《The Challenge of Erros》Merciless

The two shifters waited for Deadeye to make a move against them, Lyrus barely had the strength to stand, whereas Scylla has mostly exhausted her weave, they were completely at the mercy of the man they came to kill.
“Now talk, how did you know to come here, this place and event isn’t advertised, so who is the leak?” Scylla looked anxiously at Lyrus, hoping for him to take the lead, but his eyes were locked with Bailey’s, he felt nothing but hatred for this man, for this moment. Bailey was not good at interrogations; his job was usually to capture or to kill people. He did not know any charm spells, not that he would use them. It did not seem that either of the shifters had any intent in revealing their source to Bailey, which annoyed him greatly, after all, he has let the both of them live so far. Bailey pointed his spear at them, swapping between the two, gauging their reactions. After figuring he would get the best reaction after stabbing Lyrus, he did just that. The shifter cried out in pain; Scylla begged for him to stop.
“You know what I want from you, who told you about this place, who told you I would be here?” Scylla debated whether to betray her contact, but between their safety now and their safety later, the choice seemed obvious.
“Cyprus of the Dracokin, he told us you would be here.” Lyrus shot Scylla a look of betrayal, but she held firm that this was the best course of action.
“Dracokin huh? Fuck this is complicated then…. You one of the teams?” Lyrus relaxed a little, since the information was out, there was no more reason to stress over it. “He is training us yes, but I don’t know what you mean by, one of the teams, he is just helping us regain our independence.” Bailey moved away from them, pacing around the area, thinking about the possible reasons this could have happened. “Those Dracokin know about every little thing that happens in this world, they could have told you where I was at any point, what’s different about right now that he would send you to me?” Lyrus valiantly shouted back at Bailey, “We weren’t ready to fight you before, he trained us, told us we were ready now!” Bailey looked back at the shifter with pity.

“You know goddam well that’s not true, and to especially fight me here was fucking stupid, he was sure to know that.” Bailey began to consider that perhaps this wasn’t about them, they are probably sacrifices for someone else, it was definitely not about him.
“The other shithead with you, the one who didn’t attack with the rest of you, where is he?” Lyrus was adamant about not giving up his friends, and Scylla felt it was best to follow his lead. “I’M NOT PLAYING WITH YOU ANYMORE, WHERE HIS THE OTHER ONE?” Still nothing from either of them. Bailey began walking towards them. “Out of concern for where you lot fit in the grand plan, I won’t kill you, at least not yet, but…” He grabs Lyrus and carries him away from Scylla, “…but if you don’t tell me, I will make sure he never sees again.” Bailey aims a sharpened stick towards Lyrus’ eyes.
“He’s still in the forest! He went to rescue to shifter you have captured!” Bailey rolls his eyes, disappointed that they think Rhea is a captive. “Describe him to me.” Scylla gives a brief description of Hector, after which Bailey releases Lyrus. He kneels down and glares into Scylla’s eyes, his boot resting on Lyrus’ head, “You best leave and forget about your friend, because if I find out he hurt my students, he won’t be leaving this forest alive.” Bailey leaves the two of them to search for Hector within the forest using divination magic, all the while collecting sharp branches to use against his foe. After a few minutes of searching, he finally finds his prey, thus beginning his hunt.
Hector was running whilst carrying Rhea on his shoulder, not realising the trap he was running into. Bailey imbued his javelin with his hatred and launched it into Hector’s stomach.

“That’s as far as you go.” Hector turns to see Bailey standing about fifteen feet from him, with several makeshift javelins lodged into the ground next to him.
“Deadeye? Your alive? That means that the others are…”
“You don’t need to think about the others, think about yourself, and what I’m gonna do to you.” Bailey grabs a javelin, chanting to the spirits of the forest to mark his target.
“You bloody shithead, coming to my forest, nabbing my student.” Hector readies his horn.
“I’m gonna skewer you for every fucking mistake you made today.” Hector imbues his horn with his strongest spell, and right as he blows a javelin is lodged into his throat. Hector dropped his horn and clutched his neck, struggling to breath. Bailey walks towards him carrying his javelins, he sees Rhea on the ground, unconscious. Hector started to panic, sensing his impending death approaching, listening to its steps as it crunches twigs beneath its boots. “That one was for coming here in the first fucking place.” Hector falls to his knees, tears streaming from his face, if he could talk, he would be pleading for his life, but all the comes out is a bloody gurgle. “Your next mistake was harming my student.” At the end of his sentence, Bailey stabs a javelin into Hector’s leg, and kicks him onto his back. Bailey couldn’t help but smirk through his rage as he watched the poor creature suffer before him. “This last one, was for being a stupid fucking bard.” With that, Bailey finishes Hector by stabbing into his head. Hector’s limp body lay beneath Bailey, who was soaking in his deed. Bailey cast magic to speak with the plants, telling them to bury Hector deep within the ground, leaving only his horn as a trophy.

Apocalypse at Mighty Max
God sold us out and the world ended... well, sort of. God may have sold us, or at least, our universe but our world didn't end. Instead, the new owners decided to play, and we all know what that means: Monsters, a System, Magic, Cultivation, and, of course, two new moons! Thanks for reading! I appreciate the interest. This is a rough draft and is intended to flesh out some ideas for a novel that I had. Maybe figure out if I want to do this author thing, you know? If you want immediately OP MCs, fights every chapter, a harem, this is not the story for you. Sorry about that. If you're willing to put up with a long growth curve, an MC that doesn't know what he's doing most of the time but is trying his best both to survive and to help his friends survive, you might enjoy the story. I'm just trying to have fun, maybe create something that in a second draft I can sell on the eBook market. If you're not into that, not into providing helpful comments for revisions, hey, that's cool, but do us both a favor and stop reading now. ** Oh, release schedule For the first weeks, I'll be releasing a chapter (1800-3000 words) a day. Following that, I'll be releasing whenever the mood strikes me. If I get some feedback, the mood might strike me more often, hint! hint!

Windwalker
Having subdued its surrounding enemies, the former Sulic Empire is faced with unrest brewing from within. Society is torn in two. The reigning mentalists constantly persecute the subjugated elementals under the pretence of curbing the explosive potential of their destructive powers. Meanwhile, schemes and political interests clash as different groups within the Governance military elite vie for control. And in the shadows, Sulic’s old enemies have been lying in wait a long time, looking for the first sign of weakness to make their move. Against this backdrop, two ordinary individuals fight to maintain stability from opposing sides: a low ranking telepathic recruit with nothing to his name but good intentions, and an unregistered elemental contractor with a murky past. Can they reconcile their differences and help steer Sulic away from tearing itself apart? Windwalker explores themes of societal struggle and self-discovery. Book One: Rising Wind Kal has trained to be a soldier his entire life. His days are simple, and his duties clear: enforce the rules, upkeep the peace, and most important — police the elementals. If they step out of line, the Governance system corrects it. But when Kal encounters a young boy whom he suspects might be an illegal earthborn, he can’t bring himself to report him. Despite his training and the advice of friends, he decides to help him onto what he believes is the right path. This choice lands him in more trouble than he bargained for, and he soon discovers that the veneer the Governance is built upon an ugly and crumbling foundation.
