Tensei follows Hayashi back to the house but something seems off. There were no damages on the field when he first meets the twins. Hayashi heads inside the house and calls out to IKKI for some herbs.
(Hayashi) IKKI, I need some herbs quick!
(IKKI) On my way!
IKKI arrives with the herbs and notices Ume in a terrible condition.
(IKKI) Who is she? And how did she get in this situation?
(Hayashi) I don’t know ... I just found her wandering around the woods then she suddenly collapsed upon my arrival.
Hayashi mixed the herbs together, and started to chant some type of spell while placing her hand on Ume’s forehead. IKKI in cat form tries to comfort Ume by warming her up. Afterward the fever went down and IKKI was relieved of nothing bad happen to Ume. Hayashi picks Ume up to put her in bed as IKKI looks for the others about the news. The others were warned and decided to head where Hayashi was at. Hayashi tucked Ume on her bed and checked for any high fever but still normal.
(Aki) Is she going to be alright?
(Haru) She’s not going to die, is she?!
Hayashi placed her finger on both of their lips saying to quiet down.
(Hayashi) sssshhhhh... yes she’ll be alright just let this girl have some rest.
The twins both nodded at Hayashi and went back down. Hiroko enters the room, she seen Ume suffering just by a glance. She decides to leave something in the room and goes back down. Ten awfully curious finds out what Hiroko left in the room next to Ume. It was a bracelet which had unusual colors. Ten didn’t quite understand but the bracelet started glowing at one of the beads. The color was glowing brighter next to Ume. He didn’t know what was happening but then the next morning came, Ume awoke from her sleep. Just like Ten not knowing where she is and how she got there in the first place. Hayashi enters the room with some breakfast.

(Hayashi) OH. You’re awake now huh? I made you some breakfast so eat up.
Hayashi brings the food toward her as Ume was cautious all around. Hayashi notices her being scared but still continues forward. She puts the food beside Ume and decides to pat her on the back saying something.
(Hayashi) You’re okay now... no need to be scared.
Ume became a little calm after Hayashi reply. Hayashi comforts Ume as anything goes by the passing time. Ume finishes her breakfast fast but then Hayashi brings more food.
(Hayashi) There’s some leftovers if you want more...
Tears came rolling down Ume’s face, she quickly hugs Hayashi. Hayashi hugs her back, comforting the child.
(Hayashi) It’s okay child... don’t hold back. If you want to cry, you should cry as much as you like.
After hearing that from Hayashi, Ume just kept on crying the entire morning while wiping her face.
(Hayashi) So Ume is your name? What a pretty name. The name is Hayashi, I hope we can get along well.
Hayashi smiles and Ume right back.
[From that moment, Hayashi was more than just my master... to everyone that she took in and raise. She’s like a irreplaceable mother to all despite her personality. But I just kept this to myself.]
Afterward the whole family meets Ume and gets along with her. She still is quite timid around them but once getting to know them, she enjoyed every lasting moment. Ten was quite happy for Ume but still can’t shake the fact of whats been bothering Ume in her sleep or who killed her mother. Everything went dark and again, Ten moves forward without a direction. He then sees Hayashi and Ume walking in the forest about to head home. He heads toward them but as he did, Ume looked real sad and Hayashi trying to comfort her but couldn’t do so. He didn’t know what was happening then Ten gets in closer to the scene.

