Chapter 27: Remind Me Not to Piss You Off
I started to walk back out of that room that seemed like it confined me forever. Also, now that I’ve decided to take her in, this little creature lazing on top of my head made me wonder about my privacy. Meimei clutched to my hair just like how a little girl clutch onto her Mother’s skirt.
Does she thinks I’m her parent or what?
While musing about pointless things, I pushed through the door—where I originally came from—and the very first thing that awaited my sinful self was a pair of beautiful elves. If these two didn’t wore different clothing, it would be hard to distinguish which one is which. How did an old man like Gordon seduced someone as pretty as Cecillia again?
“Fufu, how did it go?”
“Welcome back.”
I couldn’t help but break a smile after seeing them. I was showered with a look of happiness by Cecillia as her gaze lift up to this little thing.
“Thanks for taking care of her for me.”
I'm not sure why I had to say it but, in regards to her and Gordon's knowledge, and as to who I really am, I had to show my appreciation.
“Gordon would be glad to know.”
Her smile broadened, as if she smiled Gordon's portion as well. I picked up Meimei and showed her to Cecillia.
“Oi, show your thanks as well.”
I spanked her butt with my pinky, but it was Celica who talked first.
“Hmm, I have heard from Mother what’s inside here, but I never expected a homunculus this advance,” She inspected Meimei closer.
“Homunculus? Do not compare Meimei to such lower life forms!”
Meimei darted around Celica, her cheeks pumped with blood.
“Weeh! She floats?!” Celica backed away in surprise.
"Mufufufu, surprise aren't we? That's just one of the many skills that Master bestowed upon Meimei!"
Meimei landed on top of my head. Although I can't see what type of expression she's making, her haughty tone made me visualize her haughty posture.
“And you… made this…… thing?” Celica gave me a look full of doubt.
“Well, even I’m confused.” I put a palm on my face as I blew a sigh.
“What is she exactly?”
“I’d like to explain, but that can wait until we have everybody else. My companions are waiting for me and there's a few questions I have to confirm with Gordon.”
Cecillia nods her head. “Indeed, it’s better to explain it all at once.” Cecillia started to walk up the stairs. “For now let’s return to the surface.”
“Mhm.”
Celica followed after her Mom as quick as her first step. It seems now that things have calmed down, she’s afraid of me again. I’m just glad that she’s forfeited on taking my life.
Since there is nothing left for me to do here, I followed after them as well. And well, my personal view while climbing the stairs made me smirk in delight.
We returned to the surface using the secret entrance that Cecillia took. She pressed her hand on the wall—just a little further before we would’ve reached the stairs—and the rock moved, revealing an entryway.

I stretch my arms and bask myself under the radiant sun flowing from that small hole that lights this cave.
“Eh? Where’s my clothes? I remember leaving them here before…”
Celica said behind me. Curious, I turned around and check for myself. It should be lying somewhere on this room before we entered the underwater passage, unless someone took it.
Our eyes unconsciously move towards Cecillia.
“No! Not me!” Cecillia responded before we could begin to interrogate—which made her the most suspicious person in this room.
“Then who would?!” Celica approached her mom and vigorously shook her head.
“Aiyeyeyeye!”
And while their busy with their mishaps, I saw something flashed at the very corner of my eyes. A crimson light moved and vanished, quick as I saw it pulse.
“Celica…”
“Nm?!”
I called out to her. When she turned her head in response to my voice, she had a sullen face and was almost glaring at me. Her mom had stars flying on top of her head. Or that’s what it appears to be like.
To be frank, I don’t think they’ll be much of help right now.
“Master, be careful…”
Right after Meimei’s warning, I reached for my sword, but my hands only encountered empty space. That’s right, Celica has my sword.
There was silence around me, except for the explosion of water coming from the waterfall. A silence that stretched and dragged. I feel my body cramping with the tension of the stillness, yet I did not dare move. I was silently scanning the area with my eyes.
………………………………BAM!
Something or whatever that shadow was, moved and pinned me down. She rubbed her head on my chest like a puppy stretching after sleep. It was one of the most outrageous cuteness I’ve seen, so I patted her head that’s leaning on my upper torso.
“Ugh, Meles, you could’ve warned me first.”
“That’s right, your actions could have hurt my Master!”
“Umu, but what’s this little creature?”
Meles’ sudden appearance was already in my deductions, but not exactly in this type of situation. Good thing I didn’t hit my head on a rock or else my soul will already be flying its way to heaven. That’s how hard she threw me down.
“Hiyaaa!”
Meimei shot her right fist on Meles’ cheek, but Meles merely shrugged her off.
“Ora ora ora ora!!”
And her series of jabs continues……
Meles looks up to me. “Should I bother?”
“Just let her be.”
While this little girl is busy with her frantics, the two elves looks down at me. Cecillia has a wide smile spreading on her cheeks while her daughter looks down at me in contempt. There is no need to say a word, Celica thinks I’m a worthless scum.
Which reminds me…
“Meles, did you see any clothes here?”
Meles reacted as if she remembered something.
“Oh those…”
“Those?”
“Yes, I burned them. After shredding them to pieces that is.”
I can see Celica trembling behind her, but she waited to speak until she’s calm and steady.
“Why do you feel the need to burn my clothes?!”
In the end, there was anger mixed in with her voice.
Meles chuckled. “Because it irked me and I wanted to?”
Celica fisted her hands on her side. “Kuuhhh…”
Their actions made me sigh, again. I think my life would be full of sighs from now on.

I raised a hand and gestured Meimei to stop. “That’s enough Meimei.”
After hearing my request, Meimei sneered at Meles one more time before flying back to my head. Meles hoisted herself up and helped me get up on my feet afterwards.
