《Realistic Tower of God: The Martial Way》Chapter 65- Workshop Battle Final Part 3

With the light bearer dead and the scout paralyzed with the jellyfish' toxin, the spear bearer and fisherman that were barely hanging on were outnumbered and soon quickly defeated.
The fight only lasted for two minutes until they were slaughtered and their bodies were fed to the Shinheuh.
"Good job, Vena, your control of the jellyfish is getting better." The green-haired man softly rubbed the head of a grey-haired little girl.
"Mmmh, I don't want to just follow big brother, Vena also wants to help!" She answered energetically with her cute little body.
He continued to rub her head as she purred softly. "We might have won this battle easily, but these people aren't even members of the ten great families."
"However, a princess of Zahard is way different than these scrubs, she is dangerous even for us. In the next battle, it's certain that we will face them and there's a chance that we can die against her."
He stopped to take a look at her innocent eyes properly. "To be safe, you should not join the next battle."
"I will make an excuse to the host to let you go, don't worry he can't do much against us with our family's Rankers backing us. There will be someone who will pick you up soon, he has promised me at least this much."
To be honest, he didn't want to provoke and deal with a princess of Zahard at all, even if she wasn't coming from any of the great families, or at least not yet, not as a regular.
Even if he was prideful and looked down on most people with his identity, he knew that there were many people above him and acted cordial toward them.
The princesses of Zahard were the same, he knew that they were more important than him and their relationship was complicated so antagonizing any of them just for the heck of it without any clear purpose was idiotic.

Unfortunately, he didn't have any choice in this matter.
The higher-ups had ordered him for whatever reason not revealed to him, to antagonize Adori Zahard in the Workshop battle and to fight her, and if possible, to kill her in the later stages, and here he was.
Well, at least they have sent a Ranker to back him up and watch over him in case anything happened, especially to deal with the Workshop Ranker.
He knew that the princesses of Zahard were monstrously powerful with the king's blood and understood that his chances to win though not impossible, were low so he wanted Vena to be safe since she had nothing to do with their order.
"No, Vena won't leave big brother! Vena wants to follow big brother!" She stubbornly cried with a loud voice that even took him aback as her eyes looked into his, revealing her determination to follow him.
He shook his head as he had a wry smile as he stopped rubbing her head. "I know that you want to help me, but don't you understand, Vena?"
"There are many things and people that we can't defeat no matter how hard our efforts are, I want you to understand this. You have to grow up one day, big brother can't always protect you."
Her eyes started to water as she listened to his words. "No, Vena doesn't want to leave big brother! Vena likes big brother, if big brother dies, Vena will die together!" She spoke with a trembling, yet strong voice.
"Sigh…" Hearing her emotional plea, he let out a deep sigh and looked into the horizon.
Lives didn't instantly become easy even if he was born in the main branch of the Lo Po Bia family, everyone had their own hardships no matter who they were, and he had them as well.

Probably only the immortal ten great family leaders and king Zahard were truly carefree.
He turned to look at her and smiled. "Okay."
Her watery eyes instantly became bright as a beautiful smile adorned her face. "Yea! Vena loves big brother!" She jumped excitedly to hug him.
However, before she could, a hand quickly chopped her nape and she was instantly sent unconscious. He quickly caught her in a hug before she fell to the ground.
Looking at her peaceful sleeping face, he became emotional as he stroked her gray hair. This could be the last time he could see her and hold her like this.
"We should get moving and transfer her from Archimedes." A man's voice sounded as it interrupted their precious time.
Yacinth turned at the slant-eyed man who knocked her and nodded. "You're right, my bad. I was getting sentimental."
The slant-eyed man smiled. "Don't worry boss, she will be in a good hand."
Yacinth looked at her face again to imprint it to his memories. He took a necklace and put it into her pocket and handed her to his teammate. "Go quickly to move her to that place."
"We have to prepare ourselves to fight what most likely the strongest enemy we have to face till now." He glanced at the arena with what was now, a boisterous crowd as they witnessed a massacre.
It wasn't even a battle as the regulars were slaughtered just within less than a minute into the battle as their bodies were sliced clean, broken, and punctured, and there were only three people left inside the arena.
The slant-eyed saw it as well as he nodded, and quickly went away with Vena.
"Are you sure about this?" The glasses anima who was silent on the sideline from the beginning finally spoke up, however, unlike his usual self, there was no smirk on his face, only seriousness.
Yacinth shook his head. "There's no sure or not, we simply have to do it."
The glasses nodded. "I know, not doing our job will result in a much worse situation than just our deaths, but we have lost contact with Fang, which meant that the princess or that Khun killed him."
Yacinth turned back as a smile formed on his face. "Aren't you always confident? Don't we still have a big chance even with Fang's death with your plan succeeded?"
The anima touched the frame of his glasses as he fixed its position. "Ah, I almost forget…" A smirk surfaced on his face again. "With "that", as long as we caught her off guard, we can certainly finish her."

