《Wolf's Cry》Chapter 39 - Show off!

I wanted to write it for long time but was forgetting each time I was posting a chapter. It’s about Aslan’s father, why he had hatred towards him and wanted to kill him. The thing is some characters were prototypes of real people who I know. Father in this case is the prototype of the binge drinkers and alcoholics who I had the chance to meet. My father was one, throughout my childhood I have no good memory of him as a proper father except few times. Whenever he was at home he was drunk and whatever… For long time I thought he was the only stereotype of an alcoholic father but I met more as I grew up. I have an employee of mine who has the exact same life. I have met many more who struggle with alcohol. It may seem cool and attractive but you can’t wrestle with alcohol. It does not matter how big you are or how alcohol tolerant you are; after few more shots it will take over. I wanted to focus on an alcoholic father character to bring up the matters such as those to young people who could read the story and take initiative from this story as future fathers to be more responsible, same applies for women too. I just didn’t go into the subject for god knows what reason. Just you know, some of the chapters that you have read or will read are based more or less on real life with some flavors of fiction.
I enjoy writing and to tell the truth I didn’t expect Wolf’s Cry to be this popular in just 17 days. Thank you all for your kind attention!

Chapter 39 – Show off!
Wyrm went out. Was he becoming attached to Luna so that he didn’t want to see her hurt?
She lay her head on my shoulder and hugged me back. I let my right hand drift to her thigh. We had a kiss but she parted her lips and began to suck my tongue. I didn’t go over the board that night as my pride and dignity won’t let me overtake the helplessness of a lost soul. We slept together, Luna’s head on my shoulder.

For few days after the night her eyes avoided me at all costs. She was acting insecure when we were together and blabbering nonsense. I feared the idea that she fell in love with me. The wyrm got bigger in last few weeks and was almost as tall as a horse. Everyone was in awe whenever he was around. His spiky “hair” and massive wings were impressing everybody. I knew how big it was going to get but still couldn’t find a way to kill it off without damaging the summoner and familiar bond that we three shared.
Luna had become the Duchess of the Wallington House and was going to attend an official ceremony in the royal palace for king to approve her as his representative over the domains she held. I was waiting for it to happen with four eyes open because it was going to be the first time ever where I could meet the best magicians of the kingdom who were living, experimenting and working under king’s direct mentorship in an observatory called Landgrave.
We left to capital city of the kingdom. It was called Prissé. This time Luna was always sitting in a horse-drawn carriage all the time. Coachman was driving from the box seat of the carriage. Six horses were mounted to carriage. She was sitting on the back seat of the carriage and people had a chance to view their duchess. Two cavalrymen were riding in front of the carriage while at least 16 of them behind it. Gorn was walking on the right side of the carriage while I was sitting inside on opposite direction to Luna.
Prissé was a city of massive cosmopolitan city. Just for you to imagine what I mean by massive, Mehn City from my own world was like a one sixth of the Prissé. It had a part which was restricted to royalty and nobody else were welcome there unless invited. Royal estate of the Kingdom of Marlings, the Beaumont palace was in the center of the restricted area. The palace was built almost a millennia ago, but was well preserved. It was as if time stood still in the palace. Beaumont palace was like a missing link of history between past and present. Gorn and I were staying with Luna.

Cavalrymen and carriages were tended somewhere else. The ceremony was to be held day after our arrival and dukes, duchesses and other direct subjects of the king were arriving with us to the palace.
Two massive doors of gold plated carvings opened. Luna entered first, Gorn and I were following behind. Male or female, everybody had their best clothing reserved for today. She was walking very slowly in a ladylike manner. There were dukes, duchesses, high magicians, relatives of the royal family, members of the high court and so on standing on our right and left with few meters of distance. I was wearing black leather pants and nothing on top except the wolf’s skin and was kind of showing off my tattoos. I had wolf’s head on top of mine. Ulfberht was in his sword form. Wyrm, as always, had an indifferent attitude.
King Bartholomew Beaumont was sitting on a throne which was 5-6 steps above the ground and his wife Queen Matilda Beaumont was sitting on another throne which was a step or two below the king’s. Luna bowed but neither I nor Gorn made a move. Matilda was beautiful. Bartholomew had an aura and image of a king. He had an excellent build. He had long black and white beard which made him look different than any other man in the crowd. He had a huge husky by his side which I assumed was his familiar.
[Bartholomew]: Luna von Raden, I have heard of your deeds.
[Luna]: Ut sementem feceris ita metes!
[Matilda]: Beautiful and smart.
[Bartholomew]: Merciless.
[Matilda]: Brave too.
[Bartholomew]: I would have done the same, so you will not be ashamed of your past deeds and will serve the kingdom until your last breathe. I deem you worthy and appoint you as Duchess to the house of Wallington.
She bowed and smiled.

[Bartholomew]: You really have summoned two familiars!
[Luna]: yes, my king.
[Bartholomew]: I was told they can speak too!
[Luna]: Yes, my king.
He looked at Gorn but avoided his gaze. Humans always have self-preservation instinct and in this case it warned king not to play around with Gorn. My eyes met his.
[Bartholomew]: You have a distinctive clothing.
[Me]: I am a warrior.
[Bartholomew]: A warrior, who has a dog’s skin on his body.
[Me]: It’s wolf’s skin.
[Bartholomew]: Swordstorm!
The husky stood on its four and began to walk towards me in an aggressive manner showing its teeth and growling a bit. I didn’t want to hurt king’s pride but he gave me no spare room to maneuver. I pushed wolf’s head back to my spine and began to transform. My hair grew up to my shoulders. Swordstorm got scared, and stopped moving. I hadn’t done it for a long time but I couldn’t stop the urge. I howled for a minute or so. Everyone was terrified. I could feel some trembling in fear.
[Bartholomew]: Hahaaaa. What a show off!