“How’s Remi?”
I ask the moment I regained my balance.
“She’s doing okay. I left her at the camp.”
“I’m sorry I had to break our promise.”
Meles nodded. “Even though Kansouke was late, I decided to wait for one more day, but a sudden bright light covered the entire forest, which worried me in turn. After seeing that light, I traced its origin and I ended up in this place.”
“Bright light?”
As I think about that part that had gotten me confused, my eyes traveled to Cecillia again.
She answered my questioning gaze. “I apologize, but I don’t know what’s the purpose of that light myself. Perhaps you have a better chance knowing by asking Meimei?”
Indeed, if that light originated from this place, then it without a doubt happened after I unsealed Meimei. Thinking about that, a question abruptly left my mouth.
“Meimei, can you explain?”
“I’m sorry, Master. But since Master denied from accepting the truth before, Meimei is prohibited from explaining any further details.”
The truth eh? I feel like the more I delve into these memories, more troubles would sprout on their own. That’s probably the reason why Tersa wanted me to wait.
After reaching a conclusion, I decided to pushed the thoughts outside of my head. Although I said I will push it out of my thoughts for now, learning about the truth this very moment and setting it aside for some other time is actually harder than I thought.
I only replied with a simple “I see.”
“Anyways, we need some introductions. Meles, start by introducing yourself, neh?”
I insisted as I don’t want her to appear rude to these people that I’m indebted to. But since she’s already drawn first blood by burning Celica’s clothes, I think that would be a hard thing to accomplish now. Nevertheless, I want her to try.
“Do… I have to?”
“Yes, they’re my clients. So please?”
“Errr, if it’s what Kansouke—”
“No, don’t always say it like that,” I stopped her usual words. “I want you to be able to make decisions for yourself.”
It was my fault for being too lenient that Meles turned out like this, that’s why it’s also my responsibility to guide her back towards the right track.
Meles turned around and face the two elves.
“Sophia… Meles…… Just… Meles is fine.” Meles said unsteadily, like a sudden pain clutched her throat.
“Good job,” I smiled and patted her, just like how my Mom did whenever I performed something praiseworthy.
Well, the number of times that happened was something that you could count on one hand. Most of the time, I was out wreaking havoc, but I did do my share in the fields, just so she could not complain. Although, with how I set it up, it’s hard to say if Meles really did it on her own volition.
“I’m Celica… Celica Falchion. You can just call me Celica as well.”
Celica offered a handshake to Meles, while scratching her cheek with her free hand and her eyes averted to the side. It’s better than nothing at least. Meles lifted her hand and returned the handshake, and I think, a new friendship was born.
“And I’m her mommy, Cecillia~”
“M-Mom!”
Cecillia moved to her daughters back and embraced her from behind. It made me wished for a moment how I want to be hugged instead. Damn, I really have to remind myself she’s married to a muscular man that could dragged me to hell in one beating.
“Mufufufu, you seemed to have forgotten about me, the great wielder of the Tyrants Eye!”
Meimei said some complicated words as to try to gather some attention. This idiot feels like she’s dancing on my head it’s giving me an itchy feeling—like I want to crush a bug that happened to be on my hair.
I grabbed her and drew her down to my shoulder instead.
“So, now that we’ve finished our greetings, I think it’s nigh-time that we return to town?”
“Umu.”
“Indeed.”
“I agree.”
“Bon Voyage!”
They all have their own answer but they all possess the same expression: The look of wanting to go home. Well, it was like that. We got out of the waterfall, so it was somewhat inevitable that we got wet.
The look on the girls after that? Phenomenal.
“Whh…What’s the sudden increase in party? Kansouke! Don’t tell me?! You… You did it AGAIN?!”
“No, I didn’t do anything!”
Although I shouted my explanation, it did not saved me from getting slapped by Remi. I’m topless after all and there’s a near naked elf traveling beside me.
“Is this all of us?”
Cecillia mumbled while looking around. Her question made me return a question of my own.
“Yes, this is all of us. Why do you ask?”
“Okay then, form a circle around me and hold tight to everything you think is valuable.”
She replied, but my question was ignored. Thinking it would be futile to ask any further, I decided to just heed what she said. She’s the wisest in this group after all.
“You heard her! Let’s form a circle everyone.”
Everybody followed to what I just said, excluding Remi, who whispered something on my side.
“Psst. Are you sure we can trust her?”
“Yeah, I can vouch on that.”
“Fine, but don’t tell me I didn’t warned you if something crazy occurs.”
“You’re exaggerating.”
Thus, we all formed a circle like kids.
I was clutching the horse mane on my left, while I held Meles’s hand on the other. The circled continued all around Cecillia, who’s busy mumbling some type of incantation. My heart beating the same rhythm as her lips. For some reason, now that were positioned like these, I’m having an extremely bad premonition.
Soon, a bluish light emitted on the ground. That light drew a magic circle on the ground, big enough to cover all six of us. A circle that envelops us all in a comfortable light, similar to Celica’s healing magic.
“…………………Haaa!”
My vision warped and suddenly, everything around me is different. Airs wraps around my entire body as the wind gushes up, like a geyser! When my vision clears, I saw us all speeding towards the ground on such a high velocity!
“Weeeeeehhhhh!!!”
“Weeee’ll crash!!!”
“Kaaaansouke!!!”
“Maaaaaaasteeeer!!!!”
“Teehee~ Sorry guys, it seems like I made a mistake~”
While the girls were squealing to their demise, Cecillia’s joking words overwhelmed everything else in my ears.
“DON’T TEEHEE ME, DAMMIT!”
