After waking up and doing his morning routine, Ray logged back on into Square One.
Scout immediately walked towards the leather working shop, more than a day had passed and his new armor should be ready. He entered the shop and approached the shop keeper.
"Ah young man, your armor is ready."
"I see, thank you"
The shop keeper handed over Scouts new armor.

"WOW! These things are great!" Scout couldn't help it but be amazed
"Heh, Of course, I'm a master blacksmith of course"
"Wait your a blacksmith?" Scout asked
"Yeah, Im just doing armorsmithing for fun, I can make weapons if need it be, Of course worry not, my leather working skills are top notch too."
"Yeah, judging by these armor that you made, I can tell. By the way, can I ask for your name? So that ill know who to look for if i need new armors." Scout said.
"Yeah of course, my name is Cain." As Cain was saying these words he reached out his hand offering a shake.
"My name is Scout" Scout reached out his hand and accepted his handshake.

"Well, if you need weapons, I can make them for you." Cain said
"I don't need new weapons" Scout asked with a smile on his face.
"Ohohoho why is that?"
Scout showed his weapons to Cain
"GOD DAMN! Those weapons are amazing!"
"I know, don't worry though, I will be coming to you for armors . . . . Oh by the way, please don't tell anyone about my weapons"
"Heh, your secret is safe with me."
"So why are you out here, when you could be at the capital making weapons for adventurers?" Scout asked
"Too many blacksmiths at the capital, not enough work for everyone, so I decided to move to a city like this"
"So you're looking for work?" Scout asked
"Yeah, something like that" Cain replied
"I might just have the thing for you, give me a minute"
Cain was confused.
Scout then opened the guild channel and called a guild officer, Hiro.
"Hello how may I help you? Hiro asked
"Sir, this is Scout 1 wing C class, I found a NPC blacksmith that needs work."
"I see, whats special about him? We have some blacksmiths already at HQ."
"He came from the capital, also he is a master blacksmith and apparently he can create armors too, he made me a decent set."
"That is interesting! Can you bring him to HQ right away?" Hiro asked once more
"I cannot at the moment, I have some business that I need to take care of."
"I see, I will send some people then, where are you?"
"That is a great idea sir, Im at Hoelbrak City"
"Good its not that far away, Ill send some C class to pick him up accompanied by a B class."
"Okay sir, thank you, ill inform the blacksmith of the situation."
Scout ended the call and faced towards the blacksmith.

"Sorry about that, you said you were looking for work right?" Scout asked
"Yeah something like that."
"Well, I'm in guild called free wing mercenaries, were slowly growing and we would like for you to join us."
"That would be great, I should be able to make many wares there."
"Yes you will, A group of my guild mates will be coming over later in the day to escort you back to HQ."
"How will I know who you guild mates are?" Cain asked
Scout lifted up his sleeve and showed Cain his guild mark
"They will have a similar mark as me, and once you get to HQ, you will have one as well"
"Okay, thank you very much."
"No, thank you, well I have to go now, ill see you in HQ soon." Scout said and left.
Scout walked over to the quest board, even though he already reached the requirements for the guild, he still wanted a little bit more in order to help out the guild better.
Since Hoelbrak is a city, there are more quests available, and the crime rate is higher too. Since the crime rate is high, there are a lot of bounties and city protecting quests.
Scout had 4 days left before the guild meeting, so he had 2 more days to spend in Hoelbrak before he leaves to go back to HQ.
After looking and looking, Scout found the perfect quest.
Protect Hoelbrak City from criminals
Rewards: 1g per night and 10 silver per criminal stopped
This was a perfect opportunity for Scout to raise his skills and level up. Criminals were either NPC's or Players. Scout then started patrolling the city from the rooftops where he would have a good view of things. He ran near alley ways where more crime's are bound to happen, as he was patrolling he had found his first victim. It was a player trying to rob another player. There was a clear level difference between the two.
"HAND OVER YOUR MONEY!"
"Please I don't have much"
"I DONT CARE, GIVE THEM TO ME OR YOU WILL DIE HERE."
"Okay okay, please don't kill me"
"hehehehe thats a good dog, NOW DIE!"
The robber was about to swing his sword, but before he could swing his sword, Scout had already planted a dagger behind the guy's back. The robber fell over leaving only a dead body behind. Scout bent over and picked up the bag containing the money.
"Please don't kill me, you can keep the money" the guy begged for mercy.
Scout just threw the money towards the guy without saying a word and just shadow stepped back up to the roofs.
"Quest Information"

