Chapter 0: A New Dimension
“Set the time dial to a million times speed and keep increasing until we create a planet like earth. Hopefully there’s going to be some people there, too, so I can find out more when I go in. I’d rather not just wander that dimension alone.” Evan said, rubbing his hands together in anticipation
“Evan, you don’t have to do this. You know that right?” A voice asked
“Phil, I’m the only one who can go in. Of course I have to g-Halt. Stop there. That’s good. Zoom in, there.” Evan said, pointing to a screen
“Yes, sir!” a voice called
The screen zoomed in to a planet, to a continent, and an ancient looking advanced civilization.
“Yes! People! Hm. Is that…. ancient China? Jeez. This is gonna be fun.…” Evan said, shaking his head
“Evan, ser-“ Phil started
“I have nigh omnipotence in there with the console, Phil. I’ll be fine.” Evan said
“Fine. If you say so. You sure anyone’s going to listen to some kid there, though?” Phil asked
“I’ll just recode my physical body. Magic is really coming in handy. To think, I’m going to a world that’s had access to my mana for centuries, think of how much magic they’ve probably learned. Man, it’s been a few years, hasn’t it?” Evan asked
“Evan, you’re still barely a child.” Phil said
“You’re talking like an old man again.” A girl wearing a lab coat and sucking on a lollipop said
“Sis, I’m not old.” Evan said
“Ugh. I know that. I said you act like you are.” The girl said
“Hey, Teacher, lay off of him a tad. He just finished making an entirely new dimension that he can safely travel to.” Phil said
“Yeah, but why did it have to be ancient china? Out of all things. What are you gonna do, become their god or something?” Teacher laughed
Evan started thinking
“Shit.” Both Phil and Teacher said
“Yeah, I’ll do that. It sounds fun. It will help me with knowing the top secret stuff. Welp, I’m off, see ya guys.” Evan said, hopping into a portal looking thing
“Annnnd he left. Of course he left. Me just talking for this long should be equivalent to what, a month over there, at this point?” Teacher sighed
“Not sure. I’ll leave it to him. This is pretty important. He might be back around a month in our time.” Phil said, walking off
“Yeah, same.” Teacher said, following Phil out of the room
They closed the door behind them

“Gah! Oh, hey! This place is pretty cool! Alright, let’s just use the artificial aging thingy… there. I should look around, what, 14 now? This little console is pretty handy.” Evan said, typing on a holographic keyboard
He had landed in what seemed to be an alley, in the slums of an already poor village.
“Hey, you. Where am I, exactly?” Evan asked, throwing someone a piece of bread he had spawned in with the console
“It’s a village. There’s no name.” The person said
“Got it. Do you know where the bigger cities are? How do I get there?” Evan asked
The man explained what Evan should do
“If you want to get there, I recommend walking up the path from the entrance right over there. You’re going to find a small city, and you should find yourself a guide to bring you to the destination you seek.” The man said
“Got it, thanks.” Evan said, walking away
He put some food for them at the entrance to the village and left, taking a path through the forest towards the city
“Beware of bandits, huh? No wonder he said that. And I was worried that this only happened in stories. Thank god it actually happened.” Evan said, grinning
“Kid? You, uh… you seem pretty happy for someone who we is robbin. You got a good brain, or is it rottin?” A big man asked, carrying…. some kind of really weird weapon.
“What kinda weapon is that?” Evan asked
“Ah, curious about my old weapon, eh? It’s is a pretty strong one, yeah.” The man said
“That’s not what I- woah.” Evan said, dodging the mans sudden attack
He floated in the air just out of the mans reach
“Ha. Idiot. Hey, do you guys know what magic is?” Evan asked
“If yamean the thing you’re doing right now, we know of it, yeah.” The man said
“I’ve heard that you can do awesome stuff, like manipulate the earth, create fire and water, and blow people away with a gust of wind. I forgot the others. But there’s a ton of stories. Not shur ‘zactly how many people can use it. You’re the first one I’ve ever met.” A man said from the crowd of bandits
“I’ve seen one.” The big man said
“Oh? What were they like?” Evan asked
“Strong. Very, very strong. She could use shadows and wind. Her strength was abnormal. She sure as hell wasn't completely human. She had these ears. Like a fox or something.” The big guy said
“Hm. Interesting. And you guys aren’t questioning me at all? And why did you stop attacking?” Evan asked

“We don’t wanna die. Why else do you think. A dude comes outta nowhere, completely calm, and dodges our weapons, then stands in the air and asks us questions? Ain’t no way that isn’t suspicious. Are you strong?” The big man asked
“A little bit. Strongest person in the world, actually.” Evan said
“No way that’s true.” The big man said
“Then again, he is flying.” Another man pointed out
“Hey, wait a minute. He hasn’t fought back at all. Would you normally instantly crush anyone who is in your way if you’re that strong? Let's get him!” The big man said, readying his weapon again
Everyone else started to do the same
“Humans. What to do, What to do. Hm. This.” Evan said, snapping his fingers and knocking everyone within a certain radius out cold.
