I am a slave. I vaguely remember the time before I became a slave. I was living in the slums of a city. I don’t recall the name. I had an older sister that took care of me and brought me food. We were orphans with no parents. The life was harsh back then, but I was happy. I had my sister at least, so I wasn’t lonely. That life ended abruptly. When slave traders captured us.
I can only describe my life going straight to hell. When my sister and me were in the hands of slave traders. To ensure we don’t defy our masters. We were repeatedly beaten and violated. I still remember seeing the body of my older sister being violated by several men. While they cursed and beat her in the process. Since I was extremely young at the time. The men only beat me. Not too harsh, or I would die. They don't want to lose their investment.
Sometime later. When we were stripped of our humanity. Made into living dolls that won’t disobey. We were given metal collars to put on our necks. Showing our status as slaves. My sister and me were separated around that time. I never once saw her again after that. She probably was serving a master somewhere, or was dead. I don’t know which is worse.
I was then bought by a fat ugly looking noble with lust in his eyes. He poked his fingers into my private parts repeatedly in excitement. The noble was named Anthony Bourdain. He was part of a powerful family that ruled a huge territory.
Life under my new master was horrible. Especially at night as he violates all of my body orifices. The men would always praise goddess Lana as they beat and rape girls. Savage laughter as they proclaim it was the will of the world.

I despise the goddess Lana. She took my sister away. Filled my life with nothing but pain and suffering. Why is god so cruel? Sadly, I just accepted the truth and gave up. Not caring anymore.
Since my master was a noble with a strong family background. He would move around a lot and take me along with him. I started to learn how to read since master would always read his documents out loud. He read it in front me while straddling me from behind.
My master took charge of a village being built on the frontier. A big gamble for him. If the village succeeds. It will increase his wealth and prestige immensely.
Master also took me along to live with him. When he went to live in the frontier village as their village chief. The village was very small. The buildings made of wood look very cheaply made. Only useful to somewhat keep out the elements. It did not matter to me. I am a slave so no matter where I go to live. It will be the same treatment.
Sometime later. I don’t know when. As a slave I have no use for sense of time. News of a mysterious mountain with a red castle on top appeared in the forest. In front of the village. Everyone became fearful, and proclaiming it was the work of the demon race. Only they would use powerful and odd magic.
The demon race should not be up this far north in Zorya. That would mean the kingdom of Korin had fallen. The day after the mountain appeared. It was the day my life would change forever. The village was attacked.
That day. My master ordered me to stay at the entrance of the house until he returned. He left with the village guards to engage the attackers. The loud clashing of weapons and screams echoed throughout the village. It told of how fierce the battle was.

The unarmed villagers panicked and prepared to escape the village. Yelling we are doomed, since the enemy was winning. They kept saying the enemy was bandits. Others saying they were demons coming from that mountain. Either way, the villagers did not stick around long enough to verify the truth.
After the villagers ran away. There was only silence. The battle has ended. I just waited at the same spot where my master ordered me to stay. I was fearful, but waited for either my master or the enemy to appear. It won’t matter anyway. My life sucks, so it can’t get any worse. If I am killed then that was the will of the so-called goddess Lana. The name I curse within my heart.
While waiting. A tall handsome man with light blue clothing came and accompanied by a beautiful tall blond woman. She had pointy long ears. Wearing metal armor that shined brightly in the sun. I suddenly reminded of the story about demons from the mountain. I was fearful, but I didn’t show it. If they are bringing death then so be it.
Oddly enough. Instead of death. The demons gave me something else entirely. The man in light blue only gave me a sad look with a smile. Very different from the usual creepy smiles that men give. I was still confused at the time. I didn’t understand what the man meant.
Having been a slave for so long. I was afraid of disobeying orders. Master ordered me to stay still at this spot. I told the man in blue that. He then told me to follow him, and he would take me to my master. I complied.
I follow after the two demons from behind. They took me to where master was laying on the ground with his eyes shut. At the time. I thought master was dead. Then the man in blue kicked him, and master awoke with fear showing on his face. I never got to see my master with such a fearful expression. Where he was not in a position of authority. Made me feel very happy inside.
While my master and the man in blue argued. Suddenly, the man ordered the blond woman to cut off my slave collar. Being free of the collar gave me a very odd sensation. I touch my neck in confusion. That was when master became furious. He yelled at the man in blue. Then the man took out a knife and injured master.
A thunder storm came. The man in light blue clothing yelled out proclaiming himself as the War God Dasas. At the time. I was so shocked at the scene. It was so glorious and so divine. The feeling of extreme excitement cause my heart to rage. I decided right then and there. I would follow this man.
He truly did give off the image of a god. He who gave back my humanity. I joined god and his followers down the path of adventure and glory, but that is a story for another time.

