《Netherwyrm Stargod》Chapter 03

Dion now looked like a young man, an eighteen-year-old roughly. He used the shape-shifting skill that dragons were naturally good at.
He had bought the most expensive armor he could allow himself to buy, a tier 1 dark gold armor for a few million system points.
They had been walking for weeks and had yet to leave the forest and he was starting to lose patience.
By now, he had already realized that it wasn’t his home planet, but somewhere else in the same universe.
For some reason, they had yet to see any beasts, even the smaller ones. Not even birds.
He knew that the pressure exuded by the dragon race was lethal to weak beasts and even during the day they were like walking lighthouses as any beast would know to disappear from their way.
The sounds of humans chatting could be heard not far from them. When saying ‘not far’ it was more like a kilometer away.
Their keen senses were otherworldly, once again a gift of their noble bloodline.
The language the humans were using was foreign to Dion. It was to be expected.
He turned to his Lesser Multiverse Merchant System and then asked how much the language package cost.
{10,000}
“Alright pay yourself then…”
{10,000 SP deducted…3, 495,871,000 SP remaining…}
After the prompt, his mind was overloaded for a second as he instantly learned the language.
He said to Dino, “Let’s see who reaches them first.” he used dragonic to talk to Dino as it was the only language it understood.
Dino didn’t stop to agree as he sprinted with all his strength gaining some headstart.
Dion just smiled at his mischievous dragon brother and then flew at the fastest speed he could muster.
It would have been easier and faster to run, but he felt like practicing his telekinesis and levitation a little. If he wanted to leave the planet and go to space, he couldn’t do it by walking, knowing how to fly was mandatory for any dragon. They couldn’t escape it. It was deeply etched in their bloodline.

Dion had to stop at times to evade trees and branches and Dino was becoming harder and harder to see.
Not to mention that his antlers that had grown with his body proved to be an obstacle for him to move nimbly in such a dense forest. Oddly enough, no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t get rid of his antlers and had even unknowingly made them more prominent by shapeshifting.
He also wondered why he was the only one who had antlers. Dino didn’t have any protruding horns on his head…perhaps because he was still a newborn. For a dragon who would reach at least fifty meters in length, he still had a long way to go.
Fearing that the humans wouldn’t be as welcoming at seeing a dragon barge in their encampment, he decided to cheat and use teleportation.
He teleported himself several dozen meters at a time, at least as far as he could see.
Even with him cheating, he found himself being the last to arrive at the encampment.
Dino was already being targeted as several arrows rebounded on him, making metallic sounds.
When Dion arrived by appearing out of nowhere with teleportation, the place grew silent.
Both parties gauged each other.
On one hand, you had a purple dragon that couldn’t be penetrated by arrows and a slightly purple..human…that had antlers coming out of his heard.
…on the other, three indigenous people each had one arrow locked thinking that it could protect them from the intruders.
From the way they were dressed in nothing but loincloths with barely anything on, Dion asked himself how they could survive in such a dangerous place…unless they also weren’t completely human.
His instincts told him that he shouldn’t judge them so fast and there was more unseen to the eye.