He tied them all up, and heard a thunk
“What the-? Huh? There was someone else here? Ouch. That’s a pretty bad injury. ooo, owch. Correction. Injuries. Plural. Such a young girl, too...” Evan said, starting to heal the girl that fell from a tree
“H...uh?” The girl asked, waking up
“You’re already awake? Wow. Who are you? You’re obviously not with those idiots. What were you doing?” Evan asked
“Huh? Ah, you’re fine. Wait, that was all you? Ack.” The girl asked, trying to sit up
“Hey hey. Lay down, relax. You just got a pretty bad injury.” Evan said
“I don’t feel any.” The girl said
“I healed it already, but you will still have a headache for a while. Rest. Here, have some water.” Evan said, handing her a glass of water
“Thanks. Wait, healed? What do you mean, healed?” The girl asked
“With magic. I healed you using magic.” Evan said
“Wha-that’s… you must be a high level doctor then. I guess I didn’t need to get in the way or help you. Apologies.” The girl said, suddenly polite
“What do you mean by that? Oh, I haven’t been out in the world for ages, I’ve been in seclusion training. So I know nothing about current events or common knowledge.” Evan said, lying about where he had come from
“Oh. No wonder I don’t know of you, then. Still, to be able to heal someone in a few hours is incredible. You should be someone famous in history books if you have that kind of skill…. wait, all of my injuries are gone?” The girl asked, realizing what happened
“Well.. I am in your history books, but....nevermind. Yeah, you were pretty injured aside from just falling out of a tree. Illnesses, broken bones, addictive drugs circulating in your system, and a chain on your mana that was controlling you. And it wasn't hours. You’ve been asleep for about 10 minutes. Most of that time I spent typing those idiots up.” Evan said
“What? I’m… not being controlled…. anymore?” The girl asked
“Nope. You’re free to go.” Evan said
“Ah! Wait, that’s right. I need to let my brother and sister know, they don’t have to listen to those people anymore!” The girl said, trying to get up
“I said lay down. Doctors orders.” Evan said, weighing her down with mana
“No, you don’t get it, if I don’t hurry they might do something bad!” The girl said
“Explain.” Evan said
“Well, my parents were in debt, and that debt transferred to me after they died. A curse was placed on my soul, and the people who cursed me used me as a threat to make my brother and sister do bad stuff. So I have to go stop them from doing that. They’re doing it again tonight, as well!” The girl said
“Alright, where is it?” Evan asked
“The city. The big one.” The girl said
“Hm. Well, that’s my destination anyway, so let’s go. I’ll help you out.” Evan said, yawning
“You….will? You’ve done more than enough alre-wait. It… who-who are you?” The girl asked, realizing all the stuff Evan had done
“I’m Evan, nice to meet you.” Evan said, smiling
“I’m Gold, it’s nice to meet you. Wait, no. How did you do all of that? Healing me in… minutes? Everything? That… are you a god?” Gold asked
“Yup. Now let’s get going. You’re going to be guiding me around, okay?” Evan said
“Oh. Alriiiiiiiiiiiight!!!” Gold said, as Evan picked her up, and flew in the sky, above the clouds
“Which direction?” Evan asked
“Huh? Uh, it’s that way.” Gold said, pointing
“I see it now.” Evan said, flying over towards the city
“Alright, where to next?” Evan asked, as they hovered above the city
“Um, over there.” Gold pointed again
Evan landed in an alley and set Gold down
“I’m dizzy.” Gold said
“I’m not surprised. You said I could get some information here, correct?” Evan asked
“Uhm. Yeah.” Gold said
“I’ll go in. Here.” Evan said, casting protection magic on her, and heading inside
“Thanks.” Gold said
