《An Adventure Of Memories》Chapter 2: Park-Hyeon - It's only been seven years.

I took Cerise to my room’s terrace, by a secret passage. “You can open your eyes now.” I pulled her beside me and leant against the stone railing.
“Wow!!! This is the best sunset I’ve ever seen!" She pulled out her phone to take a picture, kept it away then she looked at me, she caressed my face with her hand, her face looked shy, “It’s been seven years you know. You’ve changed a lot, everything except your eyes. The kindest eyes I ever saw.” She gave me a peck on the cheek, then her hand left my face to let herself lean against the railing.
“Were you lonely without me?” I asked, still staring at the sun, the clouds above were little swirls and lines, some cute and some thin, some grey others white, it was like a painting, I turned over and looked up at the sky as it became darker, rested my elbows on the railing, I turned my head to look at her, “Hello? Could answer my question?”
“Hm, yeah I was lonely. I stayed in isolation for a year and two months, then I got over it. I tried to forget about you, so that I wouldn’t feel too sad. But I always remembered you, in my dreams sometimes, or just when someone used to act like you.”
“But don’t you………hate me?” “I mean, I left you alone, for so many years, without saying goodbye or anything.”
She smiled, “Oh, for that. I got really pissed off, but I’ll take my revenge for that later.”
“I just want to, you know. Make new memories, and try to make up, for the time we lost, revenge isn’t on the top of my to-do list.” She yawned, she looked like a cat, so much like a wild leopard.

“Hey. About leaving you-” she covered my mouth with her hands, “No. Absolutely no bringing up old, bad memories. We. Are. Here. To. Make. New. Good. Memories. Not to resurface old ones. Understood?”
I held my hands up in surrender, “Good.” She let me go, and when she turned, she moved to the room behind us, just till the window glass, "I bet this is your room.”
“Yeah.”
She turned again and looked at the now sky, which was dark black, with blue and purple. She walked towards to me, “It’s getting dark, this reminds me of the time we were at your old house, next to mine in the woods, the time we went up that tree and stayed there because we couldn’t climb down. You held me close to you, even though the eagles in that tree scratched and clawed you a million times, you were so brave, just to keep me safe. And I…I did nothing to help you, I just cried.”
I felt her sadness and pain, did I make her go through all this when I left her? No, no it’s not right. Suddenly my hands moved on their own, and I held her still, against the glass window of my room, and I kissed her, as hard yet gently as I could.
Her hands hooked around my neck, pulling me closer to her, and we just kissed for a while standing there, as night dawned upon us. A while later, we stopped kissing, I stepped away from her, and I looked into her eyes, which was still dazed from the sudden kiss I gave her, what is wrong with me? Why did I just kiss her like that? Aren’t we supposed to be friends? I thought as we both stood there in awkward silence,.

She spoke up first, her voice soft, “You……You kissed me……”
“Yeah, sorry about that, I don’t know what got into me. Just, just forget about it. It was a mistake.”
She smiled and said, “Ok.”. Her whole personality changed from her shy and cute self to her cool and calm demeanor, “You should check what time it is.”
Reuniting may be sad or happy.
But one thing’s for sure,
It will happen at some point in time, whether it be late or soon.

Mortals never got an answer for this question. Finding an exact definition didn’t matter for them, what they knew was that a soul allowed reincarnation.
