《Re:Hammer - The Hammering》Chapter 19

Last time she went into this dungeon, she was caught off guard by the realism, the immediate combat, and was under equipped to boot. This time, none of those were true, and she would make sure to actually win. Using the item and getting into the place, she immediately dashed for cover and drew her bolt pistols, peeking out and having an autogun bullet glance off her helmet. Ok, these guys were, at the very least, ready for a fight. And it seemed being shot at directly was no less nerve wracking for wearing armour. The combat encounter just gone was a fast blitz over unprepared conscripts with heavy backing. This time, she was on her own.
Giving them a few seconds to move close to her, Emia lept into the air and gunned the flight packs, soaring off to the left and twisting as she did to face the enemy while flying. It seemed to have a great effect on them as they looked to the sky and made exclamations none too happy at the aerial capabilities of their target. From the bird’s eye view of the situation, she saw a dozen men in very little armour carrying autoguns. Only one of them seemed competent and his armour was poorly maintained flak. Not a great challenge for Emia’s current state, but definitely enough to kill an unprepared person without armour.
Squeezing off a few rounds into their midsts as she landed on a nearby rooftop, she rolled from the speed of her landing, and then regained her footing and returned to the ledge, spraying a few more bolts down onto the scattering foe. This time, it was them that didn’t last long, and the last guy’s head popped off with a splat. She got a popup then, telling her she got 750+150 - why the plus, she didn’t know - gold and that the dungeon was over.

From there, she found herself pretty...enthusiastic. There was little point going into a C-rank, even with exponential increases she’d still be capable of taking them down pretty simply. Though the B-ranks were expensive to buy and she didn’t have that much money. Or, any really. That 900 was the first bit of money she had gotten and the B-ranks were some 3000 a piece. Maybe she should run a C-rank? They would get her more money….
Eventually the decision came to buy a C-rank for 800, and use it. Delivered immediately into a larger cityscape than the one before, there were no immediately evident enemies, and so she jetted to the rooftops and brought out her Longlas. From this vantage point, she could see an enemy camp. These people were much better equipped, which wasn’t saying a lot given the underhive level of the previous lot. They were mostly traitor guardsmen with one mutated Chaos Worshipper who was clearly in charge. Between the markings and the too-realistic people in the cages, they were pretty clearly Slaaneshi. Which was great, every one of them she killed was revenge against Teliandra. A torment against the disgusting creature within her soul.
Lining up the shot for the mutant, she clicked the hotshot on, and then fired off the round. The flash of light was too quick and too bright to track back to its origin point, so it blew the thing’s head clean off. She had expected just a neat little hole, but the rapid boiling of water had created steam pressure that caused the whole thing to explode. These lasguns were much more dangerous than they appeared at first glance...But, at the same time, she had overshot. She didn’t really need to turn on the hotshot, but that was just to make sure the creature died. Only, now her sniper was out of ammo and she didn’t have a reload on her right now.

Tsking to herself, she put the rifle away and drew the bolt pistols, leaping off the roof and soaring down into the streets, gliding along like a beautiful angel of death. She then rose in altitude and swept through the camp, a bombing run of epic proportions as her bolts fired off and met the enemy. Between the sudden death - and the system-assisted morale damage - of their leader and some flying metal creature blowing away more, the camp scattered to the winds, and was easy pickings for her to kill off in small groups. This suit was fantastic, she absolutely loved the thing. Emperor above, Muddy was getting a kiss when she next saw her.
Success led her to get a fair bit more money. Cleanly enough to get a B-rank key and have a fair amount of change left. Not that that was something she was going to do. Fatigue was building up and didn’t seem to reset during dungeons. Rather than risk it, she went about her day, praying to The Emperor, helping with the catering, getting to wear a cute apron over her robes while she did, and administering words of assistance to the guardsmen that came up to her. Maybe she smitted a few hearts on the way, but that was just what she was there for. The men would fight hard for such feelings. As the day drew to a close, more troop transports were pulling in, and the night watch was preparing to keep guard. Emia herself, was tired and went to her barracks-tent, content with herself and the deeds done today. The Emperor was truly smiling within her today.

Unbelievers
Not my story - written by isthatyoularry on Ao3Summary:It's Louis' senior year, and he's dead set on doing it right. However, along with his pair of cleats, a healthy dose of sarcasm and his ridiculous best friend, he's also got a complicated family, a terrifyingly uncertain future, and a mortal enemy making his life just that much worse. Mortal enemies "with benefits" was not exactly the plan.Or: The one where Louis and Harry definitely aren't friends, and football is everything.Disclaimer: None of this is real. Nothing in this is meant to imply anything, nor does this reflect my personal beliefs about anything or anyone. This is fiction.