(Ume) Mommy...
(Hayashi) I...I’m sorry Ume. I won’t ask again.
Ten examines the scene and finally understands. The scene where Hayashi couldn’t finish her sentence after trying to mention Ume’s mother. Just when he looks into more of the situation, everything went back as a rude awakening. IKKI and Haru right in front of them, taking some pictures. Ume awakes and sees her two sisters all flirty looking with the camera. Ume turns red and decides to go after the two and Ten still remains in bed. Later in the evening, Ten did his usual training with Hayashi. He couldn’t get his own mind together but he just had to ask Hayashi.
(Ten) Master... this may be rude to you but here goes nothing. What did you say to Ume when you mention her mother?
In shock coming from Ten to ask such a question that even she didn’t want to answer.
(Hayashi) Why ask now? You didn’t to want know before but-
(Ten) It’s because I want to help her and you always said to help others in times of need.
(Hayashi)Sigh~ it’s a good thing that I taught you well. Very well... I’ll tell you what happen. But it isn’t a good thing and you must promise me not to bring this up to Ume understand?
Ten nods his head and replies back.
(Ten) Of course, I promise.
[I promised Hayashi not to tell Ume about it but I was confused at first. Over many days of training with Hayashi, she follows her own heart and policies. She would always say don’t hold back and be true to your own heart. I wasn’t following my heart at all, and I seem to disrespect my master’s teaching.]
Hayashi tells Ten of what happen on that day.
(Hayashi) Well to put it simple, things just didn’t want to be mention and my mouth kept on going without thinking. Ume was enjoying her new life with us but one day I asked about if she had anyone else close. She reply about her mother... she went on and on of what her mother was like but then stops for a sec. Ume became sad and frighten of remembering something not good. All I can do was apologize and give Ume a hug to say it’s okay. From then on, I never said anything else about Ume’s past otherwise she’ll be having more trouble sleeping. Sigh~ Well, I finally got this out of my chest.
(Ten) Master... can I go talk to Ume about this? If she’s having trouble then it’s our job to help one another right. We’re family and you told me to follow what I believe is right. I want... to help and be useful for everyone. I just don’t want to be nothing.
Hayashi looks at Tensei and knows he was serious. All she could do is reply and guide her own student.
(Hayashi) Sigh~ alright, Ten. Just don’t push Ume off her boat understand?
(Ten) Yes, I won’t Master.

Horizon
Emiluna is about to turn 16 and gain access to her first two classes. Living in a small village in the middle of nowhere, she always wanted to become a Hunter. Having learned a bit under her parents, a miller and a seamstress, she was sure she could never pick a class that meant staying inside all day. But being a Hunter is more than just a class. It means providing meat for the village, culling small pests near the cultivated fields and most importantly guarding the village from predators and monsters. But Emiluna is not a normal girl and her destiny far bigger than she could have ever imagined.Join her as she finds out what awaits just behind the horizon.[Word from the author]I am looking to create a fantasy world that has some logic to it and stays believable even as characters gain power and progress in levels.Classes and level quantify the people's progress, but they do not artificially inflate their power to demi-god levels. I am primarily trying to write a captivating story, not "power-porn". That means it will be slower than the fast burning litRPG you might be used to, but it won't burn out that quickly either and I won't drop half of my plots at the wayside. I should mention that English is not my native language. I hope it is mostly unnoticeable, but sometimes I manage to slip some awkard sentence structure in there (German sometimes puts things together in reverse). It it also my first time writing an actual fantasy novel and the first time writing anything at length in English. Any constructive feedback is very welcome.Credit where credit is due: Cover picture by Paul Bica (Licensed under CC 2.0)Check out his amazing photos here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/dexxusYes, my cover picture is a photo, not a drawing. :D I might try my hand at some Paint-ification later to add the title.[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]

