《Death's Heir》Chapter 25 : Second Spell

When they all went into the camp commander Zhou personally led their client to where he or she would be staying before just giving them general directions to where they'd be staying.
Everyone ended up walking around fir close to half an hour following the directions they got from commander Zhou.
Even though the fort wasn’t large they still couldn’t find their way because of the half hearted directions they were given.
Feeling lost they decided to just ask one of the soldiers where they should go. The soldier ended up bringing them to an open area filled with tents and told them to just pick one that wasn't already taken.
While they were walking around earlier Azreal had realized that the fort hadn't been there for long it was obviously something that was only made recently to serve a temporary purpose and once that was done it would either be abandoned or a few soldiers would be left to guard it.
Majority of the soldiers that didn't have a high rank were kept in this area while the officers stayed in the main building.
The main building stood in the center while two ‘U’ shaped walls stood on the left and right filled with tents, when once entered the fort they would enter through the main building.
Inside the main build of the fort was completely empty except for the bare necessities, the grey brick walls gave the build a abandoned haunted house type vibe.
The tents that were set up here didn't look all that great from the outside, they looked like something that had been recycled over and over again but after going inside it was the total opposite.
He was expecting just a piece of cloth spread out on the ground with a few sheets for when the night got extra cold but instead inside there was a small bed with thick covers.
Looking at where the walls of the tent should be, there was nothing there aside from a few light blue runes floating in the air but other than that he was looking straight outside.
Staring at the nonexistent wall for a while he went back out of the tent to ensure that what he was seeing was correct and it was. The shabby walls were still there so after staring for awhile he went back inside and started inspecting lightly blue runes.

This was his first time seeing something like this so he was immediately fascinated, although for some reason —which he chose not to pay attention to— he wasn’t surprised.
Staring at the runes he lightly tapped them, in turn, they just gently shook and continued moving in a pattern that at first looked random but after staring for who knew how long a pattern vaguely started to emerge.
"Hey, how you settling in?"
Breaking out of the trance, he looked dazedly towards to source of the voice for a few seconds before his eyes regained focus.
When Dustin saw Azreal exist his tent and started staring at it then when back inside he assumed something must've been wrong with the tent so after settling himself in he came over to check on him only to see him staring at runes.
"This is your first time seeing military styled tents?"
Azreal smiled a bit before answering.
"Yea."
Hearing Azreal's reply Dustin couldn't help but laugh a little while thinking that Azreal really was a kid.
"The military requested them specially from Arnet Gardens so even the Demi solider's who haven’t developed their core’s would be able to see what's going on outside, It makes it harder for enemies to sneak in"
Azreal couldn't help but nod in understanding even though this was what he originally had in mind hearing it confirmed was better than him just making guesses but something Dustin said stuck out but didn't voice his opinion on it.
'Demi? Cores? is that a military term?’
"That's the official reason they gave but I can't help thinking that it was just some old geezer who gets off on feeling like he's being watched made them"
Azreal couldn't help but laugh when he thought about some wrinkly old man getting off on being watched.
"Who do you think is in the carriage?"
Azreal couldn't refrain from asking after what happened with the commander a few minutes ago he couldn't suppress his curiosity, hearing the question Dustin got serious and didn't speak for a minute or two.
"To tell you the truth am not sure I originally felt like it was just some noble but now I feel like it's probably a politician"

Azreal wasn't surprised by Dustin's deductions although he didn't know much about nobility here if they were anything like on earth. Not just any and any noble could get a commander to not only stand down but also be so courteous, if it's wasn’t someone with real political power it would be impossible.
"I think so too but why would they want to hire a guild wouldn't they have personal guards that they could do this"
Dustin shook his head, showing his disagreement before speaking.
"The guild would be simpler and safer to use because the client would be able to keep their identity a secret but....."
Saying up to this point Dustin sighed.
"Never mind it makes no sense we speculate let's just do the job and head back home."
After he said this he stood up to leave the tent while pointing to the sky outside.
"Its been hectic journey so you should relax a bit because when we leave here we'll have to pass through the battlefield to get to Cornwall, although there aren’t really any threat out there, still we should be well rested so we'll be on high alert"
With that, he left and went back to his tent.
Based on how Dustin ended the conversation he probably figured something out or something just clicked in his mind but either way, he didn't really plan on trying to figure it out because he didn’t plan on ‘taking on the bad guys for the greater good’, playing the hero wasn’t for him.
Azreal was feeling tormented in the tent because he had nothing to do, so after about an hour of staring off into space, he decided to walk around the fort to take a look but after walking for around half an hour he went back to his tent.
Walking around the fort was even worse than just staying in the tent.
The only good thing was that for the first time since coming to this world he took a moment to truly look at the sky, and what he saw was stunning.
The star in the were beyond beautiful. They weren’t the simple white you’d see on earth, it was almost like looking at a rainbow. Thousands of different colors were scattered across the sky but what made it perfect was the fact that the colors weren’t overbearing, they were just bright enough for you to appreciate the beauty but just dull enough for you to enjoy it.
Oddly enough there was no moon just hundreds of millions of stars scattered across the sky.
The trance lasted for close to an hour he was truly captivated by it but the moment his mind returned back to the fort he immediately became annoyed, all the tents were lined out in the exact way for as far as the eye could see. It was no different from being trapped in an endless loop.
Earlier Reyner and Sadie had gone inside the same tent so he didn't plan on disturbing them nor did he have anything to talk about, he thought about going to Dustin’s tent but he couldn’t ask the questions he wanted to without sounding like an idiot.
When he settled back down in his tent he decided to take the book out of the space ring and run through it.
Flipping the book to the second page the title jumped out at him and after reading it he couldn't help but stop and think for a second, the spell really was something horrible but that didn’t mean he did plan on learning it.
But reading the requirement it felt like someone poured cold water on his head.
"How the hell am I supposed to engrave a weapon with Divine Energy!, do I have to find a blacksmith or something?"
Taking a deep breath he looked at the dagger and thought that this really wasn't the weapon he wanted to use, it wasn't a bad weapon but it wasn't great either.
"Forts sell swords right?"
