Chapter 11 – Power leveling
The morning light finally arrive. I did not get any sleep due to the trait of my divine body. Had to meditate and forcibly cut off my consciousness a bit. Being awake all night without games or internet access is very boring. I should really find a way to get the internet browser on my game menu work again. Connect me to Earth. What is the point of having great power. If I can’t abuse the hell out of it?
The others start to awaken. They prepare for the trip back to the mansion. I notice Lancer looking around confused and unsure what to do. I wave her over. She moves to my position.
“Fumu, Lancer. I will need you to stay close to me. Don’t wander off when we enter the forest.” –Dasas
“Yes…master” –Lancer
I thought about holding her hand. Decided against it. I want her to learn to be independent as soon as possible. Everyone is packed up and ready to leave this empty village. We left along the flat grassland and enter into the forest to make way to my mansion.
During the trip we encountered random weak monsters such as rabbits and wolves. They were around the levels of two to eight. I got the idea if Lancer can get experience points credit by doing some damage to an enemy in a party configuration.
Lancer is registered to my party, even though it is over the six member limit. The restriction is probably lifted in this world, since it is not a game. While making way in the forest. I pick up a few random pebbles off the ground. Have Lancer throw them at enemies to see if she can get experience point credit. Saber will tank so the monsters will not attack Lancer. Making it a safe fight.
We encounter a few random monsters or beasts. Lancer throws a pebble at them as hard as she can. While Saber tanks and do a kill shot. The test prove successful. Lancer reaches level three once we neared the mountain mansion. Lancer being a member of my party probably gave the power of the, Arlenia Fantasy Online, game battle system. Could be due to her blessing too. I am unsure. We are such cheaters in this world. Then I did become a god. That in itself is a cheat.

Finally, we reach my mansion with Assassin and Caster waiting at the front entrance to greet us. They must be hungry. Being left in the mansion yesterday without food. We all move to the dirt plot courtyard located on the side of my mansion. Build a small bonfire and cook some grub. I have no kitchen in my mansion. I am forced to cook outside for now until I can build one. Assassin and Caster are happy to finally be able to fill their stomachs. I am happy to be home.
I assign one of the empty bedrooms on the third floor of my mansion to Lancer. I made my way up to the fourth floor. My workshop. Once there I proceed to the storage room. Taking a single copper ingot and a copper sheet. I start to synthesize a short pole and a spearhead. Completing the copper polearm. I go to get Lancer to equip it.
The copper polearm is as tall as she is. Should be okay for her to handle in combat. I tied a leather rope around the upper part of the polearm. She may use it as a shoulder strap to carry the polearm on her back. When not in use. Probably best to just use the polearm as a sort of walking stick too, for easy travel. I will leave it up to her. I also crafted a small lightweight copper breastplate, for Lancer to equip to protect her heart. For now, I will wait until Lancer raise her level more. Before making her metal gauntlets and greaves.
I also made her rings and a necklace with enchantments. They greatly increases attack, defense and overall raise her power. Thanks to my high goldsmithing craft skill. Lancer should now be ready for combat battle training in the forest with the current equipment. For the power leveling party. I had Saber come as tank and healer. Archer will be there to navigate the forest. I just come along to watch the progress of Lancer’s training. I am afraid to leave her alone with the NPCs.