Ars Magica
Our vision comes back into focus. Our eyes, while being able to perceive the immediate surroundings, still leave us with our minds uncomprehending towards what is actually occurring. Sure, there are definitive things that we can focus on, like the fact that we're either out upon the open sea or the open ocean, there not being much of a difference with no land in sight, as well as the fact that we appear to be upon a haphazardly constructed metal boat, whose seams are barely able to keep a hold of themselves in the crashing waves. However, that does not let us understand what exactly is causing the waves in the first place. If we were to rewind time, we'd find ourselves upon a calm sea under a peaceful sky with the only difference, being a small whirlpool that would be the precursor towards this uproar around the boat. Lightning flashes in the sky, with no clouds being near, and anyone actually manning the boat has either died towards the cause of the smashing tides in the first place, or are fighting amongst the flashes of lightning, all while trying not to become devoured, demolished, and utterly decimated by the beast roiling in the whirling waves. To better understand exactly what is happening here, there is one singular event that needs to be understood, that needs to be explained, and that is the arrival of a creature named Dave. Stepping back from current events and going towards this creature's first appearance in the world, we begin to hear the sound of water slowly dripping across rocky ground. The cavern is utterly silent except for this one constant, its cause feeding channels downwards, sloping towards cracks in the rubble along the floor from broken stalagmites and stalactites. And there, lying on top of something which had fallen over recently, judging from its cracks, is a person, the creature named Dave. His form is fast asleep, either from the impact or from an intoxication, judging from the smell upon its breath. A bright light suffuses into it for a second, giving life towards the pale skin, before it slowly dies down back to the comfortable black of the cave that it's within. Before this moment in time, Dave did not exist in the physical world. At least, not in the reality that he finds himself born into. We do not know whether or not his existence is simply a cosmic joke, or something that is being played out on purpose. All that we do know, is that one moment, the body was not in the cave, and simply formed in the next. The actual earliest time that we know Dave exists, is the interpolation of the memories of J-209, which we'll begin looking into shortly to gain context towards the coming narrative that is being written and hastily trying to keep itself written. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Warning: This story has several things which might turn its readers away. The first is that this story has shifting points of perspective. Don't worry about that previous sentence too much though, as the main character will always have a first person perspective associated with them. However, any other character from which we're viewing the story from will either be in third-person, as we are not necessarily in their shoes at the moment, or in first person, given that the narrator is an actual physical presence within the story. For the most part, chapters will be self-contained with their perspectives, so there will not be an abundance of switching perspectives within the same chapter. The most that an average reader would have to worry about is the fact that perspectives can switch between chapters. The second thing is that the main character is a bit on the 'special' side of things. He's not exactly mentally there most of the time, so there will be some times that his personality or his thoughts do not actively align with his actions. The third, and final thing of importance, is the fact that past the first couple of chapters, nothing has been planned in advance. There are arcs and plots that I want to do, want to implement, or have already been set into motion from our main character's introduction to the world, but the method that I use for my story writing and generating leads towards a bit more random chance being enabled. Basically...there's a lot of dice rolling behind the scenes. To not complicate the story further than its regular LitRPG elements, the rolls will not be publicly available. However, there will be knowledge within the author's notes on whether or not there were positive or negative critical rolls that had occurred within the chapter. You have been warned. Updates: Mondays & Fridays (Schedule permitting) Typical Chapter Length: (2,000-3,000)