A World Forgotten
***This story will contain lite-litrpg elements, mainly character pages and a town page. There will also be settlement building and adventuring, missteps and achievements. But one thing it definitely won’t have is a harem. Nor will it have an overpowered MC. Contains mild cursing.*** ***feel free to critique my writing and offer input. This is my first venture into writing. I've always enjoyed litrpg/gamelit books. I feel like I write how I talk, so it may be a little different. You won't hurt my feelings if you see something wrong or out of place! *** ***What follows is a condensed part of chapter 1. Enjoy!*** Drew Cooper is thrust into a new, unfamiliar world. Waking up in his sweats and t-shirt near what seems to be a forgotten path through some woods, he struggles coming to terms that he's no longer in his apartment. As he tries to cope with his new reality, he hears a horse coming down the path. He hides behind a nearby tree dreading what may happen next. As the horse approaches, he sees a man walking next to it. The horse is burdened with packs and gear. When the man nears, Drew nearly panics. He has a large sword strapped to his waist, obviously a fighter. He continues to hide as the man slowly passes only for the man to stop a dozen meters past his hiding spot. "You may as well come out, ya know. You weren't as well hidden as you thought," the man stated matter-of-factly, letting the horse’s reins go and putting his hand on the hilt of his sword. Slowly and scared for his life, Drew raised up and walked from behind the tree. "I-I'm sorry. I wasn't planning on attacking you. I-I don't know where I am. I heard your horse and hid. I didn't know what you'd do if you saw me. I'm sorry," he nervously blurted out. A minute passed. Then two. The man seemed interested with Drew and stepped closer, eyes squinting as if trying to see something. "What's that on your shirt? Is that. What is that? Is that, Pac-man?" The man was visibly shaken while pointing at me. Looking down at his t-shirt nervously, "Yea. Yea. I woke up here a few hours ago I think. 3 maybe 4 hours. I’ve just been sitting here. Where am I? What's going on?" Drew asked. "That's not important right now," the man replied. " What's important is where you're from. What year is it?" "What year? April something 2020. Why? What's going on?" Drew continued now worried. The man was taken aback. After a few moments, he seemed to calm himself some. The man sighed and looked at Drew in earnest. "Well, I've got good news and bad news for ya. Bad news is you're not on Earth anymore. Good news is you happened to run into me and not someone else. You’re either really lucky, or it’s fate we met in these woods, and I don’t believe in luck." The man continued to walk towards Drew while talking and put out his hand. "I'm John Mitchell from St. Louis or thereabouts. You’ve got nothing to be scared of by me. Walk with me and let’s talk."

Interface
Welcome to the World-City of Thousel, the sixth iteration of life on the planet. These are the recordings of the people of Thousel. Thousel is believed to be the second longest iteration of life, and the overall most prosperous compared to what we know about the past five iterations. Medicine and technology have all progressed abundantly, and the world itself has been turned into one great city, governed and managed by the Governmental-Company Alliance, or the GCA.These particular recordings concern the discovery of a peculiar machine. When two very different people find themselves bound by the fate of one mysterious bot, life in the World-City begins to change… Interface is a cyberpunk webnovel set in an ecumenopolis world where people evolved with electro-sensory abilities. These senses shape the face of modern technology and life in a world where the three largest corporations run what has effectively become the government. Each of these three companies control various aspects of life in the city, and they all constantly vie for domain and power over one another. The world stands at the precipice of biological, technological, and historical breakthrough. After decades of study into microbiology, archaeology, and geology, it has been discovered that sentient life has lived on the planet multiple times over. These past peoples are referred to as the “prior iterations of life,” and it is believed that five great civilizations were constructed before the rise of the modern world. No one can be sure for certain what caused these peoples’ extinction long ago, and the theories range from simply dying off over time to massive tectonic fractures in the face of the planet. Advanced technology, far more complicated than anything the people possess today, has been uncovered in multiple locations. This has lead scholars to speculate on exactly how long each iteration of life survived and how far they progressed as a society. None of the companies have been able to find a way to make this ancient technology work for their own profit. It is as though they are each missing the final key needed to unlock these centuries old secrets. What could this knowledge reveal about the nature of life across every iteration? What power could it give to the one who wields it?Far from the investigation into the origin of life, two kids unlock a new mystery – one that ties their fates to the discovery of an old, mysterious robot. Suddenly, eyes begin to turn towards them as life in the city of Thousel changes wherever they go…

His task is made even harder by the fact that several governments have been infiltrated by agents of the enemy, who are using their influence to sow seeds of war and chaos. The Brigadier is not mankind's only hope, though. In Helberion, a small group of scientists, struggling to make a major scientific breakthrough, is being hampered by assassination and sabotage. Is this the work of the enemy of mankind?
