《Battling Records of the Chosen One》C154. The Burning Fury

“Ooh ooh~!”
The lad tied to the gallows was screaming, but because his mouth was gagged, he could only let out a muffled sound.
His face twisted in pain, and his blood poured out from his broken arm. But, no matter how he struggled, it was of no avail.
The Voodoo-Barbarian appeared to enjoy the lad’s screams. He cut off the other arm of the lad with a knife, so skilled in manipulation. Apparently, he had done such things for many times.
Gurgling~
The two broken arms sank or emerged in the boiling water in the iron pot, with the dazzling blood rolling like waves.
The lad stiffened, and then blacked out due to the pain.
The captive empire’s soldiers in the nearby cage were badly upset upon witnessing such a cruel scene. The angry curses, screams, and even desperate roars interwove with each other, spreading continuously.
However, all the Voodoo-Barbarians burst into laughter.
“Shit. The human bastards are too weak to endure such little pain.”
After a curse, that male Voodoo-Barbarian picked up a bucket full of cold water and splashed it hard on the lad. Trembling, the lad woke up from his unconsciousness with a start. However, dreadfully pale, his face twisted in extreme pain.
Puff! Puff! Puff!
The Voodoo-Barbarian raised his knife and cut off the lad’s ears, feet, legs in a row...Just like an animal to be slaughtered, the lad was covered with blood, each piece of whose flesh was thrown into the iron pot.
Witnessing such a cruel and bloody scene, all the empire’s soldiers caged were on the verge of a breakdown. Full of unspeakable anger and unwillingness, they screamed and roared constantly.
Standing on the peak of a mountain in the distance, Lin Xun wore an extremely cold look with the intense killing intent filling in his eyes.
Each cut landing on the lad was like an invisible thorn that stabbed hard into Lin Xun’s heart time after time.
The lad’s twisted and terrified look, the hysterically furious roars from the cages, the hideous but gloating laughter of those voodoo-barbarians, the blood boiling in the iron pot...
Lin Xun was so enraged upon seeing those scenes that green veins in his forehead bulged. As if a fire-tongs was stuffed in his chest, blood in his whole body was burning and Lin felt like he was going to explode.
Lin Xun knew that the Voodoo-Barbarian Tribe was the mortal enemy of the empire, and there were many cruel and bloody punishments in the world. But, when he witnessed his fellows be slaughtered like animals, he couldn’t hold back his fury!
When he was about to lose his mind and rush out because of his increasing anger, a trace of unspeakable thrill rose in his heart, calming him down a lot.
With his eyes running down the camp in the canyon, he discovered many questions. There were 39 voodoo-barbarians in the camp, only three of whom were Barbarian Slaves at the ninth level.
The Barbarian Slaves at the ninth level were equal to the practitioners at the ninth level of Martial Realm in terms of the combat effectiveness.
Except for the three Barbarian Slaves, the other voodoo-barbarians were all under the ninth level.
For the elites of the Bloodthirsty Camp, they were just unthreatening nobodies; but now, they looked quite fearless, which was unusual since they had the camp stationed in such a visible place, and they had arrested so many the empire’s soldiers.
If they only wanted to make the empire’s soldiers suffer, they didn’t need to act so boldly. It felt like that they, on purpose, cruelly cut the flesh of an empire’s soldier in front of so many people.
Why did they act like this?
An idea came to Lin; that it was a trap for luring more practitioners of the empire to jump into it!
Thinking that he almost fell into a trap just now, Lin Xun couldn’t help feeling a chill.
This trap wasn’t delicate at all, and it could be even described as simple and crude. However, none of the practitioners in the empire could think too much upon witnessing the scenes that the empire’s soldiers were slaughtered by those voodoo-barbarians.
As Lin Xun took several deep breathes, he became stone-faced again. Having managed to control the burning fury and killing intent, he silently waited for a chance.
Waiting was doomed to torturous, though.
A crueler scene took place after the lad was slaughtered, and his body was cooked thoroughly. His flesh and blood were placed on the plates and became the food for the other voodoo-barbarians.
Seeing this kind of bloody scenes, Lin Xun really wanted to rush out regardless. But, deep down, he knew that if he exposed himself now, he would fall into the trap, let alone save others.
The fierce conflict of the sense and emotion tortured Lin’s heart as if he was burned by fire. He couldn’t do anything but gritted his teeth and tried his best to control his impulse.
The night fell soon.
