《In the Field of War》Rage and Grief

3 months ago, Near the Roschatch River, Outskirts of Dundee.
A man with short dark brown hair and a normal body. He was wearing a leather tunic and brown leather boots. He walked and sat down near a tree trunk of a tree in the forest. Looking upon a farm with a child, a girl, is playing and a woman sitting down on a chair in a wooden building. The woman was looking at the child, which was her daughter. The woman was slim and had dark hair as well as the child. She had a height of 5'7 and the child had a height of 4 ft. Probably 5 to 7 years old. The man was just looking at both of them, slightly smiling and shedding a single tear. He was not noticed by the two.
'I wish I could have been better' the man thought, now leaving and going to the forest, "I wish I could have been better...for the both of you" he looked back one last time before leaving. He then remembered all the bad times. The drinking, the robbing, the killing, he wished he could have stopped all of those when they started.
--------------------------- (June 20, 107 F.A.)
The man then woke up sweating. In dirty clothes that looked like it was a potato bag that was stolen. He was remembering those things again. He remembered the horrible things. Then he remembered the two, her daughter and her divorced wife.
He then jolted up and left the rag where he was sleeping on. He then went outside and left the building, which looked like a hut, where he was sleeping. He was near a swamp and a mountain range. A small pond was near him with frogs and other insects. He had a small farm which was enough to feed him. He was in a remote place where a few can find him.
He then readied up for the day. Getting his suit....for business, which consisted of a black coat and a weird mask but not putting it on his head. And readying for today but without making a little visit first. It had been a long three months when he hadn't visited...or stalked them.
It had been a long walk of about 20km to the forest near the farm. He felt guilty for leaving his wife and his daughter though it was for their own good. Who would have wanted a drunk, a criminal, and a killer as a father?
As he neared the forest he saw smoke rising and it was big. It was probably the city of Dundee to the left of the river bank. Then realization struck his eyes. He then ran as far as he can until his legs gave in but that was not that day.
He reached the end of the forest to see the wooden building and what he saw...
...
...
A destroyed building with a woman bleeding in the fields.
'No no no no' he thought, running to the fields. As he reached the fields he tried helping her, she was still alive but the wound was fatal. A spear to the stomach.
"Hey...Hey...Hey" he said as he tried to make her concentrate on him.
"Ben?" she said weakly, recognizing his voice.
"Yes...It's me...It's me Roselle....I-I've changed" he said, trying not to cry.
"Sh-she ran t-t-o the forest...She's safe..."
"What?" Ben asked.
"I...know....you've been watching...us" Ben was shocked by what she said. Tears were now swelling in his eyes.
"I'm sorry....I'll find her...I'll save you...I-I-I'll save you and give you a better life a-" he was stopped by Roselle who put one of her fingers on his mouth.

"You may...have given me...a horrible....life....but now...give her....a better life...."
"I-I'm sorry...for the things I've done, I wasn't there for both of you when and all of this happened. I'm sorry I wasn't here to live with you." he said, now sobbing.
"Even when...you left...I wanted to...hate you...but I couldn't.....Even if I tried to forget you...hate you...You were still on my mind...I could even see...see her in you..."
"I hated that I left you, but that was because I would have become a horrible father and I thought you would hate me. But that was a mistake, a mistake I hated...so forgive me, for everything horrible I've done..." he said, closing his eyes then opening it.
"I've...forgiven...you when...you left...Ben...?" she asked,
"What is it, my love?"
"When you left...I wanted you to come back....I didn't marry anyone else.....cause I loved you...always...." She said with her dying breath. Devastated he screamed at the top of his lungs. He could be heard even in the city.
'She loved me, even though....' He thought. He was crying, his hands were shaking rapidly, his face was filled with tears, then he looked at the burning city from afar. His sad face was gone as his eyes flared with anger and revenge. He grabbed his mask and put it on, and put on the hood of the dark cloak, then looked at the now dead corpse. "For you" his voice was muffled, then rats and green fire came out of nowhere and surrounded him, making him disappear.
--------------------------------------------
The City of Dundee was being ransacked, by orcs and trolls. People were being murdered left and right with no mercy. The garrison only seemed to delay their advance. Although there was no sin there they were still powerful.
