《Fly in Fantasy》Looting a Dragon - Gone Wrong (3)

Dora's mind rattled like the rusty gear of an old machine. For the past few hours he mulled over the new changes to the system. A couple of days ago, the sky suddenly flared red, throwing all 99 islands into a frenzy. After the commotion died out, a new message was spread. The system had changed!
The following wave of panic started from within the church, went over aristocrats and crashed into the common people. The changes were huge - now humans weren't capped at a certain level, and only their 4 main stats would be displayed. Earning skills has gotten so hard that any new-born child would need over thirty levels of experience to reach level one. This could spell their doom if they were careless. And this also turned to be the most annoying thing to the wizard, because it meant he couldn't simply get a skill to help the donkey. No, he had to make-do with -
"Master, we've prepared the food."
"Finally, took you long enough."
Dora was bitter. The death of his wife still hung in the air, and he at least thought he could at least save the donkey. But now it seemed like death was just the beginning, and he had an impossible path to further walk on.
He stood on shaky bones, an apparatus held together with glue and bandages. His legs trembled as he walked to the table.
Dimly shining chandeliers hang down from the ceiling, illuminating the room despite the moonless night. In the darkness, moss-covered statues of angels on the side came alive. The wall were decorated in a flurry of a dark blue, the shimmer of sapphires. The shadows thrown by the pillars were alive, dancing and twirling around the table. On the side, servants stood behind chairs, their eyes not wandering far from the food.

Entered festive room
You entered a festive room.
Buff: +50 on all food. +20 charm.
Dinner was something to be celebrated, Dora lived by this statement.
He gave a short brisk nod to the chief, and sat down, his eyes glued to the raw meat.
Dragon meat had to be consumed raw, or else no stat points would be acquired. Its taste could only be enhanced or dimnished by spices and sauces, the meat itself was untouched.
He frowned, his eyes on the blood dripping out of the meat. He still didn't understand how he acquired the shit-eater title before.
The room went quiet, and Dora held up his hands. "To the god!"
"""To the god!"""
"We devote our life to!"
"""We devote our life to!"""
'Even if he won't help us.' He added in his thoughts. How much longer did he have to keep up this facadé?
He held up the meat and tore a chunk of it. He grimaced at the taste, and the messages he received didn't help either
And with this, the festival had begun.
'The Dragon's soul... another matter the church shouldn't see. I should collect it at midnight, when it's the darkest hour.' He nodded.
'But why do these ridiculous messages keep appearing?'