The campfire in the camp was so fierce that it became more and more conspicuous. Those voodoo-barbarians didn’t seem to care about whether it would lure the enemies to come over.
In the evening, those voodoo-barbarians utilized the same method to slaughter three captive soldiers of the empire again.
Lin Xun silently watched and didn’t miss any scenes. He wanted to remember everything, and he didn’t allow himself to neglect any details!
Finally, he understood why there was an irreconcilable feud between the empire and the Voodoo-Barbarian Tribe; it was because what they had done couldn’t be forgiven!
Nothing took place in the camp till the dawn. None of the empire’s practitioners fell into the trap, which quite disappointed the voodoo-barbarians.
As the Voodoo-Barbarian wanted to slaughter one more soldier, someone stopped him.
It was a middle-aged Barbarian Slave at the ninth level. The dazzling golden color in his eyes showed that he was a Gold Barbarian.

“In my view, there aren’t human bastards around.”
Then, he uttered a long obscure and weird cry.
Upon the cry, eight figures flew out from a hill behind the camp and landed in the camp promptly.
As soon as Lin Xun saw clearly that they were all Barbarian Slaves at the ninth level, his pupils shrank. Apparently, they had earlier lurked in the darkness, waiting for the empire’s practitioners to fall into the trap.
After the middle-aged barbarian talked for a while with the other Barbarian Slaves at the ninth level, they seemed to reach an agreement. Afterwards, seven Barbarian Slaves led a group of voodoo-barbarians to leave here quickly.
Four Barbarian Slaves at the ninth level and 16 voodoo-barbarians under the ninth level were left in the camp, so was the middle-aged barbarian.
As soon as Lin Xun, who had controlled his fury for a night, saw this scene, the long-suppressed killing intent and fury in his heart soared up and boiled like molten lava.
The chance finally came!
…
In the camp, a Barbarian Slave at the ninth level strode towards one of the cages. He pulled out a girl, with lewd laughter, pressed her onto the ground, and stripped off all her clothes.
The girl screamed and struggled with scare and rage. But the Barbarian Slave sneered at her gloatingly. His body pressed hard on hers.
“Human bitch! Whore! It’s your honor to be fucked by me. Shame on your screams!” The other voodoo-barbarians burst into laughter.
The caged human soldiers roared with extreme outrage.
As the girl was about to be raped, a rainbow-like light rushed out from afar at the moment, sending out a shrill whistle.
With a bang, an arrow like lightning pierced through the shoulder of the Barbarian Slave, sending him away in the midst of his screams.
“Enemy attack!”
“Enemy attack!”
The entire camp was uproarious. Those voodoo-barbarians roared, and began to move.
Whoosh!
Instead of dodging, Lin Xun directly launched an attack from the front door. Brandishing the Army Breacher in his hand continuously, he killed three voodoo-barbarians who had hurtled towards him, with their blood splashing everywhere.
Without any hesitation, he directly rushed forward. As his black hair was dancing in the wind, his cold face showed up, with his eyes full of burning killing intent.
Kill!
As if his whole body was on fire, the hatred in his heart exploded, enabling him to give extreme play to his cultivation and skills.
Brandishing his saber!
Swish!
Clang!
At this moment, he was like a blade point from the abyss, utilizing the most domineering means and the most ruthless techniques to kill the enemies.
The blood splashed everywhere!
The amputated limbs were scattered everywhere!
The heartrending screams rose one after another.
Seemingly unaware of this, Lin Xun only wanted to annihilate all those hideous Voodoo-Barbarian bastards that were wicked to the extreme.
There was total chaos in the camp. No one had seen this coming and no one expected that a teenager should possess such cruel and formidable battle means. He was totally different from the Reshahar Army’s fighters in the empire. It was so terrifying!
Bang!
With his arm being numb, he found his saber blocked, and then a Barbarian Slave appeared in front of him. The Barbarian Slave was rushing at him with a heavy hammer in his hand.
Lin Xun directly rushed forward instead of making a dodge. Although his shoulder was hit by the hammer, his body just shook slightly. He then continued to rush forward, and stabbed his saber hard into the abdomen of the Barbarian Slave. Subsequently, as Lin twisted the saber, tremendous spiritual energy rushed out of the saber, leaving the slave flying far away as easily as a piece of paper and dead suddenly.
Confronted with the desperate combat technique that made both sides suffer great losses, many voodoo-barbarians felt terrified.
Where did the teenager come from?
