《The Royal Mage》Chapter Twenty^

The woman stood up and began to walk out the room before turning around and smiling at them "so sorry it seems I was so caught up with the Arch Mage that I forgot my manners, my name is a secret and what is your's?" she asked clasping her hands as she tilted her head in wait for Rime and Cyra to answer who quickly stated there names. "What wonderful names you have, strong names indeed."
They nodded in thanks and the woman watched them with a smile before turning around once again and heading out the door, the walked back into the library and the woman pointed around "obviously this is the library, it's filled with the original copies of every book ever created. From children stories to books about those who sit above us, it has everything and you don't even have to look for it, if you know the name of the book say it loudly and it will come to you."
The woman demonstrated and then sent the book back before leading them through the same door they had went through to get to the room with a sitting area but instead when they went through they were standing in a large kitchen. "Do the two of you realize what just happened?" she asked with an arched brow and both Rime and Cyra nodded "good that is how every door in my Gothic castle works, every door can lead to anywhere you just picture where you want to go and turn the handle and there you are. It also works if you need to find me, picture me in your head and you'll appear wherever I am except for if I'm in the toilet."
Cyra giggled at that joke and the woman smiled before she waved her hand around the kitchen "okay so this is the kitchen, but unlike the others that rely on a being to cook at it for it to produce anything, this one doesn't do that. "Just stand right here and asked for what you want the kitchen will come to life, here's an example, today I think I'll have banana split."
Rime watched as the ice box opened three small tubs of ice cream floated out and landed on the counter, then came a container of cherries, a single banana and finally berry syrup. It wasn't long before the ingredients came together and the bowl came floating into The woman's hand, she collected it with a smile and said thank you before turning to Cyra "and this is for you little one." Cyra collected the bowl with a wide smile on her face.
They went through the kitchen door and came out in the bathroom that was just as big as the one in the school dormitory "your standard shower, just use it how you used the other's you've been in before." They went out the door and came through a door that lead them to the roof of the castle that was set up like a cute cafe. "Come here whenever you like after your studies are complete and relax, the kitchen in the cafe is just like the main one except it only cooks what's shown on the menu that day."

They went through the door and came out in an overly large bedroom, it had two large beds that were covered in white silk sheets, and black and white pillows. In between that was a small sitting area, across from each bed held a large closet, braced to the left wall was a large desk with two chairs pushed in and running over it was three shelves. There were floating lamps in the room that were just a bit smaller than the ones in the other rooms.
On the right wall were windows that looked out at the lake and Rime noticed that one of the windows was actually a door that lead out onto the balcony that also held another sitting area. The walls were painted black with gold trimmings and gold leaf designs that ran all along it "while we were going around the castle I had the room make itself and it has done a wonderful job don't you think?" she looked at Rime and Cyra who nodded.
"Okay well it is time to return to the library and you children can tell me how far you've gotten in your studies." they followed her out the door and walked into the library. Rime pulled out one of his notebooks that also worked as a planner and handed it over to her, she flipped it open and started reading as she walked around the room while Cyra found herself in a small couch and began to est the treat she had been given.
Rime set all of his books down and went to one of the shelves calling a name for a book that floated down from the other shelf and landed on one of the tables, he went over and picked it up and went to sit next to Cyra who offered him a bite and he took it. He sat back and began to flip through the pages until he found where he had left off when he was at the Royal Palace.
The place had gone silent as Cyra finished her bowl and moved to go get a book for herself, one of the children's books that the woman had spoke of. She took her place back next to Rime and started her reading mumbling just a little to keep track of where she was. Rime didn't mind it too much because it let him know that she was sitting right next to him and hadn't run off to god knows where and also comforted him in the fact that even though she was going through the same training as him she somehow still remained a child.
"Okay Children, I was able to come up with a study plan for you but it seems we have less time than I thought. Apparently the two of you would be graduating in a year and that means that you have your exams coming up very soon so I need to move fast." The woman spoke as she walked towards them and handed Rime back his planner "We have four years of studies to cover because the test that they give you will pull different things from each year and test you on it and I don't want you to just pass the test I want you to dominate it, no matter if you have three times as much as the other students."

