《DEAD MAN'S JOURNEY》CHAPTER - 9

I touched the Control Stone and stared at the two Noble bodies.
A male and a female.
Ram and Sita.
I held the two glass test tubes filled with Adam's and Eve's blood.
I have to be careful.
Adam's blood floated and entered in the heart of Ram as it started beating.
Then Eve's blood went into Sita's heart.
I still had lots of blood left as only two drops were used so far.
I created some clothes and shoes in white color, and let them wear it.
I have to do something about the memories. I can't always directly select from my brain.
It's too time and energy consuming.
Wait!
'How about I save them and just copy-paste those memories to the new creations?'
Seems good.
I was quite enlightened by my own intelligence.
And so, it took a few hours to take the necessary knowledge from my brain.
A box appeared before me which contained all those learning and writing memories.
*Boom*
I let them have the second copy while the first copy floated near me.
As for the original, it's obviously in my head.
Now that I can feel the energy in my surroundings, it was the same here in the control room.
No, it was even more here.
This room which was half filled with water had so much concentrated energy which now made me suffocate!
It was a lie.
I can breathe, just kidding.
'I am gonna use it!'
I clenched my fists and pulled the surrounding energy towards me.
Rumble!
Then I touched the Control Stone which made the entire Palace go shaking.
I entered the third perspective mode, and looked at the Palace from above.
It was night time, still I could see everything clearly like it was day.
"Fuu!..."
The marble walls that protected the Palace expanded.
"Haa!"
Then I let a terrifying power wipe the entire ruined city clean from any dirt.
"I can make it!"
Two more layers of circular walls rose from the ground.
The bigger one for the protection of the area which will be a new city.
And the smaller one will be the district for the Nobles and High Officials to live.
Rumble!
The Palace shook even more this time as I made it higher in the sky.
The ground level increased where the Palace was, followed by the area for the Nobles and High Officials.

It has now become a three layer zone.
Few buildings were created by me for the Nobles to stay in their area.
*Bam*
I fell to my knees, my energy drained completely as I barely managed to keep myself awake.
I held the scepter and slowly got up on my feets.
The energy concentration in the room had decreased drastically.
*Step*
Each step felt extremely heavy to me. I walked out of the control room and headed to the front hall.
*Bam*
I hit the scepter on the cold marble floor. Adam and Eve had now accepted it as a summon call.
"My King!"
They saw the two figures in white halos floating behind the King but did ask.
Bowing their heads, they waited for the King to give further orders.
"They are Nobles. I have made a house for them outside the Palace walls. Guide them and teach the necessary things. Remember, they are not to enter the Palace without my permission!"
My voice was deep and shaking as I could feel the fatigue in it.
I waved my left hand as the two Nobles landed on the floor and opened their eyes.
"Call me King! Follow them!"
With that said, I immediately hurried towards my bedroom.
I didn't know when I might pass out from exhaustion so I must haste.
* * *
At the hall, Adam and Eve looked at the new people or Nobles.
"Come on, I will show you the way to your house."
Even though he himself didn't know the changes which took place a few moments ago, he was confident.
"Yes!"
Ram and Sita already understood that the two in front of them were powerful and had arrived before them.
"He is Adam and I am Eve. What's yours?"
Eve walked beside Adam and turned to see the two Nobles.
"King didn't name us directly but I think he implanted the names in our mind. I am Ram."
"I am Sita."
Eve nodded her head and didn't take it further. When they exited the Palace, all the four were surprised.
Adam and Eve had already seen the tall marble walls and the ruined city.
But now they saw the marble walls standing even higher and a huge gate of gold was in the middle.
Ram and Sita were seeing everything for the first time so they were stunned and unable to utter a word.

