《My Little Husky Assistant》Chapter 27: All for One and One for All

"We have seen the epic battle in the previous games; a battle between a weapon user and the ruler of sky, and a battle between a sea serpent and the imagination," stated the aforementioned emcee on his small stage.
Once again, the battle arena filled up with a loud and rasp roar yet a descant choir. The undulating movement of tiny humans and props being waved on the grandstand made the event get more merrier. The obtrusive emcee waved his arms up and down, showing the crowd to cheer more loud, hitting his eardrums sharply. He covered his ears with the tip of his index fingers as the choir got louder and louder. He leant his retro microphone and began to speak.
"Foooooooorrrrr thheeeeeeeee thiiiiiirrrd gaaaaaaame!!" He yelled lengthyly with a pose looking at the sky, "the final game and the very first game which fit the words 'all for one and one for all'. Behold-"
The emcee spreaded his arm and aimed its tip at a moving figure from the mouth of the entrance. A lion-man proudly sashayed while waving his arms to the air, outcasting himself from the shadow. Hayabusa grinned, showing off his large sharp teeth. He paused and put his hands down as he saw a man in white coat standing on the heptagon, holding a bazooka in his arms.
"Nantokka! Even before Kaginuki Hayabusa-dono could reach the battle arena, his opponent arrived earlier without an alarm!! What an amazing surprise! Ruthbert Ali Khan, the Science Sentinel and the mystery behind his arrival remains unknown!" The emcee exclaimed in disbelief.
Hayabusa glared at Ruthbert who sneered with an evil grin as he walked along the brick aisle. He stomped his feet and his body kept moving forward without stopping. He stood closer to Ruthbert and glared right in front of his face and snarled with a deep and hoarse lion's growl. Ruthbert glared at him with a face full of revision and repugnance as Hayabusa's forehead touched his forehead.
"Look at the sentinels, they truly wish to perish each other. With those cold looks drawn on their faces, we sure they want to fight each other but! Another sentinel will join the party!" the emcee slurped tea from the porcelain cup, "have a cup of tea."
A young teenage girl came out from the entrance and walked on the aisle with her wooden staff bouncing beside her. Her sleazy eyes glared at the two adult men without a single vengeance noted in her heart; she had no intention to fight in the battle of three. The emcee threw her porcelain cup away and picked up his microphone.

"We have the Mage Sentinel, Victoria Chelsea Rothschild as the third party! Surprise!" The emcee shook his hands with a jazz-hand pose. "What could this be? A battle of three? A dual battle? Or even a battle royale between the three sentinels!? One for all and all for o-"
The emcee shrieked with a high-pitched voice as a small explosion occurred underneath his feet. Ruthbert grinned, showing off his shimmering white teeth and his eyes widened with satisfaction. Victoria, who had arrived at the heptagon, shook her head over his stupidity. The emcee proceeded his main role with sweats trickling on his cheek.
"Ruthbert-dono, how much you enjoy bullying this speaker!" The emcee confessed while smiling nervously.
Ruthbert rested his bazooka on his shoulder and stood still. The three sentinels formed an equilateral triangle with one metre gap in between their distances. Each of them showed fervid expressions on their faces, cold eyes glaring at each other and stiffly standing, ready for the battle of three. Victoria yawned and stared at them with her sleazy eyes.
"Hah?! This can't be!! A battle of three!! It never happened before!!" Nobara screamed in the infirmary as she watched the vivid holographic large screen projected from a shiny black cuboid.
"What does that supposed to mean, Nobara-sama?" Yuu asked and plucked one of the grapes from the bunch and fed it to Nobara.
"You see-" she chewed the grape and swallowed it. "I attended the Sentinel's Game thrice already and the winning sentinel, for an example, me, I defeated Adalbert and for the next game, I'll have a battle with the higher rank sentinel, Era and if I win, I'll fight Benditto and it goes that way but this!! Absurd! What was the top thinking!"
Yuu smiled nervously and turned his head to the large holographic screen. He plucked another grape from its bunch and fed it to Nobara. She glared at the screen with an intense repugnance.
"Now," the emcee looked at the floating crosier and waited for it to glow.
The head of the crosier glowed and burnt with a royal blue flame.
"Soredewa, let the game begin!!" Screamed the emcee.
Victoria surprisingly vanished from the heptagon a few millisecond after the emcee announced the opening of the game. Within that range of time, Ruthbert launched his bazooka at Hayabusa, sending him off further from the heptagon. Hayabusa laid on the ground and stood weakly. He stretched his body and the cracking sound of his backbone could be heard echoing.

