If there are any mistakes or anything you want me to change for exampel the way I present the conversations just comment or send me a pm and i will try to change it.
And pls do rate wheter you think it is bad or good. I need opinions to make this better than it is.
If it is good then i just have to continue the way I am writing but if it is bad then i have to change that.
And don't take me for someone that can't take a little criticism.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After the ruckus about my void affinity had settled down, I wanted to know what happens next. Because I have no intention to follow them blindly but as it is now they are the best source of information even if that information could not fully be trusted.
- "So what happens now? I mean we are surely not stronger than your knights as is it is now. So how do you expect us to fight the demon king?"
- "Eh-hm, now you will be staying in the palace and receive training from Julius in magic and you will also receive training in martial art from knight- captain Gus Travellus."
The others looked like they just got a new toy and just wanted to play. I think that is because magic never really existed in our world.
- "I have no intention of staying with you but I would like to take up your offer for the lessons."
Now all eyes was on me. Who would refuse the hospitality of the king? I didn’t really bother with the stares but I already had my plan laid out and as such I didn’t want any part with the king as it is now. Sure if it really turns out that the demon king is an evil bitch that takes what he can and kills when he wants I will help them. Bu come on. We all know that in every freaking novel and story that humans is always at fault somehow. So before I even want to associate myself with the king I need a firm grasp of the situation.
To get rid of the stares was quite simple actually.
- "If I am going to save the humans I at least want to know them. And the best way to do that is to live with them. And I am sure the king is wise and understands what I mean. And alas to get powerful enough to even stand a chance against the demon king I would need strength, that is why I will come and attend the lessons of both archmage Julius and knight-captain Gus."
He looked quite surprised with my sudden change of words. I would just be dumb to turn down free lessons in both magic and martial art. And at the same time I got rid of all these displeasing looks others gave me.
- "I-if that is your wish then you are free to do so."
- "Then do you have a blacksmith in this city?"
This time I was not the king that answered me but someone beside him. He was probably Gus the knight captain. He was big, not the fat big but muscle big. He was at least 2 meters tall and his arms looked like tree logs. He wore something that looked more like adventure clothes instead of what a knight-captain should be wearing. He silver pants with some metal paddings shielding the bigger part of his thigh, shin and calf. He had a grey shirt with a silver breastplate that just covered his chest and stomach.

I can’t believe I didn’t notice him at all. He was freaking huge.
- "The Hammers Stone is the best blacksmithing shop in this city. The owner is a dwarf that for some reason decided to start a shop in this city. All our weapons for the army and knights comes from there. The names Gus if you hadn’t figured that out already."
I could see that the others was also shocked that they never noticed such a big guy right next to the king. Since I had gotten all the information I wanted for now I decided that I should go and seek this shop.
- "Oh great king if there is nothing else you need to inform us about I wish to take my leave."
This also surprised a lot of eyes in the room, I guess that is since usually it is the king that says when you should leave and stay.
- "Ehm alright you are excused."
When I got out of the palace I started walk around the city. It was strange since I could read what was on the signs despite not knowing the characters. Magic sure is a convenient thing huh. It reminded a lot of the RPG games that I have played. The streets, the houses and even the market. Everything was like straight taken out of a game. I had to ask some people for the Hammer Stone to get to it. From the look outside it was nothing less than impressive. It took up a lot of space and just beneath the roof were big iron letters where it stood HAMMERS STONE. You couldn’t really miss it.
The inside was like a regular shop it didn’t show at all that it was big or anything. The inside was filled with weapons and armor. They were in all shapes you could think of. There was a sword thing that curved back so much that it almost created a circle.
I walked forward to the counter where a bulky man was. He was a bit tanned and had some well-defined muscles with a shaggy hair.
- "Hello customer what can I do for you?"
- "Hello I would like to be apprentice here. Is it possible?"
The man looked a bit annoyed at me and said.
- "Well, you can but you have to smith something without any help to even be able to get a chance. Are you up for it?"
- "Sure. Can it be anything? And does it have to be at some quality to pass?"
