"Welcome to Square One, a scan on your retina has determined that you are not a registered user of Square One. Would you like to register" A sweet female voice could be heard saying these words.

Ray was mesmerized from hearing the sweet voice of a woman, Ray never had any experience with girls; he had female friends, but still, anyone would be mesmerized from the sweet voice.

"Yes please" Ray answered after he snapped out of his daze.

"Please wait one moment while our system scans your brain for bonus traits."

In Square One, you can gain additional bonus stats and attributes depending on your real life experience. An average person would have a starting stat of 10 on everything.

"We have finished scanning your brain. Please choose a race."

"What are the races available?" Ray asked

"There are currently 5 available races available, which are; Human, Elf, Dwarf, Undead, and Demi Human. Available races will be unlocked if certain requirements are met for example, A rank quest and above have some chances to unlock additional races. Or in game events that the "AI" will throw at players."

The unique thing about Square One is that there are no bonus stats for choosing a certain race, this makes the playing field even. This also allows players to choose a race that they are most comfortable with without loosing and bonuses.

"Can I please have an image on what I would look like for each of the races?"

5 realistic dolls then appeared out of the blue. All of the dolls closely resembled Ray. He thought for a good 5 minutes before deciding on what race he would play.

'It would be weird seeing myself not being human' Ray thought

"Human please" Ray finally said

4 of the 5 dolls vanished, leaving only one doll that was a exact replica of Ray.

"You can alter your appearance on however you see fit. You cannot however change your gender."

"I will keep my current appearance, however can you please add a little bit of length of my hair, and make it slicked back please, and make it look natural if possible." Ray had to have a clean shaved head when he joined the army, so he missed his old hairstyle. Of course he needed a gel of some sort to keep it slicked back, however since this was a game, it was possible to make it look like a natural slicked back hair.

"Very well" the sweet calm voice said

"Is your decision final? You cannot change your appearance once you finalize. You can temporarily change your appearance in game through shape shifting magic or by drinking a special potion. There are barbers on almost all towns and cities, so you can change your hair there."

"Yes, finalize appearance." Ray excitedly said, he was eager to play Square One.

"Please select a starting kingdom"

In Square One, If you are a new player, once you select a kingdom, you will be automatically sent to the kingdoms "Beginner Training Grounds" where depending on your actions would set your class. So if you wanted to be a warrior type class, you do things related to being a warrior. etc... Of course you can change your class later on through job advancements and through special quests that might give unique classes.

There are 4 starting kingdoms, however there are other kingdoms available to visit and represent when you travel around the world. The starting kingdoms are Chronos, Radun, Isris, and Siga.

Ray had decided to start at the Kingdom Chronos because it was surrounded by the other 3 starting kingdoms, he had thought that this mean that there would be war from ever corner of Chronos. And Ray was not wrong. War was always present at Chronos.

"Chronos please" Ray said

"Please choose a name for your avatar, due to the amount of people playing Square One, Repeat names are available."

Due to having 100 million players playing Square One when it came out, and now almost 150 million and still rising. Repeat names were available, they were just given a different serial code to their name. This is to prevent people from having people numbers on their names, and special characters were not allowed. You can still however choose to add numbers to your name, but it would look ridiculous.

"Scout" Ray chose the name Scout because when he was in the army, that was his nickname. During live drill practices, Ray would be the one to advance and scope out the area without being seen or heard.

"Very well, Welcome to Square One, where you start from the very building on equal footing as everyone else that had started a new life. Good luck and have fun." The sweet voice said as her last words slowly faded away.

"Thank you very much" Scout said when everything around him suddenly turned white, and he could not feel anything beneath him, because he had started to fall into a new life and a new world.

Well thats chapter one, pretty much character creation and some explanation on Square one, if there are any suggestions or concerns pls post it on the comments and ill look into it. Also if there are grammar mistakes, please tell me and ill try to change it

The intro was longer than I expected, I was hoping on Scout being able to actually play the game in this chapter, but my brain is fried today.