She signaled for them to follow as she made her way to the door and they jumped off the couches going after her leaving the books to return to their rightful places. They stood at the door and the woman turned around to face them "okay I'm about to take you somewhere that is not here and isn't exactly anywhere. It is frozen but not cold and will not move even though it is not old, time does not flow here for no time exist here. And I will give you only one warning, do not ever enter this room without my permission or me knowing, because you will not be able to leave without me and if I don't know you are here you will be stuck and time will flow right past you, okay?"
The stern tone her voice carried made Rime and Cyra nod quickly and she nodded in response before turning to face the door. She rubbed her hands together and took the handle with both hands, her eyes closed in and she whispered something. Rime and Cyra watched with wide eyes as the singled door broke into too with a loud bang and she quickly pulled the door open, she ushered them in and then went behind them letting the door slam back in.
The dark room they had been standing in came to life and when Rime looked up instead of seeing a lamp he saw what looked like the sun, but it wasn't hot or burning his eyes it just simply provided light. On closer inspection Rime saw that they had a giant glass dome surrounding them. He looked around the dome and found that it was set up just like the library they had just been standing in except the books were floating and there wasn't a shred of gold in the room.
As the woman walked forward a wall appeared across from her and on it a blackboard, a stand for her to stand on appeared and on it was a desk and chair. On the lower floor two desk and chairs appeared on either side two bookshelves appeared and they carried writing materials. The chairs pushed themselves open and Cyra and Rime quickly made their way over and took a seat before the chairs re-positioned themselves.
Writing ink, a notebook and a pen floated to each desk and a box of chalk floated to where the woman was standing and she took a single piece out before the box went back and she turned to face Rime and Cyra.
"First lesson, the discovery of the four main elements." She turned and started writing on the board "It is said that the four elements were first discovered by the beast people because there god decided to give them something that would make them less animal like and that children is utter bullshit." Rime arched his brow and Cyra just giggled at the woman's use of language "that's right child the beast men were actually one of the last set of beings to discover their abilities to control the elements, followed by the elves and then us humans."
"The first to discover the elements were actually the Dwarven people." She turned and signaled for Rime and Cyra to write before turning back. "Now it is known to everyone that the Dwarves are the first alchemist ever, the little bastards love to create and fiddle with everything they see, their actually quite childlike. The reason I say this is because children of any being are just naturally curious and when they really want to find out about one of their curiosities they will run little test and then they will come to a conclusion about the thing. They will either lose interest in it or become even more curious about it and fiddle with it until they no longer can.
"And the short little bastards are just like them, that would explain the height but I wouldn't be surprised if their god is a short little shit that just wanted someone that looked just like him." she shrugged "okay now a few people will say that everything I just said is wrong and I will just say that I am never wrong so they can kiss my ass. But the reason they will say this is because they think the dragons are the first to discover their ability to use the four elements and that is just plain wrong.
"First of all the Dragons can't use all the elements they can only use one and secondly they didn't discover it because they were literally born with it. While for any other being our magic grows in us over time depending on our environment or the parents we have, as example you Rime are a very special case that only happened because of your parents otherwise you would have just been a fire caster or one of those other stuff.
"And just one little note there are only two original elements, but they aren't really considered elements and that is light and dark, the first two things ever in existence. You can try and find out which came first but just know that there cannot be one without the other, it's like that whole chicken and egg bullshit that I hear people still going on about and I will tell you now I don't care as long as at the end of the day I get to eat the chicken."

The Rowan Fox, Tail 1: The Missing Children
Deep in the Maple Woods sits a mountain of old. Humans have claimed it and today a city called Redlog covers it from peak to foot. Meet Josei, one of many medicine makers living in the city of red roofs. Hers is the start of many tales, home to a very special fox. Like foxes often do, this one finds himself plenty of trouble. (Thought I would be gone forever did you? I'm back again! This time with a book that actually has an ending. I know because I've written it. I will be editing each chapter then releasing it here as they're done, probably once or twice a week. It's a shorter tale than what I've written before but that was the goal from the start. I really need to learn how to finish a story so this was a big accomplishment for me. I'll be writing The Rowan Fox in several parts instead, short but hopefully sweet.) (This story is a combination of some of my favorite things: folktales, foxes, ancient forests, and feel good slice of life. I hope you like it!)

As an author, I'd like to interact with my community and get ideas and what I can improve on. I'm not perfect and don't expect a masterpiece. I may have a bit of experience writing as a hobby, I make mistakes and my style is a bit rough around the edges. I hope you stick around and watch me build this story up. I don't have a predetermined schedule and the releases will be slow. Since I got college, my schedule is most likely 1-2 chapters a month but that shouldn't be that bad since I get some time to think about what I can write in the story. Again, my apologies for that. I hope I have your support moving forward and that you enjoy the characters and their journies.
