《Battling Records of the Chosen One》C163. Grabbing Military Merits

On the volcano were lying fragmentary corpses all over the field. Bloody mist was pervading this place, an eerie silence fell upon the scene at the moment, and a terrifying atmosphere dominated here.
In a daze, all the people looked blankly at Shrizi and the other four strong barbarians who had been killed, and till this moment, they still couldn’t imagine how Lin Xun made it on earth. After all, those who had been killed were extraordinary among the young generation of the Voodoo-barbarians!
They were the real elites in the nine branches of Voodoo-barbarian Tribe, and they were extremely likely to become the mighty ones who could influence the structure and future of the Voodoo- Barbarian Tribe.
Barbarian of this kind could be regarded as one in a thousand even in the whole Voodoo-Barbarian Tribe. They got unimaginable development potential, and even the death of one of them would be a heavy blow to the Voodoo-barbarian Tribe!
In general, it was extremely difficult to kill such a mighty young Voodoo-barbarian in the Demon-cloud Ridge, because they held all kinds of aces in the hole, and got extraordinary adaptability to changes, and even if they couldn’t beat the opponents, they would stand a big chance to run away.
However, right at this moment, as many as five brilliant young Voodoo-barbarians were killed in a split second, and the most terrifying point was that all the people present even didn’t see clearly how Lin Xun launch the attack…
…
In the areas near the volcano, many practitioners of the empire were shocked. With their hearts beating heavily, they all swallowed their saliva with difficulty.
Lin Xun was…so terrifying!
In the distance, Qi Can and Mou Lengshin cast a glance at each other, and both of them could see complex feelings, including strong surprise, confusion and fear from the other’s eyes. They didn’t expect Lin Xun could actually turn the tide, and possess the terrifying power that was mighty enough to kill five top young Voodoo-barbarians!
Cold sweat exuded from their backs. They thought they had regarded Lin Xun as a strong opponent, but they still had underestimated this young man who was a total wild card. According to the power displayed by him, the young man who had once been despised and hated by them actually surpassed them now!
…
The silence was broken by a scream full of terror and panic.
Those mighty Voodoo-barbarians spreading throughout the volcano were just like a herd of frightened animals, and began to escape in noisy disorder.
When the battle just rose its curtain, over fifty mighty Voodoo-barbarians got killed by Lin Xun one after another.
The fact had already shaken their fighting spirit, and the moment they witnessed the instant death of five top guys named Shrizi, Pasun, Rui Huaji, Hua Caiyi, and Min Jiang respectively, the last hint of fighting spirit in their hearts collapsed completely.
Run away! The further, the better!
The young man was actually an undefeatable demon who made them feel desperate.
The situation got chaotic suddenly with the figures fleeing in disorder everywhere.

Lin Xun stood still on the spot, and didn’t chase anyone.
It was not because he didn’t want to, and the fact was that the better part of his energy had been used for performing RFS (Reaching for the Stars). The most terrifying thing was that both the inside and outside of his body, and even his soul were suffering a lancinate pain.
It was the after-effect of utilizing the move of RFS.
RFS was the first move among the three moves in Tianyuan Saberplay, which was an ancient inheritance and the prize for passing the second test on the Green-cloud Path in Heaven-accessing Place.
This saberplay just contained only three moves, namely RFS, DDM (Drawing down the Moon) and ITS (Incinerating the Sun); however, each of them was extremely powerful and abstruse.
The first time Lin Xun began to study the saberplay, he actually couldn’t figure out even a bit of it with his power of understanding.
Until recently, Lin made small progress in practicing the Nature Insight & Spirit-Devour Scripture and then he finally succeeded in figuring out some secrets of RFS.
However, he only had a smattering of it, and it was still far from complete comprehension.
And it was because Lin was caught in a hopeless situation when fighting against Shrizi and the other four guys and had no way to retreat that he utilized the move at all hazards.
But Lin Xun didn’t expect even though he just figured out a smattering of RFS, its power was so terrifying!
At that moment, Lin Xun just felt that his flesh, blood, skin, muscles, bones and even inner acupoints, passages through which vital energy circulated and organs had got a sense of being torn and almost exploded.
The better part of his soul power, in particular, ran out instantly.
All these made Lin Xun realize that the power of RFS was unimaginably great, and he couldn’t put it to good use now.
Fortunately, he just had comprehended a little superficial knowledge of this move, so he could perform it just now by luck.
Meanwhile, the utilization of RFS this time enabled Lin to realize that the display of this saberplay required mighty spiritual energy, a strong body that could bear the enough strength for the utilization of the move, as well as abundant and tough soul power!
In short, although it was seemingly one move in this saberplay, it needed the perfect coordination of one’s body, spiritual energy and soul to fully display.
Exhaling a long breath of foul air, Lin Xun didn’t pay attention to those fugitive mighty Voodoo-barbarians, and began to gather the spoils in on the spot.
His Army Breacher was completely damaged after Lin Xun utilized the RFS and only a section of blade was left, but for Lin, it was enough to cut off some Totem Barbarian Tattoos from the enemies’ corpses.
The corpses on the ground were searched by Lin one by one. From Totem Barbarian Tattoos to personal belongings, as long as they were of value, Lin Xun would pick them up carefully.

