《Subordination system》Bring back the moolah

Jason sprinted outside and into the bathroom where he started to scream out words that could not be repeated in any kids book
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH *(&^(*)&*($%&(*^$*)(*&$^%&RACFDIUHSOIUVY#(*Y!#P(*YO*@&T(*&!T
This continued for a few minutes. And when he was done knowledge flowed into his mind, it was almost as if he had played games his entire life and was extremely familiar with them.
He hurried back to the room and saw all 5 of them staring at him as he walked in.
"Jason are you okay?"
"I didn't think you were that good at cursing....."
"you're my role model now....."
"that was, *cough* an experience"
After a bit Jason was able to finally convince them of him having nonexistent health problems.
Everyone gave him eyes of pity but Jason was somehow able to convince them that is was nothing that would harm him in the long run.
Masuda introduced Jason to the game and showed him the controls. After running through the tutorial a few times, Jason was pitted against Mika in a 1v1.
They both were set to the same level so it was all about skill.
It was a mouse and keyboard game (apparently they were still mainstream in this world too) and their characters were wearing futuristic-looking armor and were armed with guns and glowing swords.
Boops commented
'Jason your gaming skill is at level 3 automatically because you bought the skill,
I know what your thinking, but skills in the shop cost allot more than this one.'
Before Jason could retort the countdown began.

Mika started to provoke Jason
"hahaha Jason its time for you to witness my POWER!"

Masuda added
"Jason it's fine if you lose, after all Mika is a bonafide expert in 1v1s"
1
"Kick her @#$ Jason! you can do it!"

Jason immediately move his character into cover and started to run down one of the underground tunnels on the map.
The weird thing was that when Jason touched the mouse and keyboard he felt something like a jolt of electricity coursing through his body and back to his fingertips.
They started to move faster than ever and he was able to sneak up on Mika and start firing.
Mika after getting hit a few times dodged to the left undercover and returned fire as quickly as possible. Jason also went behind cover.
It became a deadlock with both people not wanting to come out with the fear of being gunned down.
At least that was what it seemed.
Jason from the back got hit by a few shots before he could react and run behind cover.
The moment that Mika got hit she immediately started to circle around Jason without him knowing, the lack of movement on her side made Jason assume that she was hiding to take cover.
Now Jason was low on health and Mika had the advantage.
Each player had 1 grenade that they could use and 1 healing pack, the healing pack needed 5 complete seconds for the effect to work and if it was interrupted the pack would shatter and become unusable
Jason was forced to huddle up to a wall and use his healing pack.
Or that was the plan, but a grenade was lobbed right next to him, and he was forced to lose the pack and run. He barely made it just it time, even the pieces of shrapnel almost gazed him and landed a feet away from him.
He was still at a dangerously low heath so he decided to just yolo it and trained his gun in the direction that the grenade was thrown in.

Jason saw Mika poking her head out so he immediately shot to no avail. She was like a ghost, she jumped between pillars and shot while in mid-air.
In a last-ditch effort he directly ran towards Mika when he heard no more gunshots.
It was probably a trap but he was out of ideas. He selected the grenade in his bar and charged.
He was immediately met with gunfire when he was out in the open and Jason panicked and threw his grenade.
Out of all the possibilities it landed right next to Mika's character and she was forced to sprint out of its blast radius.
Jason saw her and immediately shot and she with no place to hide returned fire.
It eventually came down to who had the most health left which was Mika and the game ended with Jason's character dying while Mika had only a sliver of life left.
In total the battle lasted about 5 minutes but to Jason it felt like an hour.
Masuda and the rest commended both of them
"well done both of you"
"yeah Jason you did well against Mika"
"next time completely wipe the floor against her okay"
"hmph well done for a beginner"
Mika looked up from her computer and gave Jason a nod of respect.
"you did well, I'm sure that you can do well in the following tournaments"

Runicka: Tournament of Monsters (A GameLit Card Game Fantasy)
The runes are changing, and with it, the game itself changes. Taygion Ardwella finds himself stranded, alone, and on the run from some very determined guards who claim Tay's stolen from them. They're right, but that shouldn't mean Tay has to give back what he took. He's only been in Stormwall for a week and already, he's earning the ire of the most powerful and notorious House that controls the city's underground. And when their scion challenges Tay to a duel of cards, Tay will find himself thrust into a game of sorcery and strategy as he attempts to both find a way out of this mess and find his own way in the world. To do both, he'll need to learn to accept guidance and coaching where it's sorely needed, craft a deck of unimaginable power, and not die whenever his opponents try and cheat him out of a hard-earn victory. But not all is as it seems in the shadows of Stormwall, and if Tay can figure out the importance of what it is he's stolen, he may just have a chance at saving the game of Runicka. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Runicka: Tournament of Monsters is a high fantasy, card game-based adventure novel with enough magic, worldbuilding, and characters to fill a Sanderson series. I would consider it a part of the GameLit subgenre. This series in particular is not an isekai, and will start and end in a high fantasy setting complete with its own lore and backstory. It is a progression fantasy, and I am writing it inspired by all the Yu-Gi-Oh mangas/animes, and all the hours I've invested/wasted (depending on who you ask) playing TCGs like Yu-Gi-Oh and Magic: The Gathering. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is a work in progress. In your journey through Stormwall alongside Tay, you'll probably find typos, grammatical errors, and maybe a confusing sentence every once in a while (although I hope to keep these to a minimum). That said, comments and suggestions on where I can improve are not only encouraged but greatly appreciated. And finally, expect new chapters every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~**Currently on a small hiatus. I have a bit of a workplace crisis going on. I'm still writing, but I don't have time to polish and publish. Chapters will return on a regular basis soon though!!**