The one place that was left standing was the keep where the civilians and soldiers were. The enemy prepared the trolls to be the final blow but they were stopped In the way by green flame and rats. Once the smoke and rats cleared, a man showed up with a mask the shape of a bird beak and dark clothes all around, and knives in both his hands. The orcs and trolls readied to attack the man and thought that it was too easy. But when they did, they would regret it.
"fluctus flamma" he said, then his hands were engulfed in green flames.
*SHWOOOM
He let out a wave of fire that hit the orcs, and when they looked to the origin of it, he was gone, and suddenly he was behind them.
*STAB STRIKE STAB
Left and right he killed the orcs, even the rats were helping him, engulfing the orcs and they were eating them. The man was R, the master of Fire and Rats. R then dropped the knives and put both his hands together to the ground and said
"flamma maximum" Then huge waves of fire surrounded the city and the attackers. Some tried to escape only to quickly melt when meeting the flame surrounding them. They were doomed and left to the fate of an angry man. The once funny and jokester man was now serious, dedicated, and angry. Rats engulfed many as they ate the soldiers and they were fireproof.
"mures inclusi essent ignis" he said, then the rats were now swallowed in fire but still alive, but the orcs and trolls were being scorched. He then continued his killing spree using his hands that were on fire. One touch can kill people with their faces melting off, blood oozing down and their skulls and organs melting as well. It was a sight that was disgusting.

The city block that was near R was scorched with nothing left but ashes. Orcs that surrounded the place near them were now dead. About a quarter of the army was gone. R, still angry, looked all over the city but....they were gone.
"Well....well.....well" someone said. a man with long white hair, a slender look and 6 feet tall.
"What are you doing here?" R asked. And with that, the man began changing, flakes of skin peeling, and fire raging on his body. Wrath.
"Let me give you an advice..." he said with a menacing voice, and now fully transformed. "Grief....leads to anger.....anger leads....to power.....power leads to madness...and madness...leads....to death" Wrath's words, cold as he charged at him. He succeeded in doing so, making R go through buildings.
Coming out of the debris, R lit his hands on fire and charged Wrath, zooming through the air and successfully hitting him with a flurry of kicks and punches. It was powerful, but not powerful enough to defeat Wrath.
10%
With his flail in his right hand, Wrath attacked R with it by smashing the ground and causing shockwaves. But R jumped out of the way and now in the air, his right leg now aimed to kick Wrath in the face but missed as Wrath sidestepped to the left. Then Wrath threw a left punch to R's face making R fly through more rubble.
18%
Making R more angry, R lit his hands on green fire and said "penetrabilior flamma". Then a small group of dagger like flames came out and flew straight at Wrath, which made Wrath dodge to the right successfully but that was a distraction which R then blasted out of the rubble senselessly and punched Wrath in the chin with his right hand, making him skid a few feet away.
34%
Wrath now angry made his flail burn. Then he used the flail to strike R but he backed away. But when the flail hit the ground, the force was hard enough to make a medium shockwave causing him to stumble.
45%
R chuckled maniacally, "Is that all? The great Wrath being weak?" making Wrath much more angrier he took the chance standing up and, "Rat ignis Dei" he said. Then a flurry of rats came near him and started forming something big. As the transformation ended the thing looked like a monster. Then without haste they ignited on fire as it ran towards Wrath. Smashing through buildings it started with a left hook to Wrath but he crossed his arms to block it. The result was a huge fiery shockwave and Wrath skidding a few feet.
60%
Wrath swung his flail all around hitting the thing with fury, but as he hit a part and the rats fell and died more would take their place. And they were fireproof as well. Wrath's right foot then ignited with fire and stomped the ground making everything shake. A ravine then formed in front of the thing making it fall. Wrath grinned as he charged R punching his gut In the process and was sent flying through more debris.
65%
R now with a broken mask, a bleeding nose and head. Gritting his bloodied teeth takes a deep breath and shouts on the top of his lungs. "BBBOOOOOOGGG!!!" he shouted, the ground then shook once more and in the dust that came, laid a now 30-feet bipedal wolf. "AWWOOOOO!!"
72%
Bog now there, his teeth showing, and a face that read anger.
With Bog at behind him and R at his front he was outnumbered. But....
