Chapter 27 – Ignis Tribe
I went to bed. Weariness of trip and change in environment had kind of paralyzed me. My eyes closed as soon as I laid on bed.
Knock. Knock. Knock… I didn’t want to open my eyes. Another few knocks on the door. I felt an ominous aura surrounding me. I jumped up and saw a maid in front of the bed. I was in shock.
She was tiny. Had a black and white maid clothes on her. Her skin color was unnaturally white.
[Maid]: Demon Lord wishes to see you.
[Me]: Ok. I’ll be ready in a minute.
She didn’t leave the room and waited for me to get dressed up. I followed her out of my room to another one. It was a large bedroom. Door was on the left side of the room. On opposite side there were two big armchairs. On the right side from the entrance there was a king size bed which was covered by red curtains. The demon lord was sitting on one of the armchairs, his black armor illuminated by the lights of the moon.
[Kimbra]: Françoise, you may leave.
The maid left the room.
[Kimbra]: Aslan, I’m very sorry to disturb your sleep.
[Me]: Lord has to have his reasons for it, I assume.
[Kimbra]: I wanted to have private chat with you and didn’t want any of your companions to listen to our conversation.
[Me]: Lord Kimbra, if you expect me to do what I think you want from me… (Demon Lord stopped me by raising left hand.)
[Kimbra]: Why don’t you come and sit?!
I went and sat in the armchair across to the one she was sitting on.
[Kimbra]: Aslan, sword that you were using while fighting Karan is of demonic origin. Long time ago I was told of weapon that a demon named Rai used, which in description is similar to yours.

[Me]: I do not remember exactly who gave it to me, but it has been with me few years.
[Kimbra]: What about the thing inside you? I feel another presence of a demonic realm inside you.
[Me]: Do you know about the wolf?
[Kimbra]: It’s weak but it is there. It’s weak because it has been merged with you but you are not aware of its power yet.
I overreacted to her words and spoke my thoughts without cutting out some parts.
[Me]: Ulfberht told me that it was a gift from Lord Tyre but I took it as a curse because I had problem until recently with it.
[Kimbra]: You have been to the Temple of Tyre and accepted the gift He had left. Hahaa. I thought that was a tale but seeing you now changes my mind. You are interesting; an interesting persona Aslan. The more I get to know you the more I like you.
I was astonished at Kimbra’s words and was puzzled at them.
[Kimbra]: Long time ago there was a Demon Lord who had outer appearance which was similar to beast man and human but was of demonic origin. Their tribe had lived in demon lands for thousands of years. Normally they were in their human forms but in case of anger and/or fight they could transform into a beast man. The difference between them and beast men were that they could use magic but beast men cannot.
[Me]: What happened to them?
[Kimbra]: The last one left alive of the tribe after killing the dragon was Demon Lord Tyre. He was injured badly in the fight with the Akira, the red dragon. The story is that a temple was built accordingly and he left to otherworld but his power was contained in the temple as a gift to anyone who could contain it within their body. His three generals committed suicide to follow their commander to the otherworld but their souls were bound to the temple until the day gift was given to the one. Rai was one of those legendary generals.

I was lost in thought; trying to perceive what I was told.
[Kimbra]: I may help you to revive the power!
[Me]: In exchange for what? (You know nothing is free in this world!)
[Kimbra]: After the awakening you will have to spend a night with me!
[Me]: But you are a male!!?!
The armor began to disperse into air. The small parts that broke away from black armor turned to white snowflakes and disappeared. A nude woman appeared underneath the armor. She had her left leg on top of her right one. There were black metallic ornaments with red stones on them a bit up her feet and around her hands. There were flames coming out of them. Her hair color was flamish red and her big busts were covered in flames too.
In a very beautiful and mesmerizing voice…
[Kimbra]: You do not expect a Demon Lord run around in a state like this.
[Me]: I-i do notttt.
[Kimbra]: I am Demon Lord Kimbra, the last of the Ignis tribe.

Legends of Balarel - A Leisurely LitRPG
Glenn Redwood has longed to become an Adventurer since he was a young boy, and has focused every waking moment on that goal since turning 14. Answering the challenge of the Gods of Balarel, he has fought Monsters, Leveled, and grown stronger. Yet the day before his 16th birthday, the day he will earn his dream or lose it forever ... the Gods have made a wager. And no mere mortal wishes to draw the attention of the Gods. ***** This is my crack at writing a leisurely LitRPG. My focus is more on telling interesting stories set in a world where people live under a MMORPG-like ruleset enforced by the Gods, and less on writing another story where the MC gets massive stat boosts every chapter before heading off to wreck the world. There will be plenty of blue tables (it’s LitRPG!) but my Adventurers are just starting out. This fic is about the journey, not the destination, so expect everyone to Level ... leisurely. Updates: M-T-W-Th. I’ll post 3000-4000 words a day, or 12000-15000 words a week. If this posting pace ends up being too much for me, I reserve the right to slow posts down a bit. Inspirations: Blessed Time (Royal Road) Is It Wrong To Try To Pick Up Girls In a Dungeon? (Anime) Trails in the Sky (JRPG Series) MC: My MC is a genuinely good person who’s both a talented warrior and tactically savvy. He prefers to solve problems without violence but will resort to force if necessary to protect his friends or innocent people. I’m tired of stories starring anti-hero MCs facing endless doom and gloom, so I wanted to write a nice guy with an adventurous spirit who helps people in a thriving fantasy world. That’s all.
