as a whole. Cover art by Roman Valeyev
