Reincarnated into a support character

The moment Hiro Miyagawa opened his eyes, an unknown wooden ceiling appeared in front of his eyes. The woods on the roof were made of oak and seemed to deteriorate.

Realising that he was lying on a bed and not sitting in front of his TV screen, Hiro tried to stand his upper body up but then noticed that he couldn’t move at all.

Turning his head to look around him, he succeeded to move his head. There were wooden fences surroundings him, and after a closer observation, he understood that he was lying on a wooden cradle.

On his right side, a young woman in his early twenties was occupying herself near a kitchen cooking something. Hiro could only see her back, but that woman had long black hair and was wearing a white blouse and dark brown pants.

Finishing the preparation of the meals, she then turned her head towards Hiro and noticed his glances towards her. She then washed her hands on a water bucket and walked towards him. When she was close enough, Hiro’s eyes widened.

Because he recognised the face of the woman, who was in front of him. She was none other than Solene Girault, Theo Regnard’s mother and a game character from the game 《The Invasion Of The Demon King》.

‘Did I reincarnated? No way…’ Hiro Thought. But before he could disprove that possibility, he then recalled the white flash on the TV screen. ‘Maybe this is the《Hardcore Mode》? That must be that or… a dream.’ Still not believing that it was reincarnation, he tried to persuade himself that it was not the reality but the 《Hardcore Mode》 of the game or a realistic dream.

But unconsciously, deep inside his heart, Hiro already knew that it was neither a dream nor a game but the reality.

Lost in his imagination, someone knocked at the door. The young woman known as Solene Girault walked towards the door and opened it. Seeing the face of the man, Solene welcomed her and guided him to the table placed in the middle of the room.

“Welcome home, my sweetheart.”

“I’m back. Today was tiring. Is the dinner ready? I’m starving.”

“Yeah, the dinner has been prepared.” Directing towards the kitchen, Solene brought the plates on the table.

After hesitating for a short while, she said. “By the way darling, I found a baby in front of our door a few minutes ago. It seems that his parents abandoned him and requested us to take care of him. ”

Taking out a piece of bread, the man widened his eyes in surprise. “Really? Can I take a look at him?”

“Yeah, he’s over there.” Conducting his husband in front of the wooden cradle, Solene took out a piece of paper inside her pocket and resumed.

“His name is Theo Regnard. Since he has the last name, he probably came from nobility. Here’s the note that I found near the basket. There was also a cradle next to the basket.”

The man didn’t even take a look at the piece of paper that her wife was going to give him and stated with a smile while approaching the wooden cradle. “You know that I can’t read more than a few sentences. And besides, I know that you won’t lie to me right? Since they requested us to take care of him, why should we refuse their offer?”

Solene’s husband was aware that her wife couldn’t bear a child due to her body being frail and fragile from birth. It was the reason why he readily accepts to adopt the child. He thought that it was a good idea to let Solene take care of him since she was unoccupied during the day.

Solene took Hiro out from his wooden cradle and carried him in her arms. She then started to breastfeed him. Although Solene couldn’t bear a child, her nipples still could produce mother’s milk.

‘I truly reincarnated uh...and top of that as Theo Regnard.’ Looking at the couple in front of him, Hiro couldn’t deny anymore the fact that he reincarnated into the game. Everything was too realistic to be a simple game or a dream. The two game-like characters in front of him were the evidence that it was the reality.

According to the story, Theo Regnard was a support character who died after saving Clark when they encountered their first demon at the age of six. It was only after that incident that Clark awakened the class [Hero] after avenged his childhood friend, Theo.

‘I need to strengthen myself as quickly as possible…’ Assuming that he was fated to die at the age of six, Hiro resolved himself to become stronger.

Even if he needed to alter the future, he didn’t want to accept his fate to perish in the hands of a lesser demon. It was one of the weakest demon race within the game. It was unacceptable for a gamer of his calibre to be defeated so early at the commencement of the story.

Hiro believed that with his knowledge, he'd be able to survive in this world and managed to help Clark to clear the good ending, which was the downfall of the demon king.

Even if for it, he needed to choose an unknown route of the game story, Hiro refused that destiny that was awaiting him.

As he sucked Solene’s breast to drink the milk, Hiro resolved himself to survive in this world where his new whole life was about to start.

During the night of the same day, Hiro who just woke up two hours ago couldn’t fall asleep. After calming down from the sudden event that happened to him, he was looking at the wooden ceiling dazzled.

On the upper left, on the corner of his eyes, Hiro saw two bars. One was a light green while the one below was blue— It was his health and mana bar. On the upper right, was a mini-map and in the corner at the very bottom to the right, was a bunch of small icons which probably were the bags, character profile, settings and several others options available. It was as if he was playing a virtual MMORPG.

Touching the character profile’s icon, a large blue screen appeared in front of him, showing his current stats.

‘This is my character profile… I already have three unique skills and three passive skills.’ Touching at the [Unique Skills] tab, a blue window popped in front of his eyes.

Unique skills are skills that can't be obtained through training, learning and can't be copied either. They are unique skills that can only be acquired by obtaining titles.

After reading the description written on the window, Hiro touched the 《Identify》unique skill, and another window appeared.

《Identify》 is a unique skill obtained by the title [The Gamer].

This skill allows the user to identify any item, object, person and material in a range of 5 yards. The information and the distance are different depending on the level of the skill.

‘I see, the reason why I obtained three [Unique Skills] and three [Passive Skills] is a gift given to me after reincarnating… I need to take advantage of those to become stronger in the next six years to come.’ Hiro thought.

Hiro never expected to have such a tremendous advantage after reincarnating and was relieved to have a good starting point. As an advanced gamer such as him, it would be a shame if he didn’t succeed to get stronger after having a whole six years of limit time.

Using his 《Identify》 unique skill, Hiro started to increase the level of the skill by identifying everything that was on his sight and close to him. He re-used his ability on the same object again and again.

Without him noticing, the light entered the house, announcing Hiro that the morning had come.