*Clank*
The huge gate made of pure shining gold opened with just a single touch.
'Wow!'
The four stared at the ground below, long stairs went down towards the second level.
The Palace being on first level, the area where the Nobles would live is at second level.
The Third was for the lower ranking officials and commoners.
Huge stone walls protected the plains, Ram and Sita were just unable to move.
Thankfully Adam and Eve managed to get back to reality before them.
"Let's go."
Adam waved his hand at Ram and Sita, bringing them back to their senses.
"Yes!"
They were excited to explore the area.
Adam and Eve maintained their superior aura even though they were quite the same.
Walking down the stairs, they admired the beauty of the landscape.
The city was yet to be built and that area was only plains, that didn't affect the image.
The stairs that lead them from the Palace to the second level were in a zigzag arrangement.
On the sides were many small trees and plants which had light green leaves.
The stairs were made of organized stones of rectangular shape.
The facing side of the stairs with soil and grasses had a small water flowing canal.
It was the time of morning as the sun had newly set from the mountains.
There was still some light layer of fog around the plains and second level.
Eve looked at the site with her eyes reflecting almost everything.
'Can this be heaven?'
This thought was not only in her mind, the others also had the same thought.
It took a few minutes for the group to reach the second level as they came slowly.
Another huge gate made of some kind of special wood welcomed them.
This one had no reiling doors as the gate was wide open.
"It's so beautiful!"
Sita couldn't help but praise the designs of the houses made for the Nobles.
There were about seven houses in total for now and the rest of the area was empty.
All these seven houses had different designs.
But they all were from Birkang's old world like the one at the far left which was a traditional Japanese house.
Made of wood and clothes, not a single cement was used for its making.
The one that Ram and Sita chose was a Bungalow near a clean and clear Lake with lots of fishes.
Bungalow, single-storied house with a sloping roof, usually small and often surrounded by a veranda.
"You can see the house while we bring some food."
Adam said as he looked at Ram. The latter nodded his head and headed inside with Sita.
"Is it the same as us? They also seemed to have a special bond."
Adam looked at their back and muttered slowly. But then he saw the red face of Eve who turned around and started walking back to the Palace.
With his mouth wide open, he stood frozen for a while until he realized.
"Ah! Idiot!"
He facepalmed himself and hurriedly followed behind Eve without saying anything.
'I am so stupid! Why did I have to say that!'
Adam felt the atmosphere between him and Eve turn awkward.
As he was following behind Eve, Adam couldn't see what face Eve made.
'I can't turn back! I can't turn back!'
Meanwhile, Eve with her face red continued to warn herself inwardly.
Although she left immediately after what Adam muttered, Eve also felt the same.
It's like something was trying to bring them together no matter what.
What was it?
Of course Adam and Eve didn't know that the blood flowing in them once belonged to a certain person.
He is…
Birkang!
* * *
Palace___
Birkang was sleeping deeply while the energy in the surroundings started boiling.
His body lightly shone with a white halo.
The energy which boiled cooled down and entered his body through multiple areas.
Those were his exposed body parts.
Face, hairs, arms, and legs.
As the energy in the surroundings near Birkang started decreasing.
The energy outside the Palace was forcefully sucked in.
It's as if the Palace had come to life and was breathing in the energy.
The energy concentration in the control room also recovered with time.
Birkang had a dream where he sat on a fluffy white cloud with fog surrounding him.
His body had some pain but with time it slowly went away as he felt refreshed soon.
His mind, crystal clear with not a single thought.
Hours went by with him sleeping.
And then, six hours later.
His eyes opened.

Luck And Chronomancy
Time Magic is the best magic as everyone knows, although there are lots of unique Talents in the world. Most people only remember Haste because it is hard to get to higher Phases of Chronomancy. That is still enough to make the Talent iconic. A lucky enough Aleatory Talent can position you for greatness or leave you languishing in obscurity. The only true equality in the world is when that glowing message pops up at 8 years old. Even if it doesn't activate until you are an adult at 16 you still know. Sure you can find a new dungeon spawn and get another chance at a rare Talent, even this one, but you have to already be ready to delve into the *Far Wilds*, which is far easier with wealth or family power. This is the story of where my good fortune took me and the difference it made, even among a party of 7 others including an Arcanist. It is a journey of magic and monsters but also math, which some think is actually worse. Luckily I was born with Intelligence and Focus as my personal traits, and my parents were scholars. Of course Chronomancy can also be a frontline combat talent. Versitility well beyond other Elder Talents like Gravity, Abstraction, or Arcana. Might could have worked for me, too. I also met a runaway princess. All the best adventures have a princess. She hated being a noble and we didn't get married but it still counts. Besides she really filled out our front line. All that Leadership training came in handy. I still don't know where she's from. Who cares? How well Haste goes with giant hammers is what's important. I never learned much about anyone in the party, except the one I grew up with. I'm not a people person. I just wanted to optimize dungeon clearing time. *******Story Details******* No romance, politics, or traumatizing content, slice of life, or even dialogue. 1st person narration, like a guide/adventure log. 2000-7000 words a day, maybe 40-60% rpgish combat log with some reasoning on combat decisions, with the rest character Talent discussion and progression stuff. 8 person party with a decent variety in roles. Party members usually have 2 primary functions. Told from the support/control Chronomancer's perspective. Each party member will have 6 Basic/Background Traits, then 3 actual Talents with abilities. Capstone from their Educational Institution, Arbritrary as a gift from the temples, and Aleatory which is decided at birth, revealed at 8, and activated after adulthood at 16. Aleatory Traits ignore requirements and are random why is why they are so important. They'll gain new Talents from finding Dungeons to consume in the *Wilds*. Mature dungeons in cities can provide *Challenges* to raise the Phase of a Talent, up to 3 times from 1 to 4. Each character will get to roughly 8 non-Trait Talents. Attributes come exclusive from Talents, are required by Talents, and provide various effects as well. I designed about 220 Talents with abilities, 4 in each of 4 phases. "Traits" are just Attribute stuff. I'm not sure how many will be detailed in the story, more than 100 for sure. I used Talents because I want to be free of the legacy of tabletop. Half those rules are just because of the limitations inherent in a pre-computer ttrpg. This story mostly uses combat Talents, although like 1/3 of the 220 are for crafting and other society and economy stuff. If you really wanted to be a Thief you might take Intuition, Awarness, and Might for Basic Traits and Deftness, Manipulation, and Trickery for Family/Education. Then you'd pick Acrobatics, and Climbing for Educational Capstone and Arbitrary traits. You Aleatory Trait might be Shadow(Light/Dark) Magic, Umbramancy. A Bard might swap Dexterity for Charisma, Music for Acrobatics, and have gotten Illusion(Shadow/Sound(Air/Force)) for their Aleatory Trait.
