《Ancient Cultivator in Modern World》Chapter 48: Continent of Pride[10]

The current patriarch of the Divine Dragon Sect stared at him, his eyes widened in shock, his figure visibly trembling.
Khan's words reverberated inside his mind like a thunderclap, sending all of his thoughts into disorder, he glanced at Lily's body and found that the most important barrier within her lower body was broken, his mouth opened in disbelief, and his body violently swayed as the scene before him turned blurry.
His brain felt like it was going to explode from the violent rushes of blood rushing through his head.
His hand trembled, slowly pointing a finger towards Khan.
"Y-y-you!"
His face flushed red with incomparable anger as the air that surrounded Khan started to distort, the gentle breeze of the wind transformed into a tempest which encompassed the entire hall.
His golden armor shone with an intense light that it illuminated the entire hall. The Sect Master almost wanted to slap Khan in the head, "Kid, I was going to try and coax him into marrying Lily with you, but look at what you did!"
He clenched his teeth and summoned a barrier which enveloped the three.
"Kid, what are you doing?!" the Sect Master was startled to find that Khan walked out of the range of his barrier and faced the focused anger of a peak Divine Ascendance Realm powerhouse on his own.
Khan closed his eyes and felt the stinging sensation akin to a thousand needles striking his skin, although his fleshly body had improved after he ate the Immortal Peach, without beckoning the strength of his Qi, his body still hasn't recovered enough to endure the anger that the patriarch mustered.
Soon, his body became wretched with streaks of wounds, his body looked like he just came out of a blood pool, his clothes tattered and he became extremely miserable.
But his eyes still had the cold look in it, as if he never cared about the pain that he felt.
"Old geezer, have you gone senile?!" the Sect Master's angered roar resonated within the hall, his entire might of a Half-step Emperor exploded within his body, forcefully suppressing the tempest that materialized in the hall.
"Brother, are you intent on stopping me?" A solemn and dignified voice echoed in the air, as a figure, clad in a shining golden armor emerged from the smoke of dust.
"Stopping you? You're the one being unreasonable here, at least listen to my disciple's explanation!" the Sect Master threw his head back and retorted.
"Explain? There's nothing to explain, I already found out about what happened to my daughter's body... And you want him to take responsibility? What a farce, he isn't even at the realm of the Divine Soul, yet he came strutting in like he owned the sect, even if he's your disciple, I will not tolerate such insolence!"

the Sect Master clicked his tongue, 'Damn, now that this old geezer is provoked, it will be hard to be logical...'
'Oh well, I'll just pummel logic on his body.' His figure flashed as they met in the skies, causing several booming sounds to rang out as a fierce battle ensued.
Lily stared at the bloodied Khan with tears spilling from her eyes, she moved out of the barrier and embraced him with all of her might.
Khan felt the embrace and said, "You idiot! Why did you leave the barrier?!" He scolded her, yet her hold around him only tightened in response.
"What are you doing... I don't want to lose you, yet..." Her tone soft and gentle like the morning breeze, the tears that streamed down her cheeks dampened Khan's exposed back.
Khan raised his hand, placed it on her head and rubbed. Lily's eyes narrowed with the sudden sensation, she stared at Khan who looked at her with a warm smile on his face.
The deafening sounds that continuously roared within the room didn't disturb the sweet atmosphere that surrounded the two, instead, they embraced and felt each other's warmth.
the golden figure who struggled in fighting the powered up Sect Master noticed that the two embraced each other. His face became scarlet red as his anger soared towards the heavens.
"I'm staking my life fighting this old bastard, yet, you two! You two, are!"
the Sect Master frowned as he felt the intensity of the old geezer's attack intensified, he followed his gaze and raised his thumb up, "Nice!"
Khan stared at Lily's mouth that was slightly opened, and couldn't even bother to care about the angered father and just tasted her cherry-like lips.
the soaring golden figure turned blank upon seeing the scene, the Sect Master leaked a victorious smile on his face and shouted, "An opening!"
Bang!
A powerful collision of energies detonated in the air, Khan hugged the beauty and shielded her from the rubbles that came flying down.
The dust that flew in the air started to simmer down, the demolished scene of the hallway became even more battered.
On the wall, the figure of the Sect Master could be seen groaning in pain, towards this sight, Khan only gave a small smile.
"Damn it, old geezer, to think that you would use that ridiculous ability..."
"That's cheating..." the Sect Master indignantly spoke as he stood up and rubbed his aching body.
The golden figure on the opposite direction also stood up, their gazes met in mid-air before descending down to Khan.

