《DEAD MAN'S JOURNEY》CHAPTER - 5

"Ha… Ha…"
I was panting as I looked around to see that I had returned from the dream.
It was weird.
The dream looked so real. Almost as if I was actually living there.
"Floating White Island"
I am on a gigantic island which is currently floating up in the sky far from land.
"Kabin Babur, the Emperor who built a palace here. But where is that palace?"
I looked around and could only see destruction and ruins.
Not a clue where the palace had gone.
But I think I heard the voices say some important things about this Wonder.
[Touch the Control Stone!]
[Take the ownership of this Wonder!]
[Shape the island as you want!]
Unlike before, the voices didn't warn me of anything but were pushing me to touch that blue crystal ball.
Or stone.
Whatever that is.
With that I can control the whole island and even create lives.
Of course they would just be clones and not actually real still, they wouldn't be any different from real.
But before that, I had another thing to confirm.
"Haa!"
*Boom*
A bolt of lighting shot out of my both palms as it hit the water surface.
A loud and bright explosion occurred.
"Damn! Woo Huuu!"
*Boom*
I shot multiple lighting bolts and blasted off some big pieces of concrete and broken roads.
Then I closed the thumbs, ring fingers and little fingers, as the index fingers and middle fingers were joined.
"Dadada!"
*Boom*
Short and small bolts of lighting escaped my two fingers as they hit the water.
"Hahah! Fuck! I feel like a gunman!"
I laughed as I played for a while with the lighting bullets.
I needed to test more of the powers, but I was getting cold as I was half naked.
I hurried and climbed back up to the top. Picking a corner, I lit a fire to warm myself.
Wearing my clothes which were almost getting ripped and torn, I checked myself.
It felt a lot tight as the clothes seemed small.
Now that I see it, I feel a lot taller and stronger. Did I just undergo another change?
First a human. Then an undead and now what? A Zombie?
Shaking my head, I looked at my body. Some veins were visible directly without even putting pressure.
I really never consume steroids, so why? It's scary!
I took off the black gloves and stood up. I did a little jump and nothing was different.

But when I put more strength on my legs to jump, I could have the energy running through my veins.
"Woo!"
I jumped so high that I could almost reach the roof of one house directly.
The height was almost triple my own.
"Like a cat!"
I held back the laughter and picked the gloves from the ground.
"One… Two!"
I sprinted on the road and found myself at an incredible speed.
Almost knocked myself out when I tried to stop in the middle of the run.
"I also feel more flexibility!"
I could bend myself as my hands touched my toes and my head at my knees.
I also did a full split, something I never thought I could do even after all those futile exercises.
"Calm down… Oh my!"
I bursted into tears as I looked around and saw no one seeing me.
'Damn it!'
I wore the black gloves and shook my body for a while to loosen the joints.
"Think about what you want to create! Ice!"
I held out my left palm and a white light started forming before it.
Soon I could feel the cold sensation. A block of ice was created which floated in the air.
I did my best and changed it into the shape of a normal spear with a long handle.
As I gripped the ice spear, the excitement in me increased even more.
I then held the ice spear with my right hand and threw it towards a house.
*Boom*
The ice spear hit the wall of the house and exploded into countless fragments.
The thing was that it wasn't over. The place where the ice spear hit slowly formed ice.
"..."
My mouth shut as I stared with trembling hands. Was it what I just did?
I brought my hand to wipe my forehead off the imaginary sweats as I got startled.
"The hell! I got scared of myself and the glove!"
These two gloves were really dangerous if a crazy person managed to find them.
"I must be careful or I will ultimately kill myself with my own hands."
I still had my heart as I heard the heartbeat in me.
I am not dead anymore!
I think…
Anyways, who said a Dead Man can't have a normal heart which beats.
* * *
It's been two days since I have gotten my hands on this pair of magical black gloves.
Even without it, I can now fight the Big-Foot head on because I am stronger.

And I was exactly doing that.
*Bam*
I punched the monster on his face as it retreated back and made some distance between us.
"Come on!"
I shouted at it. The monster or Big-Foot held his face which was bloody.
"Guuuaahh!"
It growled and rushed at me with his claws open. I rolled to my side and stood up again.
"Use your brain, idiot!"
I mocked the monster for his lack of brain but what could it do about that.
One thing to note was if I wore the black gloves and a monster or animal saw me.
They would either run or keep at least a hundred meter distance from me.
"Guuahh!"
I caught his hands as we pushed each other and showed our strength.
"Haa!"
I slammed my forehead on his nose as more blood dripped down immediately.
"Guuuah!"
It groaned in anguish while trying to escape my grip but just couldn't.
"Take this!"
I kicked it on its chest with my right knee. The monster let out a cry of pain.
I threw the monster and slammed its head on the concrete road.
*Bam*
The held its head and continued to slam on the road as blood splashed around.
The monster had his skull cracked and some transparent liquid flowed out together with red blood.
It stopped moving but its body still twitched a little until it died.
"Fuu…"
I released some air and calmed my mind. My body was hot at the moment.
*Crack*
I cracked my knuckles and neck. It should be about time to touch the Control Stone.
I ate the leftover meat from an animal which I did recognize but forgot the name.
It was a very big rat-like animal.
Why need to remember the name when they will just end up in your stomach and go out through your ass.
I walked towards the crater and climbed down the road which had fallen in.
"Haa… I can do it!"
*Splash*
I jumped in the water and swam towards the altar where the Control Stone was.
When I came down, I fixed my legs on the cracks of the altar to look like I was standing.
My hairs floated in the water as I slowly held the Control Stone.
I had already worn the black gloves so I didn't feel any danger like the first time.
Rumble!
When I touched the Control Stone, everything started shaking.
Bright white light engulfed me in it as I saw countless images pass by.
They were all of the Emperor in his days of building the white palace all by himself.
Sometimes he would have blood flowing from hands yet he didn't stop.
Even if a storm came he wouldn't stop.
Even if it was a drought he didn't stop.
Even if the wind was threatening he wouldn't stop.
The palace, after it was completed, was just too majestic and grand.
It could be said that it was built with blood and sweat.
And then I saw the images of the Emperor and his wife laughing together.
A drop of tear rolled down my eye.
I was shocked by their love story. It was sad that the wife had got a terrible disease.
Soul Lost.
There can never be a cure to this disease as from what I got in my head.
All that information said that only God can cure it. But nobody has seen a God.
God has never walked on Earth. Still people believe him.
But I don't believe in God. It's true. Unless I see a God, I won't worship him.
The images came to a stop as I saw the Emperor say his last words on the steps of the palace.
When I came back to my senses, I was seeing many different things.
There weren't any collapsed buildings underwater. Not even a single piece of rock.
Nor any fishes or living creatures.
There was a space with four walls as the water was still there. I don't know how I am still holding my breath.
"I-I can breathe!"
Suddenly I realized that I could breathe underwater.
I looked around and saw a staircase which wasn't there when I came down.
I left the Control Stone and swam up. When my head was out of the water, I saw that the stairs led to a door.
I swam further towards the stairs.
*Step*
I stepped on the stairs and walked out of the water with my wet body.
What welcomed me was a huge hall in white. The decorations were of crystals and looked like a tree.
There was a small structure in the middle made of marbles like the walls.
*Splash*
When I walked over, I stopped and looked down. There was water but only a few centimeters deep.
I remember it, this hall!
It was where the Emperor buried his wife!
And all this water was his tears of sadness!