Cycles of Ruin
Civilizations rise and fall. Kith build them up and monsters, led by powerful dungeon keepers, bring them to ruin. For three thousand years the cycle has been maintained by the Guild of Chaos and its endless hordes of minions who—in absence of their long lost creators—have taken it upon themselves to keep the realms of the universe in balance. The Guild has grown efficient at this task, but some among its ranks have begun to ponder the utility of a universe that has been robbed of the very possibility of change. Basil von Doom is one such dungeon keeper working for the Guild, leading an army of loyal minions from one conquest to the next; burning civilizations and sifting through the ruins in search of forbidden knowledge that the races of kith were never meant to possess. But having spent more than half a century in pursuit of glory and fame—trying to live up to the legacy of his father—Basil has grown indifferent towards his work. Desperate for a worthy challenge, but bound by his duties as a dungeon keeper, he has turned his mind towards uncovering the ultimate fate of the previous master of his house and the secrets that were buried with him. Now the young Master of House Doom must balance his growing interest in pursuing the trail of his father with the responsibilities that come with running a dungeon in service to the Guild of Chaos. To remain in good standing with the Guild, Basil has even accepted the task of mentoring an apprentice dungeon keeper, a young succubus named Elnora. It is at the tail end of her apprenticeship that the story begins; with a civilization poised to fall—its greatest heroes gathering for one last assault on the heart of darkness—and Basil striking up a conversation with his apprentice that will set into motion the unraveling of the universe. ***This is a rewrite and continuation of my story that was first posted on RoyalRoad a few years ago.

Mary Susan Oceanrunner and the Brutus Saint's Academy
Join Mary Susan Oceanrunner on her quest to do... erm... something really important for the world... probably... Ahem. Long gone are the days when every hero could do whatever they wanted - now, we are civilised. We have government. Law. And proper forms. Lots of proper forms. (Final episode 25/07/2022. Also - beta readers far into the book rate the 'gore' degree as below 2/10, so the warning is a bit much) Mary Susan Oceanrunner is a poor girl from the orphanage, who like many others before, has to fulfil her destiny. The prophecy had been told, and she is the only one who can make things right. Erm... probably. Anyway, she can't just go and kill monsters like in the middle ages. First, she must apply for the appropriate permissions, fill the forms, learn about the proper loot taxations... Hey, no one said adventuring would be easy, right? Disclaimers: No claim made by any character by the book should be treated as the author's or anyone else's opinion on any subject. Most likely, it was just the funniest thing the Author could think of at the time of writing. This book contains many references to other works. It will probably be best enjoyed by individuals familiar with at least some of the following: 1) Computer games2) Fantasy in general3) Science fiction4) Tabletop RPGs5) Conspiracy theories6) Corporation work life7) Long forgotten prophecies uttered millennia ago in almost as forgotten languages under a starless night three dusks before the great convergence8) Filling any government-mandated form9) School10) EnglishMy ultimate goal is to make as many people experience something akin to joy while reading (think ~a bit louder exhale through the nose). It doesn't mean every scene will be funny or joyful because that's not how this stuff works. I can neither confirm nor deny having any other hidden agenda outside of that.