A hint of helplessness shone in the golden figure's eyes as he saw that her daughter embraced the Sect Master's direct disciple.
"Kid, I admit, with your master as your backing, you're qualified to take my daughter as your bride..."
"But do you really want to rely on your connections to marry her?" Lily's father leaked a cunning smile, his gaze focused on Khan's expression that remained indifferent and cold.
Khan thought, 'So he's trying to gauge my ability, fine then, I'll show him what I'm capable of.' His gaze momentarily stopped on the figure's arms and frowned when he didn't see something that he had expected.
"Of course, I don't intend to rely on the Sect Master, I will rely on my own ability." Khan's eyes shone with a determined light, the patriarch nodded in return.
"Good, then, Let's get rid of all the annoying ceremonies and settle this with a simple endurance test." the patriarch leaked a sly smile, that didn't escape Khan's perception.
"Endurance test?" Khan murmured.
"Yeah, I will suppress my realm to your realm and then we'll take turns striking each other's body, the one who collapses first shall win."
the Sect Master who stood at the side couldn't but say, "Old geezer, stop trying to bully my disciple! Don't think that I don't know about your Race's recuperative capabilities!"
"Hmmph! This is the highest compromise that I could do, If he isn't willing, then he shall pay with his life for taking my daughter's body." His eyes shone with a critical light, prompting the Sect Master to sigh.
However, he silently gathered his Qi, preparing to save Khan if something goes wrong.
"What is your choice?!" He shouted at Khan and the latter nodded in return.
Seeing Khan nod his head, rumbling sounds echoed within the patriarch's body as he forcefully reduced his cultivation base to the peak of Spirit Tempering Realm.
However, in the next instant, booming roars rang inside his body as his figure transformed into a thirty meter Nature Dragon, stunning the Sect Master and Lily into a trance.
But to this sight, Khan only gave a small smile, as if the matter of the patriarch transforming didn't decrease his chances of winning.
"Old fogy! That's cheating!" the Sect Master angrily shouted.
"Did I say that transforming is forbidden?" A dignified voice rang from the dragon's mouth as its wings that seemed to encompass the entire hall stretched.
In comparison, Khan's figure looked like an ant before a mountain, ready to be crushed.
"Kid, I hate to tell you this but it's too late to say your regrets!"
"Father, no! Stop this! Khan will die!" Lily cried in anguish, for the heaviness of a dragon alone could stomp anyone to death, She didn't doubt that Khan would definitely die if he was crushed.
"Shut up! Unfilial child! You disappeared for ten whole years, yet when you finally came back, you brought a man with you! You don't have a say on this!" the Nature Dragon howled in anger, causing the air around it to seethe.
"Now, let's start! Kid! I shall give you the honor of the first strike!" the Nature Dragon even dispelled the natural defenses that surrounded its body, prompting Khan to inwardly laugh.
If one didn't know about anything, they would certainly say that Khan would definitely lose, for a human cannot fight a beast with the same cultivation as them, much less those that have a Divine Bloodline running through their veins.
Khan estimated the Nature Dragon's strength and found that even though its cultivation was at the peak of Spirit Tempering Realm, it could fight toe to toe with a middle stage Divine Soul Realm human practitioner.
But he still remained unfazed, for Khan knew innumerable secrets about the Nature Dragons especially their bodies.
"What's wrong, kid? Did you piss yourself or something?" the Nature Dragon vulgarly laughed, attempting to provoke Khan.
"Since father-in-law is in such a hurry, I will end this in one strike." Khan smiled, his words almost made the Sect Master choke in his saliva.
'The hell is this kid, saying? One strike? What boastfulness...'
"Hahahahahaha!" the Nature Dragon atrociously laughed, as if it heard the biggest joke in the entire millennia.
"One strike, you say? If you could even scratch me in one strike, I will kowtow and acknolw-" It didn't manage to complete his sentence, for Khan's figure already buried a punch deep in its body.
Green motes of light scattered in the air, amidst the shocked gazes of the spectators, the Nature Dragon's transformation of the patriarch crumbled, leaving only his unconscious body, fallen on the ground.

If I can deliver on all that is another question, but I will give it my best. As a further note, I am not using any of the usual strict realms and extreme power differences. It’s more about gathering and refining qi. Whoever uses his chances, sneak attacks, intuitions, and skills in a better way wins. However, having more or better qi will help, but I am not at a point where I have written a lot of that, so I might promise too much. Thanks for reading so far and checking my synopsis out, now you might give the story a try. Have fun. The picture is from JCK5D (Pixabay)

Arenya has a long road ahead of her, with rival students, duels with demons, and a host of benchmarks she must pass in order to keep her scholarship. Will she make it to level 100 and beyond, or die too many times and be forced to return home, tail (literally) between her legs to a life of farming and dreaming of adventure? BladeMage is a LitRPG with a lighter focus on stats. It features battles, leveling up, giant monsters, a bit of fanservice, and more. [Update: The LitRPG elements are proving themselves relatively unimportant as I continue to write. They may be dropped entirely, in which case I will change the prior chapters as well as update this description.] Content warnings: As a story featuring lots of fighting, there will be blood and death. However, since characters rarely die permanently, this will not be a hyperviolent story with extreme gore for the sake of it. Some sexual content and fanservice may be included, but this should remain firmly at the PG-13 level and there will be no sexual violence of any kind. The Cover: Someone suggested that I should have a dragon girl with a miniskirt on the cover. I can't draw and I don't know who to ask or commission, so a few minutes in the GNU Image Manipulation Program and the masterful cover above was created! Please feel free to use your imagination to see a gorgeous half-dragon with azure hair, wings, and a tail, holding a lightning-infused sword while fighting demons.