Number of Criminals Stopped: 1
Scout proceeded to patrol more, sticking close to the alleys. After a few more minutes of patrolling, Scout found another set of victims, 2 robbers trying to break in a store through the back door.
Scout was squatting up on the roof and asked the two robbers.
"So what you guys doing?"
"What?! Who?! Where are you?!" one of the guys asked
"Im up here idiots" Scout retorted.
"What the hell are you doing here?!"
"I could ask you the same thing" Scout wittingly replied
"Come down here and ill tell you" The guys said with a pretty evil grin
"Oh yeah, you want me to come down there so that you could kill me? Oh I will come down alright, but you better be prepared."
"We aint scared of you, theres 2 of us!"
"Oh we will see about that" Scout said
Scout immediately disappeared from their sight. They were shocked, but before they could even react, Scout had already planted his daggers behind their backs.
"Heh, this isn't so bad" Scout said while moving on to find more victims

Author's note: Beast is a story that I wrote a long, long time ago. Some of you might have read it then, back when it was posted on reddit over at r/HFY. It was my first webfiction and made in the spirit of that subreddit's "genre" of humanity being awesome. But, it is also a story that has bothered me a little bit. Just like most new writers tend to do, I made mistakes and errors that feel painful to reread. A Space Opera will be a Space Opera, but I had prose that makes present-me cringe. Still, at the same time, the story is still very much a tale I've never given up on. It was my first adventure into fiction: Beast was a crazy adventure with bodysnatching aliens, galactic war, threats from across the universe... Posting this story here is a way to try and redeem myself a bit. I won't call it a complete rewrite, because it's not, but I have wanted to go through and correct some of the major issues Beast has for a long time and put it somewhere more accessible to read (instead of as posts/comments on reddit) and I figure that now is as good a time as any. Additional corrections you might notice are welcome.

As such many terms and characters, I use may be unknown. But don't worry I will do my best so that everyone can follow. NOTE 2: I AM currently writing another fanfic called THE TRIALS: PATH TOWARD GODHOOD. Try it. The mc is different in personality but I hope you'll like it nonetheless.

Cinder Souls II
Dark Souls is known as one of the hardest game series to have ever existed and with the third installment of Dark Souls, being Dark Souls 3, the makers of the game decided to not make another. With the licensing of the game being put into limbo, a game company called Virtual World decided to buy the right to make another game in the series, this game was called Cinder Souls. Something was different about this game compared to the rest of the series and that was it is on the World Gear, a device that put your consciousness inside of the game and gave you complete control of your character's body. This game exploded and sold over 5 million copies in the first week since it had something other games didn't. Freedom. You could do 18+ actions, take over kingdoms, destroy guild bases entirely, and even rob NPCs. Of course there are laws in certain areas that prohibited certain actions but that all depended on what guild was in control of the land you are at. There are 4 continents with there being several countries dividing each continent into different sections and each having their own difficulties. The strongest continent of them all is Land of the Gods, which only the most legendary of players can enter and become apart of. It is a small island which only has 10 inhabitants but these 10 people could easily take over any other continent on the planet but decide to lay dormant on the island, waiting for something strong to spice up the game. Each of these 10 players is considered a God in the game and even have their own following base. Each God had major influence over the millions of other players in the game but that was all in the past. Now it is time for an update, a completely new world with new enemies and new beginnings for all and that update is coming soon. Its supposed to arrive in one day in fact. This update would have new quests and new adventures and the game title will be changed to Cinder Souls II, whether you kept your character or not is unknown but what was known was that the real world was excited for this. Since it was an update, you didn't have to repurchase the game so old players began to dust off their old copies and prepare for the copious amounts of fun in store for them. This story follows one of the best players to have ever graced the game, Frew, the God of Miracles, and his new adventures but it is not as expected.