I was actually not sure that I could pass this. I did have my secret weapon that I was a hero and all that but I would prefer to let that be kept hidden for various reasons.
- "Yes you can make anything, it has to be some quality and not something that you could only call trash."
He led me to the back where there was a sturdy wooden door. If you listened closely you could hear something behind it. When he opened the door I was greeted by loud noises. I guess this is the workshop.
- "Hey everyone there is one that wish to be an apprentice!"
Most of the working men stopped what they were doing. But what caught my eye was that a female was walking towards me.
- "Hey Gale I will take it from here." She said and the man who was named Gale let and walked back through the door.
- "So you want to be an apprentice?"

- "Yes."
- "Well, all you have to do is to smith something and we judge base on that if you are worthy to meet the master. Any questions?"
- "Yes. Actually I was quite surprised to see a woman here. I mean no disrespect with that."
- "Oh you have quite some nerve. But I can see what you mean and yes normally a woman wouldn’t be a blacksmith but there are always exceptions. If you have nothing more you may use the furnace over there and we will provide with the metal."
I had already decided what to do. A katana since that is the only thing I have done before. I started by heating the ingot and trying to get it to the “forging heat” that my old man once described it. It is the ideal form according to my old man and that is when the metal glows bright yellow-orange in color.
As I continued with my work I notice a little crowed had gathered, not that I mind but it was a little unnerving. They seemed surprised with what I was forging. As I only had the sharpening process left the woman came up to me.
- "You have passed and is allowed to see master. He will probably be very satisfied with you."
I was a little surprised since I wasn’t finished yet but hey, this works for me since I have never sharpened before. I was told that I could see him tomorrow morning. I asked if they had any place to stay and they led me to a room with only a bed and a small table in it.
As soon as I laid down I started to drift off to sleep. I was thinking of everything that happened today and was quite happy for some reason before I finally fell asleep.
Louis POV
I was chatting with Becca about what happened today. We were in a room we were assigned to by the king. It was a very beautiful room but a little too much for my taste.
Before we arrived here I was sitting in my room reading a book. And then the next moment I ended up on that platform. I was really scared but managed to get out a few words. Not really expecting response but I still got one.
The one answering me was a young man probably around 20 years old. He had black hair and very green eyes. The contrast was very alluring. And the face wasn’t too bad either. But I was panicked almost lashed out at him, but he only responded me with a calm voice. That made me feel a little better.
After that he asked about me and the others that also came here. He took controlled of the situation and seemed to know what was going on or at least that was the feeling I got from him.
When we got some information on what was going on we were going to meet the king that would give us the full explanation. I was really shocked.
I and Becca got some really nice dresses that fit perfectly. We also started to talk a little of what was going on but nothing noteworthy. She also seemed interested in Alex.
What the king said surprised us all. A new world? Elves? Magic? Who wouldn’t be surprised?
But at the same time Alex as he was called started to question the king. I was scared, really scared and when he mentioned our families I wanted to cry, but nothing happened I was too shocked about this being another war and we being heroes.
Alex began to scream at the king. I was really scared couldn’t do anything. I just watched as he talked and shouted at the king. After Alex was done and the king had spoken, the guy next to me started talking. I think his name was Rupert.
He talked about something like helping but I only wanted to go home so I agreed with the others.
After that we was told to choose a name, the guy from before Rupert choose Arthur. He really thinks highly of this justice thing is all that I thought. Charles took his own name and Becca took her nickname. I of course chose to take my own name.
When it was Alex turn was a bit curios if he was going to take his own name. But to my surprise or maybe not he choose a totally different name. Cardiz.
When we learned that there is elves we were all a bit chocked. I mean those only exist in fantasy and books. But then again we are now in another world.
What happens next is quite scary. After we got our magic affinities known. Alex or Cardiz now I guess, his personality did complete change. Before he was angry with the king but now he was almost praising him. It was quite scary. He also didn’t want to stay in the palace which I thought was strange. Oh well I have to ask him about it when I see him next time.
King Gerrard POV
This brat is really rude. He actually talks without being spoken too and actually dares to scream at me. Me the King! But I can’t do much since he is one of the heroes. He should feel honored to be a hero of the human race.