He didn’t have to wait for a long time as he heard, “Oh Mighty Phoenix may this flame purge these demons.”
The arrow of the tribeman on the left caught fire and suddenly the temperature peaked. Nevertheless, Dion felt that it wouldn’t be dangerous for the both of them.
The arrow reached them in no time, carrying with it an incredible momentum.
Dion just extended his hand and then the arrow was caught in it.
An explosion rang out. Trees and any vegetation in a radius of twenty meters caught fire and burned fiercely.
Our two brothers were bathed in the fire as they felt something incredible, it seemed to be a tonic that their bodies liked and desperately needed. Dion even felt a bit hungry for the first time.
Without further ado, the both of them opened their mouths and inhaled the fire.
It felt like a drug. The most amazing drug.
Unfortunately, there were two gluttons and not enough fire.
Dion then thought, “I forgot,...there’s only one fire that has this kind of effect in my inherited memories…Phoenix Fire…Dragons and Phoenixes devour each other and treat the other race as a delicacy.”
If there was phoenix fire, chances were that there would be phoenixes around…but this fire came from a human…were they like them? Descendant of Phoenixes?
Things were bound to become a little complicated from now on as Dion remarked.
“Can we talk now?” Dion said in their language, stunning them.
“You can speak our language? How? No Outsider knows it, not even the Infidels who live on the other continents.” The oldest of the three said.
“I guess I should make my way to the other continent then. Apologies for barging on you like this…please carry on.” said Dion with a smile.
As much as he liked to eat Phoenix fire, he needed to be in the presence of humans who would look past his appearance, not only for him, but also for Dino.
He needed a base of operation, and a civilization that was advanced enough would be his destination. If he couldn’t find it on this planet, he would have to leave as soon as he was able to live in space, with his constant consumption of ‘immortal fruits’, as he called them, he could feel his strength gradually increasing.
Under the curious eyes of the three indigenous tribesmen, Dion put his hand on Dino’s head and then activated teleportation.
He was back inside the barrier.

A King in the Clouds
Tanlar. A cruel, repulsive, and foul word. It meant untitled, officially, but it also meant ungifted, unable, unworthy, unnecessary, unhuman. It was more a curse than a term, a badge only the damned and condemned wore. To be a tanlar was to know your life, your entire being, was insignificant. Once Kaizer had resigned himself to such a fate, but those times had passed. He may have been untitled, but he was anything but untalented. He refused to scrape by at the bottom of society. Those who stood above him could sneer all they liked, but he wouldn’t suffer being stepped on for long. He’d be better, much better. But of course he would be. ‘Fate’ demanded it so. [Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] What To Expect: The story of a boy becoming a man becoming a king + everything that entails. Largely gamelit, but later arcs could be called litrpg. Also schemes. A lot of schemes. I do love some good ol' fantasy politics and intrigue. Minimum Word Count a Week: TBA after Writathon Release Time(s): Daily for as long as I can/until the end of the Writathon. I also write The Deathseeker [Returning Dec 5th]

AK - The Alchemy Kingdom
Karl always wanted to be a Mage. He was born in the Serion Kingdom, a fully pledged magic Kingdom. Seems like a perfect match, right? Unfortunately, no. He's just a commoner, working endlessly to maintaining the lifestyle of Mages. On his 15th birthday, his last chance to escape from a miserable life was destroyed when he was deemed to have no magic potential. For thousands of Serion's citizens that would be the end of their dreams. But how could this story be any fun, ending like that? Follow Karl and his friends while they tried to fight against the Kingdom's oppression. Will the system bend them to submission or will they break the chains of destiny? Spoiler alert: After thousands of years, an ancient Magic system will be reborn in the small Caiset village. What should you expect? - Kingdom Building: For sure! The heavy lifting will come later, I promise! Foundation is important, please be patient; - Epic battles: A Kingdom is not built without war and conflict. Who doesn't like good fights? Let's bring some excitement to this novel!; - Multiple leading characters: Karl convinced them to get on the bus, but this is a very long trip and everyone will need to drive a little; - Scientific Magic System: Especially Alchemy! I'm in no way trying to take the fantasy out of Magic. I just feel like trying to do something more logical. I'll probably stumble on a fine line, but I’m counting on you to keep me on track!; - World Building: I’m using some basic concepts from traditional Fantasy Worlds and trying to add some nice touches to make it unique; - Fun?: I'll try to insert some humor into the story, but that’s an experience we will go through together. Other points I find important: Alchemy is mostly crafting magic tools, but it will go a little further down the road. Even if you don't like crafting, weapon enhancing and whatnot, don’t give up on the novel. You might be surprised about Alchemy's reach later. Also, other types of Magic will play an important role here, just not the leading role. ......... Check out my two spin-off novels, Merchant Queen and Harbinger of Death! Both are independent novels, but with the same world setting... Maybe some crossover later... Either way, you can check them to get additional information on worldbuilding and hidden plots...