They were his trophies! After the bloody battle, these were his rewards.
“Kill!”
“Kill these barbarian bastards!”
“My comrades, go to kill the enemies with me!”
At the foot of the volcano, bursts of shouts and screams arose, resounding to the skies.
It was noticeable that those practitioners of the empire who had originally hidden near the volcano appeared and rushed out this moment.
Each of them exuded abhorrence and looked fearless.
Each of them was just like the dauntless warrior, intending to kill all enemies and rebuild an orderly world.
Lin Xun, who was searching for his trophies, fell in a trance, but immediately a faint sneer appeared on his mouth corners.
How could it be possible that Lin couldn’t figure out their intentions? It was obvious that these guys desired to take advantage of the occasion to get easy profits.
The battle was indeed cruel and miserable. No one wanted to die, so every would weigh the advantages and disadvantages, and make a decision beneficial to himself.
If it was profitable, they would rush out without any hesitation.
If it was unprofitable, they would make the most relentless decision, according to the whole situation.
This made Lin Xun suddenly think of the words in a book called The Secret History of the Empire, which said, “When the warriors no longer face the death unflinchingly, and take actions after weighing the advantages and disadvantages instead, then they aren’t qualified warriors any more.”
However, Lin Xun also knew that the trainees of Bloodthirsty Camp weren’t really warriors.
Their identities were not simple, and they came to participate in the battle just for passing the assessment of Bloodthirsty Camp, so naturally they would not regard themselves as warriors who fought against enemies for the empire, expanded and defended the empire’s territory.
…
The fight at the foot of the volcano was on, but Lin Xun completely didn’t pay attention to it. Lin, who was searching for his spoils, couldn’t help frowning after a while.
A couple of trainees of Bloodthirsty Camp rushed over and began to search for Totem Barbarian Tattoos from the corpses swiftly like Lin, but they didn’t ask for Lin’s permission from beginning to end.
Lin Xun strode up to them, and with a fierce roar made by his broken saber suddenly, Lin hacked right at one of them.
The trainee was caught unprepared, with his face changing sharply, and dodged aside, in panic, screaming in rage, “Lin Xun, are you crazy!?”
Lin looked cold. He didn’t stop, instead, he held his broken saber and kept attacking, which forced the trainees to keep dodging with no time to grab those military merits.
“Lin Xun, what the fuck! You think we dare not strike back against you?”
“Don’t forget that those who kill companions would be beheaded based on the military rules of the empire!”
“This guy must be crazy! We must report his violation of military rules to Senior Colonel Song Ling after the assessment!”
The trainees shouted loudly, and all of them looked furious.
“You didn’t offer help when I was fighting with the enemies. However, you were competing with each other to grab the spoils now. You really think that I don’t dare to kill you?”
Lin Xun stopped, with his black eyes shining, exuding intention of murder.
With their faces changing sharply, the trainees were not convinced, and said, “Grabbing military merits? This is a battlefield! The one who manages to grab the spoil will own it!”
Snorting coldly, Lin Xun rushed forward suddenly. In an instant, Lin smashed his elbow on one trainee’s chest.
Boom! The trainee uttered a heartrending cry, with his whole body being forced to fly to the distance. After rolling down the volcano for over 30 meters, the trainee barely managed to stop himself.
This made the complexions of the other trainees change again. Feeling a chill of fear, they wondered whether the guy really dare ignore the military rules of the empire.
“Remember I killed all of the Voodoo-barbarian bastards, so the spoils should belong to me alone! I’ll kill you if you dare to grab them.”
Glancing at them coldly, Lin turned around and continued to clear the spoils.
The complexions of the trainees got changeable. They looked at Lin with hatred, but none of them dare grab Lin’s military merits.
With the terrifying scene of killing Shrizi and other four barbarians still haunting in their minds, the trainees didn’t dare to provoke the crazy Lin Xun at the risk of their own lives.
“Lin Xun, just wait! Since you ignore the military rules today, you will pay for it when the assessment ends.”
In the distance, many practitioners of the empire were awed after witnessing all this, and then gave up the intention to grab Lin’s spoils.
“A crowd of bums!”
Sneering in the heart, Lin Xun thought what the fuck of violating the military rules. Lin Xun was clear that he got extraordinary military merits this time, and even if those big shots in the Reshahar Army of the empire got to know his behavior just now, they wouldn’t take it as an excuse to punish him.
If they did punish him, it would make those fearless practitioners disappointed, and who would be willing to fight for the empire in the future?
“Fuck! Lin Xun has become more and more arrogant. Does he really think he can ignore the rules after killing some Voodoo-barbarian bastards?”
At the foot of the volcano, having witnessed all that had happened, Mou Lengshin extremely detested the arrogance of Lin Xun.
“Not a single dog can tolerate that the bone he got at the risk of its life is grabbed by others.”
With a touch of sarcasm in his words, Qi Can’s complexion was complicated.
He knew that after the battle, Lin Xun wouldn’t be punished; instead, his position would be hardly shaken in the Bloodthirsty Camp from now on.
Unless…
Unless the guy unfortunately lost his life in the Demon-cloud Ridge!
