《The lost entries》december, 5 ,2043 (my room)

After many twists and turns, walking through maze-like white hallways, we came to a row of doors that weren't entirely spaced out, but just enough to make the room seem livable. I kept on noticing the change in jane's behavior, it was honestly sticking out like a sore thumb. She had once been an overweight country girl to this solemn towering figure behind me. her blonde hair seemed to be less blinding, and her makeup blended into her pale face. her eyes locked mine for a split second before I ducked my head down, and turned to look at the door.
Unlike the beautiful entryway and the dining hall, the doors were bland and looked like you could find them just about anywhere. the door was a deep red/brown color, with an aluminum plaque that had my initials carved into it.
"well... here ya go. I'll let ya' make yourself' at home. not that you could..."
though she didn't intend me to, I heard her mumble the last part. great... I knew that if jane's positivity couldn't lift up the situation, nothing could. she slapped her hand onto the knob of the door before twisting it open, and lightly pushing it away with two fingers.
the room was anything BUT livable. to me at least, it seemed like a cell for prisoners that have actually done something wrong.
the walls were a dark grey, almost black, seeming like a shroud of storm clouds were slowly seeping through the cracks of the room. Two faded navy blue mattresses that looked like oversized punching bags were placed on a wooden contraption. a small table sat by it , but that was it. it looked exactly of how I imagined a jail cell to be.
" yo' roommate will be here tomorrow. i have to go, but if ya' need anyting' whatsoeva', let me know."
and then jane was gone.
she closed the door behind me, and I was stuck there, in the grey room.