Lancer with her copper spear takes on a level four forest wolf as her first real fight. A fodder mob in my eyes, but an epic battle for Lancer. At first Lancer is nervous and scared when confronting the wolf. After piercing it with her spear successfully. While Saber held it down. Lancer start to get used to it.
Lancer start to smile then laugh while repeatedly piercing the wolf with her spear. Lancer gave into her bloodlust already in her first real fight. It is not normal for a human. This has to be attributed to her new status. She received from me. I [Scan] her.
Lancer – Warrior – Champion of Dasas – Level 3
Lancer receives the job class warrior. The same one from the game. It is a front-line melee class that can learn and use any weapon. A very basic melee fighter. Lots of potential in growth. Should suit her fine. We pretty much spent a whole week power-leveling Lancer in the forest. We also had Rider come along sometimes to teach her survival skills.
The strongest monster Lancer faced so far in her training is a level sixteen jaguar. Sadly, there was nothing stronger in the forest. Truly, a low level forest so power-leveling is not as great. I be sure to find a higher level area in the future to train her.
After a week or so of leveling. Lancer is able to reach level nine. Not too bad for a week’s worth of work in this world. I imagine she should be able to defeat a grown man one-on-one now. The village guards my group defeated in the village a week ago was around that level.
Once Lancer reaches level ten. It will be good enough for her to join us on our adventures. I want to find a town of some sort to get information and to get supplies. While I am idling in my mansion thinking of what to plan in the future. A message window pops up.
Warning: Hostile forces are approaching the Home Base of administrator Dasas
What the hell? Did the kingdom finally sent an attack force against me, for the village incident? Shit I better check them out to see how strong the force is. Another message window pops up when I am contemplating my battle strategy.
Do you wish to create a Divine Barrier around Home Base and prevent any living thing from entering without permission?YesNo
Holy hell. Such a convenient power exist? Being a god is such a cheat for reals. I immediately press the [Yes] option. A clear slight blueish magic barrier start to surround my mountain. Giving it a very mystic feel. I bet my mountain lets out a spiritual atmosphere now. Like a great deity is residing there. Which really is the case.
I gather all my NPCs. Also took along Lancer to give her experience doing battle with human targets instead of monsters. We made our way out of the mansion. Leaving the mountain sanctuary and enter the forest where the enemy is on the move. I had Archer find and track them with [Wide Scan]. Realized they were about two miles away from the mountain. They were pretty close.
Archer’s [Wide Scan] detected around twenty humanoid targets approaching our position. Not an army at least but still a sizable group nonetheless. My party lies in wait for their approach…

The materials and power crystal they bring back foster a new age, both military and civilian. Aether-powered Skyships prowl the skies, as all the great nations blessed by the Gates try to turn the blessings of the Labyrinth into immediate advantages. But for Jonas, an apprentice leatherworker, his friend Ira, and so many Londoners, the fabled ones that walk the Labyrinth are distant heroes, seen from afar. They fell short when their Potential was measured, and they fill their mundane lives with distant dreams. One man wants to break the stalemate. The Tyrant of the Dominion of France, Napoleon Bonaparte, has a plan. Eighteen years after the world changed, he will force it to change again. And when civilians are caught in the fallout, the unthinkable happens. Six people, unqualified, forbidden to ever enter the Labyrinth, find themselves stranded in a distant zone, forcefully turned into Professionals. They know little of what that means, but they have to figure out the rules that are now their lot, for they have little hope to escape their predicament otherwise. They need to understand what the descriptors in their minds mean, what each of the strange piece of gear waiting in treasure chests behind terrible guardians can bring them. They have to become Professionals on their own and rejoin the Empire. They will figure out their new lives one way or another. But will there be an Empire waiting for them when the Gates re-open? Caught in a clash of empires and high tiers, they will do what little they can. They will step up and do their best. One way or another. The Infinite Labyrinth is a slice-of-life litRPG adventure set in a real historical setting. It's a hard, crunchy litrpg. Expect blue boxes everywhere, and the system itself is very mathy. It started life as a serial. I prepared some proper worldbuilding, with enough details and background for lots of different potential story arcs, but as I wrote, I realized the main story needs to have a definitive end. So, there are four books in total, for a bit under 1500 pages, plus additional side stories, and even maybe a sequel one day. The Gore tag was added as a precaution because there are a few scenes with some light gore.

Reasons to Stay
Immortality has a cost, it differs from person to person. Some regret seeing their loved ones die, some regret they themselves cannot die, some regret the boredom and some regret nothing. This man regrets not having a choice, so after millions of years of getting shot, beheaded, beaten, stabbed and stoned he escaped from the world by hiding in a bunker with his books. He had studied all forms of science, he had lived history and created art, he was content with being alone with his mind until one day a man with a monocle appears, and he learns the truth. Hi! This is my second novel and I just had this idea when I was trying to sleep and my mind was making me re-live all those goddamn nightmares you don't want when it's 1 am and dark as shit, so I thought of happy things like the fantasy genre and my inevitable death and i'm like why not?
