《Re:Hammer - The Hammering》Chapter 4

It was the morning! Emia gave her morning prayer to the Emperor - feeling a little redundant since morning prayer was in ten minutes with everyone, but she had a schedule to her day and damned if she broke it because of logic - and dressed herself. Slotting a tail through the hole was a trick, but she had mastered the trick after many years of work with her parents, and it came through easy enough. After the dressing, she headed with the rest to the main hall. It was the biggest room, and at the front was a large golden statue of the Saint Celestine. The greatest - or at least most recognized - Living Saint of the Imperium, the very statue made Emia gush with delight. She had only seen pictures in books, but to stand before the statue itself was amazing…
Standing in the way of people getting to their seats was not a great idea, however, and she got nudged and jostled as people pushed past her, so she simply took a seat and waited for the priest. The hall filled up, and then the priestess - a beautiful one as well, incredibly alluring to the point Emia couldn’t help but blush to look at her - took to the stand and smiled to the people.
“Good morning. I am Mother Superior Teliandra. I welcome the new novices to our lovely home. Here, in the light of the Emperor, we seek to understand his will through prayer and intimacy. The Master of Mankind, the Lord of Progenity, it is here that we hope he will shine his enlightenment on us all.. While this world is not one that truly respects us today, we shall work towards bringing in people one at a time if need be, until every being can bathe in The Emperor’s Glory. Every novice has been assigned a superior to oversee them and induct them fully into the sisterhood. They will find you over the next few days and give you the aid required to lead you upwards. I look forward to many people joining us as Brothers and Sisters of the Convent. Now, let us pray”

The woman had rapt attention of the audience, awed into total silence as Teliandra gave her speech. There seemed to be some serious focus from Teliandra on how she was speaking, as if each word was counted towards some unseen goal. And after she was finished, she simply bowed and left the stage, giving the hymnals to a younger man. The communal choir was all Emia could have hoped it was, and having been stunned by Teliandra, Emia got pulled into the flow of the song, feeling the deep heat of faith in her heart. Tears stung her eyes as she felt a feeling of belonging. Having only just arrived, it was strange to feel it so quickly, but she knew it was here that she belonged. Here, she could serve The Emperor in all things.
After the morning prayer, Emia was inspired and had a fire burning in her heart, so the chores did not take long at all, being ploughed through with zealous passion. Which, had the slight problem of leaving her with nearly an entire day left to do nothing with. It took her a few minutes of milling about place before heading to the library and indulging in books. Though she was shocked with what she found. The Sisters of Resplendent Glory knew that as the Father of Mankind, The Emperor was the ancestor of all humans, and so to engage in sexual activity was to honour him. To become pregnant from this activity was a blessing from The Emperor. After reading that, Emia closed the book, put it down, and stared into the distance, her face flushed with a deep red colour. If it was for The Emperor, she would honour him in all ways she could, but it was embarrassing to think of. Her first time hadn’t happened yet. What if she messed it up and disgraced The Emperor?

“Diligence is a holy trait. One needs but look at you to know your faith perhaps, but still” the voice of the Mother Superior behind her made Emia jump, her tail fur standing on end as she nearly fell out of the chair, and then got out of it properly and looked round. Listening to her was certainly a weird thing. Every sentence seemed focused and slower than usual for that focus.
“M-m-m-moth-” Emia stuttering was cut off by the Mother Superior’s finger on Emia’s lips.
“You are radiant, dear. To all of those those holding the Emperor in their heart, you glow with the fires of faith. Such faith must not be squandered or used in a poor way. I came to see you since you stood out to me this morning, and seeing you here and now just reinforces me belief in the fact that you, are important to us” Teliandra would then take Emia’s hands in her own, and plant a gentle kiss on the Lupine’s lips. The deep red flush of Emia grew to be as bright as the sun at this. It wasn’t a big kiss or a passionate one, but there was definite feelings to it, added many times over being from the Mother Superior. Her brain could not work in these conditions! She demanded to see her manager!
“Thankyoumothersuperiorihavetogonowtherearethingstodo!” A yammered statement was quickly followed by a fleeing Emia, out of the library and anywhere else. Teliandra giggled slightly and bit her lip. This one was most faithful, and most cute. She would be perfect.

Blinded by the dream of immortality, the researchers push the tests to inhumane standards. What was supposed to be a new beginning in life turns into living hell. An (un)lucky twist ends his life. John then reincarnates with his AI in a new world where a System influences the interaction between Magic and Matter. With seemingly limitless potential and a game-like system influencing the world, the hero sets on his journey. --AUTHOR NOTE, PLEASE READ-- I will state here my promises to you, potential reader: 1. No harem! I don't trust myself to make a harem feel natural or healthy, I never met any person who has a personality that can adapt and live in a harem for reasons that are not monetary, so I can't draw inspiration from real life. Sorry!; 2. The enemies will not be bland and illogically mean. Some may feel like that at first, but I will take great care in fleshing them out, trust me. You may end up hating some, but you won't be able to deny that they had their reasons for what they did; 3. I am using a paid (and expensive) automated editor tool, and I take longer to write because I take my time in editing the stuff. I am aiming to improve and I will not shy away from constructive criticism, nor take offense for no reason; 4. Characters will die and will suffer, some will get over the tragedies and improve, others will not be as resilient. 5. This novel has a lot of ground to cover, it is neither a short story, a manual on crafting, or the script of some action scene. There will be both time skips and oversimplifications of some actions for the sake of moving the story forward. Time skips will be more prominent in the first 30 chapters. I will describe crafting processes and fights with more detail if they are essential for the chapter; 6. If I took my time describing something, it's because it is important. I hate novels that waste time describing useless stuff. If you skim over something, the chances are that something in the future will not make sense. I am an adept of "Chekhov's gun" principle; 7. I already have 31k words on my auxiliary documents, I have a plan for the story, and I will not be making changes even if someone ends up noticing some foreshadowing and figures out what will happen. The story comes first. 8. I have a wife, a job that demands 9h every day and courses related to my job (lawyer) three days of the week, it's unlikely that I will be able to do mass releases at all. I will have a healthy amount of chapters to be able to post at least 1 chapter every day continually. Don't worry. 9. I will read all the comments. I will listen to all you have to say and will try my best to accommodate demands as long as they do not hamper the path I prepared. 10. There is an arc that spans the entire novel. Each volume will be an arc in itself while progressing a little bit of the main arc. Every arc will have one or more main antagonists. I think that's it! Thank you for reading it all. Have an awesome time reading my first novel!!

The Third Spire
It has been decades since the Wizardly Order rose and helped the Realm to banish the monstruos Elfey from its lands by building the Five Spires. The kingdom has prospered greatly in the time since, advancing both in the magical arts and the more mundane technology. The Wizards have grown too, gaining influence and spreading throught the Realm, Wizards' Towers dotting the landscape on many regions. But as the Realm grows and starts looking beyond its borders, the Wizards are faced with one insidious enemy inside its own borders. Master Garner, a wizard in the scarcely populated far West of the Realm, feels the situation getting out of hand, and a violent purge forces him out of his beloved Tower. The wizard takes his apprentices and allies in search of uncertain safety in the Third Spire. Some sources of inspiration for this story, for variable reasons: Riyria Chronicles, The Wandering Inn, Gentleman Bastard series. Note: First dedicated attempt at writing. I'm looking for feedback, and I will appreciate if you point out any mistakes. Updates: Tuesday, and every other Thursday, as life allows it.
