《Realistic Tower of God: The Martial Way》Chapter 13- Duels

Two weeks had passed since the first class. Since then, the routine for Liu Guanyi was attending the class, training his body, and learning to control shinsu to use it for the body enhancement technique.
Even though he hadn't made any significant progress in his warrior training due to the lack of food and all even with the boost from shinsu, however, now he could already control Shinsu and use the body enhancement technique.
The application of body enhancement wasn't intricate. From the Ranker's performance and guidance, what he had to was to gather shinsu and distribute it evenly inside his body.
After the talk with the guardian, he tried to feel and grasp the shinsu and after a few days, he successfully managed to do it.
With his vast knowledge of the human body, talent, and determination. He managed to do it after ten days, not a bad result when he compared to other regulars. However, when he compared it to the princess, the disparity was akin to heaven and earth.
Because she could immediately do it just after the Ranker had performed it!
Indeed, her rumors as a prodigy were not unfounded, no… they weren't doing justice to her talents at all. This made Liu Guanyi even more motivated to befriend her!
Even with her status, he could get many benefits, this was apparent since even Borc, a Ranker himself, bootlicked her in the first class meeting.
With her talents, however, if he could climb the tower with her as a team, she could serve as a barrier to any scrutinization toward him. Because no matter how talented he was, he would only be the princess' teammate.
Thus, directing the top dogs' attention away from him and preventing them from being curious about his background, making his advance up the tower much more smooth. And with her enormous talent, that seemed pretty easily achievable.

Within this time, Liu Guanyi hadn't made any move to get closer to her, yet, since he hadn't found any suitable plans and opportunities.
With her background and characters, being interested in her and asking her directly was a no-no, it was clear from Arnold Braun's example. She was a princess from a great empire, with her beauty and status many people would flock in her way whenever she went to bootlick her. Thus, she was indifferent to those people.
From her talent and status, she would far outclass anyone she met in her age group and only older people would be equal to her. Hence, she had matured way faster than anyone in her age. That was why she had no interest in socializing with "childish and uninteresting commoners" and prefer to be alone.
At least that was how Liu Guanyi saw her with his observation in two weeks and his life experience.
That was the reason he had not found any good opportunity and way to get closer to her. Because he had to appear natural when he approached her, not seeming desperate or too eager to get into her good books like those bootlickers.
However, only looking natural was not enough but he also needed to catch her attention and surprise her by showing her a brand new, profound, and unforgettable experience far from what she would meet every day and considered common!
And it seemed that God truly loved him as he granted him, yet another, golden opportunity!
"Today we are not learning in the class as usual. As fishermen, our role is to stand in the frontline to engage with the enemies, stalling them there, creating an opportunity for the spear bearers to throw their spears from afar or if possible… defeat the enemies head-on." Borc explained to the regulars.

There were standing in an open, grassy field. There was a big circle with a diameter of ten meters in the middle of it.
"As you have informed, since there are twenty of you, there will be only five of you that are going to make it in the test. That's why, to see who is the best among you, today I am going to hold a test!"
Hearing this, some of the regulars became smug while some of them became nervous. Of course, the princess was still as uncaring as ever, while Liu Guanyi thought this as an opportunity.
"The test is simple, you will have a one on one duel inside this circle. If you take any wound that will endanger your life, you will lose. If you get knocked unconscious, you will lose, and lastly, if you get out of the circle, you will lose." The Ranker explained as he went around the circle.
"Every time you win a duel, you will earn points and you will go to the next round. With each subsequent round, the points earned will increase. So, keep in mind that the points will determine whether you are worthy or not to climb the tower." When he said this, every regular became serious.
"Now, let the battle begins!" Borc shouted.
The duels were randomly arranged by the ranker. A human regular using a "Needle", a short stick with a pointy end, was up against a six-eyed, yellow-skinned big hybrid.
The fight was uneventful as the human avoided the hybrid slow attacks and continuously stabbed it as the hybrid unconsciously created an opening in its defense every time it attacked.
It finally ended as the six-eyed hybrid was deemed too hurt to keep the duel continued.
The next few duels took place, but none of them stood out as they were only drawn out long physical battles without any usage of Shinsu control techniques. It seemed none of them had grasped the body enhancement technique yet.
Fortunately, those boring duels ended when the princess's turn came. She was only around 1.6 meters while her opponent easily stood above 5 meters, he had four arms and all of them wielded a sword. All in all, he looked extremely terrifying, especially as an opponent in battle.
However, the expected response didn't happen, and instead, the four-armed man was slightly shaking on his legs as he hovered around the edges of the circle looking pretty wary of her.
On the other hand, the "petite" princess walked forward slowly and confidently, her eyes didn't even take a glance at her huge opponent. It seemed that she didn't consider the giant her opponent at all.
She casually took her sword from its scabbard as she suddenly stepped forward, closing the ten meters gap instantly, and slashed her sword from her left side of the head!