"What just happened? Smoky Hayabusa was sent off and where on earth could Victoria be?! In just a few milliseconds, the battle began without an alert!!" The emcee exclaimed while feeding himself popcorn piling up in a red paper bucket.
Hayabusa bent his body and squatted while glaring at Ruthbert. He sent himself off to Ruthbert in a second from a hundred metres away, creating an explosion of smoky dust as they engaged each other. Victoria floated high up in the air while staring at the two men fighting each other on the ground. She laid on her wooden staff and crossed her arms like an Egyptian cat. She yawned and rested her head on her arms then closed her eyes.
"This is the definition of weariness," she mumbled to herself before she could sleep.
Hayabusa jumped then stomped on the ground, shaking the whole arena including the grandstand where the huge and loud crowds screamed in response to the shake. Hayabusa quickly boxed the air instead as Ruthbert dodged most of his punches. Ruthbert smirked then immediately ducked. Hayabusa looked around, trying to search for him who suddenly vanished from his sight.
"I'm here," Ruthbert appeared from his back.
He tickled his body with satisfaction that he burst out laughing with tears spraying from his predator-like eyes. He couldn't control himself from laughing loudly as the tip of his fingers kept tickling his body. Ruthbert raised his hands at the par of his shoulder and Hayabusa fell weakly on the floor, breathing arduously and embracing his stomach. Ruthbert glared at him with a sadist sinister grin carved on his feminine yellow face.
He aimed his bazooka into the air and sent off a small rocket into the air. The small rocket created a vibration around its body, shaking Victoria who was currently asleep on her wooden staff. The light vibration triggered as she almost fell from her staff. She grabbed her staff and looked down with arrogant eyes at Ruthbert who was staring at her.
The launched rocket reached the highest altitude and returned back to the Earth at a very high speed. The man emcee coveted over his platform and watched the battle not until he heard a high-pitched sound getting louder and louder from above. He gazed upward and watched the rocket as it flew to him. His eyes widened and his eyeballs flew straight to the air at limited range, leaving their eye sockets. The rocket landed and exploded on him thus sending him off to the air. He climbed on his small platform and coughed.
Hayabusa sent more repetitive punches to Ruthbert even when he kept dodging the attack. Ruthbert duck to the left and pressed Hayabusa's back with the tip of his finger. He widened his eyes and fell flat on the ground; paralysed but still conscious. He snarled and growled, trying to move his numbed muscles. Ruthbert grinned.
"Paralyse, it's a technique used by the Science Sentinel to terminate the transmission of signals to the brain. His opponent will be either stunned or paralysed and so, Kaginuki-dono is unable to move any of his flexes," the emcee explained as he was intrigued.
Ruthbert rotated a button located at the side of his bazooka and stopped as a click sound could be heard. He aimed his bazooka at Victoria and launched a toxic chemical at her. She dodged it but it managed to smear the tip of her shoes, corroding its shape. She raised her feet and watched her bare toes inside the whole of her shoe. She removed her shoes from her feet and threw them to Ruthbert. He jumped and rolled to the left that the shoes hit Hayabusa's head. Hayabusa snarled and roared, shaking the whole arena as the wave of his loud roaring voices expanded. He growled and shook his head.
Victoria gripped her wooden staff tightly then hovered in the air like a witch on her broomstick. She landed her feet on Hayabusa's back and unintentionally hit his head with the base of her staff. He growled and snarled with wretch. She looked down on him and stared at Ruthbert. She opened a portal and summoned a demon with the head of a boar and the body of a hefty man with a ragged loincloth covering its private part and a huge mighty silver axe on its hands.

The story of a little necromancer who only wants to play with abominations against all that is holy dollies and her horsey, Mister Clackybones. Welcome to the novelization of one script I designed for a video game setting I call Midara (I selected the name of a genus of moths for symbolism purposes, not to be confused with anything else). Once upon a time, I dreamed of the setting being the next Final Fantasy. Long story short: Nope. Requiem itself is meant to be an Open-World RPG which adapts to the choices of the player. This is just one of many, many paths that one might follow in Requiem's gameplay, if it ever becomes a game.

[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] "You have to survive, Adam. You have to win." This is not a story starring Mary, because Mary is already dead. She bled out on her front doorstep following a sudden three-day absence. Seven years have passed, with her little brother—Adam—now standing at eighteen years of age. Following his sister's death, he lived the life of a delinquent, wandering the grimy streets of the city of Steeldale. All it amounted to was years of street fighting experience, no proper home and an uncertain future at a second-rate university. Unbeknowst to him, the day before university, he will be thrust from Steeldale into a brand new world. It is a world where a cherry red sky gazes down upon a fragmented continent, on which civilisations from other worlds have been dumped like refuse. The souls of man leak from their fingertips, coalescencing into superhuman powers and horrible fleshy monstrosities. Tribes of refugees clash against each other, attempting to carve out a place in this unrefined space. With no choice, Adam must traverse this dangerous new world, with Mary's shadow following him every step of the way. This is my entry to the April 2021 Writathon.
