《Journey On Pokemon Island》Chapter 7: Taming Silcoon

The two split apart and went to search the nearby areas.
Unfortunately, the environment at the foot of the volcano is not as suitable for plant growth as in the rainforest.
The two can only try their best to find it.
"This is the tamato berry. I just need to find a bit more until I can make a Pokemon food."
Edward did not miss any opportunity and packed the fruits one by one.
"Ah~"
Just after finding a few fruit trees, the voice of Rosa came from the next tree.
Rosa did not dare to cry out for help on the island for fear of attracting other beasts.
She only made a small voice and looked back at Edward with a helpless expression.
"Edward, there is a beast here."
Rosa's voice trembled a little. Although she saw many pictures about beasts on the internet, but seeing it in person is a whole different level.
Edward quickly climbed up the tree over Rosa and checked.
"It looks like some kind of pupa. See? It doesn't seem to move."
Seeing Edward coming over, she felt a lot more ease.
Edward looked at the giant cocoon wrapped in silk thread hanging on the branch of the tree.
It is more than half a meter tall, and the whole body is covered in white silk, leaving only two small holes. A pair of red eyes can be seen through the holes, but they are partially hidden by a rough fringe of silk.
"Hey. There isn't any record of this beast."
Rosa was a little excited, and the staff in charge of the live stream for the two suddenly came to their senses.
Unexpectedly, they discovered a new kind of beast not long after the show started!
"Huh? I got the notification that I have been rewarded with 200,000 credits."

Rosa murmured, feeling very surprised.
"It's a cocoon that doesn't look aggressive."
Others don't know, but Edward knows!
He recognized at a glance that this Pokemon was Silcoon.
An evolution of Wurmple, Silcoon would eventually evolve to Beautifly.
Edward pondered in his heart. This is obviously an excellent opportunity to tame this Pokemon.
Silcoon moves very slowly. It can only rely on its eyes to observe the surroundings. Furthermore, the only moves it can use at this stage are hardening.
"Can it really not move?"
After that, she released a sigh of relief.
"Of course."
Edward was much more courageous, stretched out his fingers, and touched the shell.
Boing.
Boing.
The soft silk thread felt very comfortable to the touch.
"Ah...this..."
Seeing him boldly touching the beast, Rosa was even more surprised.
The audience also went wild.
[Bullshit! He dared to touch it.]
[My man is so smooth.]
[It seems that not all beasts are dangerous.]
[This cocoon is too big. I believe it can transform into a one-meter tall butterfly.]
...
The audience is also witnessing the miraculous moment.
"Look, its silk thread seems to have hardened a lot."
He was also touching a real Pokemon for the first time. After confirming that there would be no problem, he tapped the carapace with his fingers.
Silcoon has inadvertently used the hardening skill, and the originally soft silk thread has become extremely hard.
Clang!
Clang!
The sound of a piece of metal ringing can be heard after Edward knocks on the shell once more.
Suddenly, a line of words appeared on his hand watch.
"Interacting with the beast, rewarding 500,000 credits!"
Edward couldn't help but laugh and, at the same time, made up his mind to tame this Pokemon.
"Although the combat power Beautifly is average, it is most suitable for me to conquer now."
This is the safest way, and Silcoon has no combat power, so it is extremely easy to conquer.
"Only a fool will waste this opportunity"
Edward proceeds to pick the Pokemon and hold it in his arms.

Saga of the Jewels VOLUME ONE COMPLETE
Prefer to listen to rather than read Saga of the Jewels? I'm also releasing it as a free audibook serial podcast on iTunes here! Epic YA JRPG-influenced GameLit progression ensemble-cast steampunk romance fantasy! When Ryn’s hometown is destroyed, will he be able to gather together the twelve Primeval Jewels in order to defeat the evil Emperor and save the world of Mid? A fan novelization of an amazing Final Fantasy game that doesn’t actually exist, that currently releases at least one chapter a month. Epic in that this will be very long. “It’s a marathon, not a sprint!” (-Kandaj) YA in that this should be enjoyable to~13-year-olds and upwards. Some gore, some swearing, some sex, but nothing more than PG-13. JRPG-influenced / GameLit in that it uses lots of JRPG tropes, particularly from Final Fantasy. I’ve read a lot of fan Final Fantasy novelisations and you can basically think of this as a fan novelisation of its own Final Fantasy game that doesn’t actually exist as a game... Progression in that the characters level up over time (though not with visible litrpg stat boxes). They grow in ability through training and experience, gain new skills, individually and as a party (think Chrono Trigger) and spend time discussing and stratgeising about how to defeat their opponents. Main protagonist from book three would definitely be able to defeat himself from book one! Ensemble-cast because we've got quite the roster of misfits here. The first volume is all from the main protagonist's POV, but it starts dancing between his and different POVs thereafter. Steampunk in that we’ve also got airships, steam trains, pistols and ambiguous ‘amber bars’ that function a bit like artificial lights… Romance in that there is lots of shipping here, a few love triangles, and you may be kept guessing as to who will actually end up together... Fantasy in that we’re in a vaguely pre-modern setting. We’ve got swords, magic, dragons, dungeons, monsters, all that good stuff. * "This story captures that Final Fantasy quality perfectly. Kiddy but also grim. The characters are great... Severely underrated and needs more favorites/follows. I look forward to seeing how this story will unfold." -Gilgamesh9999 "Starting at the end and jumping backwards is not a writing style seen every day. I'll admit, I was a bit skeptical at first, but you've executed a fairly crazy idea very skillfully so far. Overall, a strong start to what could be a very strong story." -RandomFF.netUser "You definitely have my interest piqued. It'll be interesting to see where the story goes... It definitely has an 'old school Final Fantasy' type feel to it, which I appreciate...Good job! I am glad you are going into more details about the story you laid out in the prologue...of course the big burning question is 'You know they lose in the the first chapter, so how will they end up winning?' That of course, is the story you're writing...so we'll see how it goes! #Following." -KyleQuicksilver (quotes are from reviews on other sites) * If you enjoy it, don’t forget to boost Saga of the Jewels on topwebfiction.com!
