After briefly napping, Jacob enters the dealership and transfers everything useful he can find to the trunk of a car in the lot. In the center console, Jacob drops the keys for all the cars in the lot. He plans to sell them once at The Sanctuary, not let random raiders and scavengers take them. Once he has everything packed, Jacob wakes Ryan.
"It's time to go," Jacob says, and Ryan enters the passenger seat after placing his spear and sword in the back seat.
The drive to The Sanctuary is short, but the zombie presence as noticeably increased. Instead of a zombie every twenty feet, zombies are every five feet with a brute spaced between every hundred zombies. Ignoring these, Jacob drives past them all. His car is not meant for driving on rough terrain, but it can handle the occasional zombie or two.
On 4th street, the carnage is unbelievable. Scavenger rats cleaned the areas near the gates of Jacob's lot, but here it looks like someone used a shovel to pile the pieces of zombie bodies against the glass windows of buildings. Crude barriers made from office desks, filing cabinets, and various other devices line the pavement, but were clearly ineffective at keeping out the waves of zombies.
Since the barriers block their way, Ryan and Jacob have to leave the car and advance on foot. Ryan takes his sword and spear with him, but Jacob leaves the keys in the center console. Further inside the gore covered section of road, one building is mostly clear of blood on its windows. From a set of glass doors, a man steps out.
"Hey, welcome to The Sanctuary," The man says with a gloomy face. His clothes are bloody and his left arm is heavily bandaged.
"I brought supplies with me, in my car," Jacob says, pointing back to the car.

"Oh, great," The man says, and ducks back inside the building. A few seconds later, eight more men come walking out with the first man.
Jacob unlocks the car and pops the trunk. While the men walk past, Ryan can see that over half of them have handguns on their waist.
"The supplies are in the trunk and the back seat," Jacob says, and stays with Ryan and the first man at the door.
"Well, follow me inside," The man says, and walks through the glass door. "I'm Terry, by the way."
"Jacob," Jacob says.
"Ryan," Ryan says.
Inside the building, the back of the room is dedicated to two counters with a small hallway between them. In the front of the room, there are many rows of seats. In the hallway, there are three elevators on each side, and a stairway on the far end. Light from the front windows helps illuminate the room, but the emergency lighting makes up for the lack of regular lights.
"David is on the second floor. He'll have to meet you before anything else," Terry says, and leads them to the stairs in the back.
