Luna: Waiting? Why?
Master: It was your fathers final request.
--- Chapter 13 ---
Luna: My father? What do you mean, I- I don't understand.
Master: You father, and mother were mages in Elune.
Luna: N-no they were merchants, traders. They died in a cart accident!
Master: They were SS+ rank mages. Your father was an Elemensia of great power, with affinity for every element. And your mother, she was an excellent summoner.
Luna: No. You're wrong, they couldn't have been.
Master: They took on an SS+ mission. Your father told me if they didn't live, to aid your magical learning journey. When I heard the news, I brought you to your uncle. No child should grow up without family.
Luna: WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT!
She says with tears starting to fill her eyes.
Master: Im sorry. To this day, it is one of my biggest regrets.
Luna: I would have been better off here.
Master: I know.
Luna: … Please, tell me about them.
Master: Your father was stern, yet tender. He cared deeply for the guild, but nothing rivaled his love for his newly born Luna. And your mother was the kindest woman I ever met. She deeply cared for everyone in the guild, and even her enemy. She never hurt a soul when she didn't have to.
Luna is in tears listening to the master speak about her parents. They talked for what seemed like hours. With each sentence she learned more and more about her parents. And the truth that overshadows the lies her uncle spoke. The master had said something that shocked her.
Luna: No way, my parents were-
Master: Yes. Your parents were meant to be the next guild masters after me. The statue that's covered out there is theirs. They wanted to complete the quest before they could call themselves guild masters. But tragically they passed before receiving the title.

Luna: Thank you, master.
Master: No problem my child, if you get stronger I have something to give you, but until then, I will train you.
Lune: Ok.
Master: Now let's get going.
They return to the main hall with everyone else. Master gets up on the bar and starts a speech.
Master: ATTENTION!
Everyone stops what they are doing and looks. There's an intense vibe about him now.
Master: There was an assault on members of our guild. I take great offense to that. There was an attack on the children of our guild. I take great offense to that. Our enemy is the TENYI!
The room fills with people muttering about the Tenyi.
Master: No one will get away with harming a member of the guild, let alone our children. Zeichiel, sound out the messenger pigeons. All S rank and higher are to report home at once.
Zeichiel: Yes master. Does this include Darren sir
Master: Yes.
Zeichiel: Understood
Master: Red, Hiro, Ame. Go into the mountains, and retrieve Sole.
Everyone inside looks surprised by these orders. Retrieving sole, gathering the S ranks, and recalling Darren? Luna was confused by what these ment, but everyone else was in shock. The master was not messing around.
Hiro: Alrighty sir, understood.
The master gets down and everyone is in a moment of disbelief before everyone snaps back to reality. Zeichiel prepares the pigeons to retrieve all elune members. Everyone heads to bed, knowing sleep will be sparse in the near future. Luna heads into bed but after what master told her, and the events that occurred earlier, she is unable to sleep. She lies in her bed but overhears the sound of a piano, chiming softly. Luna gets out of bed, and tries to locate the sound. She tracks it down to two large double doors. She softly cracks the door open, peeking inside. In a dark circular room, with one spotlight shining on the center of the room. Under the spotlight is a grand piano, and Red is playing it. His eyes closed with his fingers gliding over the keys, creating a soft mournful tune. Luna is encapsulated by the performance, that she stands there in a space devoid of time. Waiting and watching for what feels like hours. A sleepy Ame turns the corner and sees Luna peeking in this room in awe. Ame laughs to herself and shakes her head. She turns around and goes back to bed. Reds song comes to an end, and Luna blinks out of her trance. Red gets up and opens his eyes. Luna quickly and quietly closes the door and tiptoes back to her room. The morning comes as they all awake, and head to the main room and eat. Red, Hiro and Ame prepare their things, before starting to head out.

Red: Later Luna!
Luna: B-bye.
They start to head out. The master turns to Luna.
Master: Are you ready?
Luna: Yes.

The Oresteia (Modernized)
All three of the great Greek Tragedians have written plays about the bloody chain of murder and revenge within the royal family of Argos. Yet theirs is in fact not a story of tragedy, but rather one of redemption. As they move from darkness to light, from rage to self-governance, from primitive ritual to civilized institution, their spirit of struggle and regeneration becomes an everlasting song of celebration to be heard throughout the ages. Forming a discourse set against the emergence of Athenian democracy out of a period of chaos and destruction, the Orestian plays are compelling stories of the tensions between our obligations to our families and the laws that bind us together as a society. In the beginning, we witness how a king’s decision to sacrifice his daughter and turn the tide of war inflicts lasting damage on his family, culminating in a terrible act of retribution. In the aftermath of regicide, we behold how a son must set out to avenge his father’s death by committing a most egregious sin. In the end, the sinner is tormented by supernatural powers that can never be appeased, but ultimately finds redemption and ends the curse on his house once and for all. Woven through all of this is the story of a friendship so close that it elevates itself to brotherhood - Where the blood of the covenant is shown to be indeed thicker than the water of the womb. In this very brief twelve-chapter modern rendition of the Orestian plays, I have chosen to place my focus mainly on the lives of the characters Orestes and his best friend Pylades. The chapters, each around 2000-2500 words, are split up evenly between them in first-person narrative. I hope that you will come to enjoy reading this heartwarming story, but more importantly, that you see how the conflicts portrayed in the story, whether human or institutional, are still much very relevant to our societies today. Note on Sources: The details of this story is very loosely based on The Oresteia by Aeschylus. And I mean very loosely. Other sources that I referenced for detail and inspiration are Mythology by Edith Hamilton, Electra by Sophocles, and Iphigenia in Tauris by Euripides. You may also find that I have quoted some of these works, and others (such as Shelley's Ozymondaeus), without citations (average of 1-2 such quotes per chapter). I did this because I do not have the ability to describe certain scenes nearly as well as some of those writers. If you read a particularly beautiful piece of prose here, chances are it's probably stolen lol. Also, I wrote this during the summer between my high school senior year and my college freshmen year. It was the summer of 2020, and being quarantined apparently gets my creative side out lol.

Directorate: Nationbuilding in Apocalypse
A nation is just a means of survival. Metro Manila fell within 5 months of the first report of cannibalism. Once a hyperurbanized region of 15 million inhabitants, it's been reduced to a dead, greenless shell. Most of the infected had since left to ravage the countryside. The central government was nowhere to be found. Among the survivors who clung to the few gardens and humble plots of arable land left, one of them finds evidence that the slaughter wasn't going to just end with the first wave. Without a nation and a wall of guns, everyone will die. Directorate is an original nationbuilding webnovel that focuses on the gradual rise to power of a select few individuals, and the subsequent unification of the survivors of a devastated Metro Manila. Releases targeted at every 1 to 3 weeks. If there are no chapter updates after 3 weeks, there will be a progress update. Number of releases targeted at a maximum of 100 chapters.