...
...
*BAM
Something fell from the sky, or rather someone. His 6-meter body was covered with blood, soot, and fire. Both of his hands were covered in a dark gold colored gauntlet, his face covered by a helmet. The third most powerful sin...
...
Envy.
"What took you long?" Wrath asked looking at Envy
"Busy killing some reinforcements...I heard Pride died" Envy said.
"I felt it as well many months ago...Unity magic was used..." Wrath then looked back towards R
"You take the wolf." Wrath informed Envy.
"With pleasure" Envy replied menacingly. Then the four fighters clashed.
------------------With Wrath and R
As the two clashed, R was definitely showing weakness with his injuries but he fought hard. R slit Wrath's body everywhere with his knife. As he did Wrath took hold of R and slammed him through the ground. With a flurry of hits taken by R, he raised his left towards Wrath and mumbled "ignis.....genesis" Then a full force blast of fire came, engulfing Wrath and the sky above him with green fire. It could be seen all across the kingdoms as well as the Vesimehed.
80%
At the end of the spell, R's left hand was gone, burnt by his own spell. But Wrath.....Wrath was weakened alright, but even though he was weakened he could still fight.
"What a powerful spell." He said. R was laying on some rocks clearly resting. Wrath then prepared to swing his flail at him until...
-----------------With Bog and Envy/Five minutes earlier
As the two clashed, Envy started with a left hook to Bog's face. But Bog stepped to the right making Envy vulnerable and as soon as it happened Bog bashed Envy, moving him around and throwing him in the rubble. Envy then stood back up and smashed the ground making it shake but it just made spikes come out near Bog. One hit him at his right arm piercing his skin making Bog screech.
Envy then charged at Bog and punched him in the face making him skid a few feet and crash through buildings.
As Bog got back up he growled and charged Envy. With his sharp claws he clawed Envy left and right until he successfully hit Envy once in the stomach. Bog then charged him head on and made him hit debris.
As Envy was being dragged he used his strength and hit Bog with a left punch to his right arm making him stop and grunt in pain.
Envy then took some step backwards and took a fighting stance until...
----------------------Now
A blinding light shunned upon the four fighters. As the shining light weakened and stopped it was revealed to be the works of Jboluick.
"wha...what are you doing here?" R asked weakly and groaning in pain.
"I'm here...to save old students" Jboluick announced walking near R. But as Wrath charged, Jboluick was prepared and said, "et subcinctus" and the ground shifted and some chunks of the earth rose forming a defensive circle around R and Jboluick, making a maze like place. Jboluick then said "putro" and the earth surrounding Jboluick and R crumbled to Wrath.
87%
Wrath heaved his flail and struck Jboluick but he stepped to the left and went around Wrath saying " fulgur stantibus celsior" and lightning struck Jboluick, but a second later, a giant being of light came. The titan then upper-cut Wrath, making him fly out of the city. He then looked towards Envy, with no hesitation, he struck Envy with lightning making him go through the ground for about 49 meters.
95%
Going back to his human form Jboluick walked towards Bog which Bog responded by shrinking his size back to his normal form. "Sorry.....master..." Bog solemnly apologized.
"No need, Bog. You were just here to save your acquaintance." Jboluick replied before turning and walking towards R now standing up. "You on the other hand....are reckless"
"I'm sorry, master" R said with sorrow.
"You were blinded by rage...blinded by grief and sadness. And now look around you, what do you see?" R looked around him and saw burning buildings, destroyed ones, and broken castle walls. "Although the civilians retreated while you were fighting, it still doesn't change the fact that you were reckless to take on Wrath!" Jboluick exclaimed.
"I-I'm sorry..." R stood there in silence and looked at the ground. "She was the love of my life."
"She was, now you will have to leave your guilt behind and move on to accept her death." Jboluick said,
R looked then looked at Jboluick, "Can I ask you a favor?"

Who Fixes Books Anyway?
On the pretense of a raise, the relatively new employee Pernie is called in to talk with her superiors. NOTE: This is a short story written for a class I took recently. As a result of deadlines, it does not possess the quality (or length) that I would like and is rather thrunkated. Perhaps sometime far in the furture I'll fix it up. For now, I have much more important things to work on, such as my other fiction.