I explained to them what has happened and they were all surprised to say the least. They didn’t seem to have either elves or magic in their world. I wondered how they managed to live there.
After I explained that they would get training the brat acted vert strange. He spoke politely and even praised me a bit. I was surprised but at the same time I have to be careful with this brat. He is cunning unlike the others. But then he suddenly asked for his leave in a respectful way. He is just so so so strange, he even refused my hospitality which had never happened before.
Back to Cardiz
It felt really good to sleep. I slept like baby despite all that happened, well maybe it was because of that I slept so well. I dressed myself and went out to see if I could get something to eat for breakfast. I looked for the woman that told me I passed. It wasn’t so hard to find her since she is the only one here. I walked up to her and when she saw me she called out and started to introduce herself.
- "Hey new guy I’m Amy I forgot to mention that yesterday. So what is your name?"
- "It’s Cardiz. I gave her a small smile. So is there any place I could get some food here before I meet the master?"
- "Yeah we have a dining room where you can eat. Usually it cost 3 copper but since you are new I will tell them to serve you for free."
- "Thank you."
Phew she solved my money problem for me, sure was convenient. Now that I think about it maybe I was too fast to live the palace. I should have gotten some money of that damned king before I left. Ah I hate that guy!
While Amy walked me to the dining room we spoke a little. She told her story on how she became a blacksmith. Apparently she was born in a family of blacksmiths and have watched and helped her father ever since she could remember. And since she was the only child her father started teaching her. She only told me that her mother left them, if she meant that she died or left them for something else, I do not know and am not willing to pry further either. She also told me that there are some smiths that also live here and that’s why they even have a dining room. The master of this place was quite rich it seemed and it only strengthened the stereotype I have of dwarfs as greedy fellows.
The breakfast was quite simple with some bread and some kind of soup that didn’t taste so bad. There were more than I thought here eating. The dining room were spacious and there were there rows of tables in a long row.
As I was done eating Amy told me that I should go and see the master. She showed me the way to a decorated door with a dragon on it. The dragon this time was of the western lizard type. I wonder if both dragons exist. What I saw when the door opened was a quite big desk with mountains of paper. Behind the papers you could see something moving.
- "Hey so this is the new kid you told me about?"
- "Yes master. I will take my leave now."
- "Yeah, you do so. What’s your name kid?"
- "Cardiz sir."
When the dwarf asked me for my name he stepped down and walked around the desk. And sure he lived up to everything I knew about dwarf so far. He was short, about 1.2 meters and you could see hick muscles under his clothes. It was a very strange contrast when he was so short. The clothes he wore was some leather pants and a whietish shirt. His face had strong lines and sharp angles. But you almost couldn’t see it because of his beard. It was braided and very impressing. His hair was thick and in an orange color. Yep a truly fine specimen of a dwarf.
(AU note: Here you get an image of what he looks like, not really like that but something close to it)
Picture of dwarf
- "Names Thor, but you will refer to me as master or sir. And it was you who made this sword?" He took out the katana I made from behind the desk.
- "Yes sir."
- "Where have you learned from and how did you make this?"
- "I haven’t really learned or anything but my old man was in the same trade and I helped him out some times and he let me do one thing on my own and I made a katana. That is why I chose to make a katana."
- "Hmm so this sword is called katana. I have seen similar sword but only similar. Tell me where it comes from."
- "Yes, where I am from, there once were fearless warriors in the east that wielded the katana and a shorter version of it called wakizashi. Unlike from my place where they utilized strength more than skill, the warriors in the east focused on skill and speed."
I gave him a short history lesson about my old world and just hoped that he wouldn’t ask too much questions. It would be a pain to answer them without giving away that I am supposedly a hero to save the humans. Lucky for me he didn’t.
- "Okay. Although you have a lot to learn I can see that you have some potential. I have decided that I will make you my disciple."
A big fat smile escaped my lips. It couldn’t get better. I told him that I would have to go away some times on personal business. It took some while for me to convince him but in the end he agreed.
First step in this world a success.
