A Little of world History
The planet Kapteyn has numerous continents with different races in each one. Nobody knows how big the planet is, only that even after centuries, no one has claimed to found the end of it or go around it. The reason for this is simple, the world is to big and too dangerous to carry out
Thanks to the numerous mana veins around the world, all kind of dangerous creatures have being born, making long distant travels, for either land, air or sea, to dangerous to carry out without making settlements first. This make every kingdom or race that tried to expand their borders make it really slowly.
Also when they tried to go to a new continent, crossing the sea was extremely difficult since sending a great amount of boats cause the sea big sea creatures to notice then, so it was hard and expensive to send an army through water. But even if they manage to do it, if it was already inhabited by a different kingdom or race, it was really hard to conquer since fighting with 20% of your strength against 100% is a big difference.
Continent History
This bring us to the Yerwall continent. Usually one, two or three races was the most common thing in each continent, beside the usual monsters of course, but Yerwall was a bit unique in that aspect. The first known habitants of this continent was the demon race, nobody knows when they arrived, but they were already there and had many cites around it when the war started.
Fist came the beast race, always searching for new enemy's to fight, they didn't lose the opportunity when they meet the demon race as a new challenge.
Since the Beast race was also at war with the elf, the information leaked to them so they also send their warriors to try to conquer the continent before the best race.
And of course, this brought the attention and interest of two of the other races that had dealings with the elf(both in good and bad ways), the dwarf and humans. The dwarf wanted new placed to mine and the humans wanted more land(like the elf actually). Since the humans had multiple kingdoms, when one send his army to conquer the new land, their rival country also send their respective army's to fight in the new continent.
All this caused that the demon race was suddenly invaded by 4 races and 5 kingdoms(since 2 were human) and were losing ground fast. The war went for decades until the different races manage to set their own country, diving the continent into 6 kingdoms.

Right now they are at peace with a few fights here and there but there is a bloody history behind it and it is never know when a new war will start
Human race
Usually lives 80 years but the amounts doubles if they can use inner mana(mana inside their body's) or outer mana(mana around them) and if they live in an environment rich in mana, the life expectancy also extend, making the average of 500 years in ideal circumstance.
Commoners have a 10% chance of being able to use inner or outer mana, and 2% of using both. Meanwhile, since nobles had to marry among people capable of using mana in some way, they have a 50% chance of using either and 10% of using both.
Griffon Empire
Started as a colony of the Dragon empire but after decades of working under it, the 4th prince took rule of the colony and named his independence from the empire so they could stop paying taxes. A war started against the dragon empire that took a lot of resources from both kingdoms but they manage to win in the end and the new king renamed his kingdom as Griffon empire.
Still, even if they won against the dragon empire, the other kingdoms took advantage of the weaken state of the Griffon empire and they never manage to come back to the prosperity they had before the war until the wise king came and manage to even surpass it.
Zergeite Kingdom
Also a human colony from a bigger kingdom, they still keep up paying their "tribute" to their kingdom to this day. The benefits of being a colony instead of their own kingdoms are that they get support in time of crisis, a great amount of soldiers for free and if some new technology is discover, the kingdoms share it for free among their colonies. Well, if the kingdom is in crisis, the colony must send extra "tribute" and soldiers.
Their amount of land is around the same as the Griffon empire after the ruling of the wise king but had a greater share before it even when they were a colony.
They have tried to unite both kingdoms for years, both with peace and with war, without success since not only the Griffon empire didn't want to be the colony of other kingdom, the other races also didn't want for the humans to join force, so they usually intervene when necessary.
Elf Race
Original, there was only the High elf, immortal being extremely powerful since all of them could use inner and outer mana effectively. Sadly their fertility was low so being in constant war was dangerous for them
Advertisement
This make them decided to breed with human, creating the half elf that have higher fertility than them (but less than humans) and still powerful but not immortal since they only live 700 years. They had being made to use for war and since they weren't immortal and most of them couldn't use inner mana after two generations(all of them could use outer mana), the high elf were treating them like second class citizens.
Elf empire
After the high elf send the half elf to conquer the continent, they killed all the high elfs send with them and declared their independence. The high elf tried to punish them but sadly almost every half elf they send joined them and sending to many high elf would be a great lost, so they left them alone
In the end, they declare themself elf and their old overlords high elf, and took root in the continent. Since they were elf, they consider themself better than the other races(quite stuck up) and had some hatred against the humans since it was their blood that make them weaker and impure. Well, they also didn't like the dwarves because they lived in caves, the beast race because they were animals, and the demons race because they were freaks of nature.
Their amount of land is bigger than the human kingdoms but smaller than both of them together. They kept mostly to themself and the leader is usually an elf that can use both inner and outer mana that the population choose by vote.
dwarves Race
Similar to humans, they have a 15% of having inner or outer mana and 3% of having both but unlike them, they have great constitution and are quite skilled with their hands. They live up to 700 years even if they can't use mana but don't have great fertility. They compensate by being expert at all kind of tools, both magical and normal.
They are quite greedy by nature, and are great at both commercial transactions and secret deals.
dwarves Union
They belong to the dwarves union, a conglomerate of different country's and continents that shares their resources and findings. They came to the continent to extract the minerals and look for new stuff to sell, since every continent usually have a new resource to extract.
Since they relay mostly on items, they aren't great at attacking since they quickly ran out of resources and the enemy end up using their weapons against them, but on the contrary, attacking a dwarven city is almost suicide since they have all kind of traps and tools ready
They live usually in the mountains so they don't have much flat land but if you take into consideration of all the veins in the mountains, their kingdom is quite big.
Beast Race
It is a conglomerate of different tribes that are half beast half man. They love to fight and usually go around the world searching for new enemy's to fight. They have the highest fertility of all races and 20% of them can use inner mana, and even those who can't are quite strong. There are too few that can use outer mana but it is unknown if it is because it is hard for them or they just don't like it. Their life expectancy was 80 to 150 for normal and 200 to 300 for inner mana warriors
Beast tribe
They have the greatest amount of land, but half of it belong to a desert were strong magical beast inhabit. They go to war against the other races from time to time, but they mostly enjoy fighting against the magical creatures around the continent(especially the desert)
Since they relay mostly in numbers and brute force, they are great at invading but usually lose a lot of land in the process. The ret of the kingdoms consider them a pain, so as long as they don't get attack by them, they leave them alone
Demon Race
Red eyes, horns and bat wings give them a bad reputation and since most of them can use inner mana and outer mana, the are really strong. Their fertility and life expectancy is similar to the dwarves
They select the strongest as the king and get to rule the kingdom until he is defeated or dies and a new one has to be selected.
Demon Empire
First inhabitant of the continent, it isn't know were they came from. They first meet the beast race but since the other kingdoms took opportunity of the war, they end up fighting against the four races until they were force to move to an Island near the continent. Of course this happen since not only were they fighting against the 4 races, but the humans elf and dwarves were afraid of their strength so their force them to move there.
They have stayed in their island till today and it is almost as big as the elf kingdom, but they still hold a grudge against the 4 races since the beast started all and the other 3 joined forces to banish them.
Other races
There are other races going around the world like the mermaids, dragons orcs, etc. But since they didn't manage to put their footing in the Yerwall continent, they won't be mention here.