He was too daunting!
His shoulder was in great pain, and the bones almost broke. But, he didn’t seem to notice this. He kept dashing forward with a saber in his hand. Tough and ruthless, he was like the God of Death.
“Get him trapped!”
“Besiege him together!”
As the furious roars arose, a group of voodoo-barbarians launched attacks in a row in an attempt to kill him.
However...
It was doomed to be of no avail. Since Lin Xun joined in the Bloodthirsty Camp for training, his combat effectiveness had already become astoundingly high. Even some overmatches at the ninth level of the Martial Realm couldn’t be the matched rivals for him, not to mention other ordinary practitioners.
Wen Mingxiu, Shiao Kun, and Hu Long were all talented with the cultivation of top ninth level of Martial Realm, but both Wen and Hu suffered a fiasco, and even Shiao couldn’t easily defeat Lin.
More importantly, Lin Xun hadn’t practiced the Nature Insight & Spirit-Devour Scripture yet when he was in the battle with Shiao Kun!
Now, even Young Ke, as Lin’s drillmaster, couldn’t tell how high his combat effectiveness was exactly!
Under the circumstances, those voodoo-barbarians wanted to kill Lin by attacking him together, which was just a pipe dream.
Kill!
The voodoo-barbarians were executed one after another, leaving the blood and bodies piled up soon on the ground.
On the other side of the camp, the caged soldiers of the empire had already been astounded upon witnessing this scene.
Like the Demon, the teenager who was bathed in blood was a savior to them. They felt it so incredible as if they were in a dream.

Ph. D. In Sorcery
Follow Anastasia, the unlucky physicist turned wizard, as her reality gets turned upside down and she is plunged into a world of gods, magic, swords, and adventure. Short and sweet description, anything more would be a spoiler and I detest those. Now, what you can expect from reading: This is my first time writing, or better said allowing someone else to read that mess so don’t raise your expectations too much. Still, I will try to keep the story flowing, while also devoting as much time as I can to editing. In my opinion, the story is written at a faster pace than normal with time skips here and there. I will do my best to not allow the faster pace to ruin the story by using those time skips to raise the skill of the main character. I am mainly looking for feedback while I test myself in new and unexplored waters. I did put a lot of thought into worldbuilding and the magic system, it is something that has been mulling inside my head for years before I sat down to write anything down. First and foremost I am an engineer and not a writer. I will try to do my utmost to make the world logical and consistent, but sometimes I might not express that in a way that’s clearly understood. I have a rough outline with several possible endings, but the story will change and evolve as I do. But in case I have to stop for whatever reason, the story will get an ending. It will be done even if I have to send coded messages from a bunker. I am a big fan of the Dresden Files so you can be certain that everything mentioned will in most cases be used, with a few red herrings sprinkled in the mix. But that also means I will enjoy putting the main character through the meat grinder while I eat popcorn and laugh from my evil lair. Physics, and to be more precise electromagnetism, quantum field theory, general and special relativity are very interesting topics for me that I research in my spare time. That means that the premise of the story will be using that research to bring logic to magic. Stupid I know, magic is magic, but to me, there is no reason why there shouldn’t be a concrete set of rules there. But it is still magic and that allows me to play with some things that shouldn’t normally be possible. I will focus on evolving the main character and having her react as anyone normal would, from my perspective. There will be scenes of battle, gore, and sexy times, but I will not go into too many details, counting on your imagination to fill the gaps. There will be plenty of combat, even battles ranging from a few dozen, a hundred, and thousands of participants. I could go on but there isn’t much to say that would convince anyone to read, either you thought the title was cool or you liked the poster. Or not, but after several days in photoshop, that’s the best I could do. And the title was originally Sorceress with a Ph.D. The new one makes a little less sense but I like the ring of it more for some reason. I just hope someone enjoys what I write as much as I do. In the end that is the reason, I am doing this, because I enjoy putting my thoughts on paper and seeing the outcome. Credit for the art: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/e0o8nw

The Garbage Man
2021/10/20 - Taking this down for a complete rewrite. I like the plot but the writing on the first attempt is... Garbage :/ Jack was just waiting for the storm to pass. It wouldn't. What it did was take him on the journey of a lifetime. A lot of lifetimes, in fact. This is a cultivation/wuxia story at its core. May contain young masters, martial arts and magic. * 14/08/2020 - Rough editing done on the published chapters, hooray! Now to resume normal - edited! - releases.
