Red, Hiro and Ame board Branders cart as he starts to run.
Hiro: Soooooo. What's up with you and the new girl?
Red: Luna?
Hiro nods.
Red: Nothing?
Hiro: Riiiiight.
Ame: BULL-shit!
Red: What do you MEAN!
Hiro: There's definitely something there my guy.
Red: No, there isn't.
Ame: You used your insignia to save her, knowing what happens.
Red: I would have died too, so I don't know what you mean.
Hiro: I don't know man.
Red: Lets just, stop talking about this. Ok? We have more important matters.
Hiro and Ame look at eachother and crack a smile, then look back.
Hiro and Ame: Fine.
Some time passes as they are heading to the mountains.
Red: We haven't seen Sole in what, 2 years?
Hiro: Yah, about that. I wonder how big bro is doing.
Ame: With Master Aibek teaching him, he's probably much stronger than before. I wonder if he can control his power now.
Hiro: He's probably still stronger than you.
Ame: Hey now, I'm S-class, he's only A.
Red: Buuut he got A class before you, and you got S-class while he was gone.
Ame: Ok listen here you two!
They collectively laugh, as Brander starts to bring the cart up a large mountain within the forest. Hiro starts quaking, as he looks over the cart.
Ame: What's wrong with you?
Red starts laughing to himself.
Hiro: S-S-S-S-S-So H-H-High.
Red: He's scared of heights, hates them with a burning passion.
Ame: Dude, lame.
They eventually make it to the top, and on the top is a small little cott. They hop out of the cart, Hiros arm around Ame to stand, as his legs are shaking violently.
Red: HEY SOLE! GET YOUR BIG BUTT OUT HERE AND FIGHT ME.
Hiro and Ame’s jaws drop. The door opens up, and out stands a kid without a shirt. He has blonde hair, and a large green seal-like circle on his upper torso. On his left shoulder is a tattoo of a sun, and a weird looking wristwatch on his left hand. Red smirks a little, and he smirks back.

Red: Good to see you Sole.
Sole: Good to see you to buddy.
They both get in a stance and run at each other, but Sole stops and twists his body into a punch that Red runs right into, sending him flying right up to the edge. Hiro sees this and almost dies inside, his palms sweating.
Red: Damn, good punch, but can you dodge this!
Red dashes in and punches, but Sole jumps in the air and flips forward, completely dodging him, and as he's coming down, he kicks Red in the back.
Red: You’ve gotten better but you don't punch any harder.
Sole: Haha, True.
An elderly man comes out of the cott.
Sole: Oh, Master Aibek, I didn't mean to wake you.
Aibek: That is fine, but why are they here?
Sole: … Good question, why are you guys here?
Red gets up and brushes himself off.
Red: Master needs you back.
Sole: What for? It must be pretty serious.
Ame: Red and some of the other guild mates were attacked by The Tenyi, one of the shadow guilds.
Sole: Oh wow. That's bad.
Aibek: They are one of the strongest shadow guilds, alongside shadow guilds like Libra and Scourge. Sole, you must go with them. They need your power.
Sole: I understand. Then we should get going. Nighttime is prime ambush time. And if you beat a squad from a shadow guild, It won't be long before we all become a target of revenge. I will return when it's safe, Aibek.
Aibek: Good.
Sole gets in the cart with everyone else, as brander high tails it out of there.
Sole: Hey Hiro, it's been awhile. Have you been?
Hiro: J-just fine bro. Y-you?
Sole: You good?
Ame and Red: Fear of heights.
Sole: Oh right.
As the sun sets, their cart pulls into Termina. But, the story is to be told elsewhere. Within the vast desert stands a group of figures. Among them is a tall man with a lot of muscle, wearing monk clothing, with a large wooden bead necklace. His eyes closed with tears coming out, though he doesn't look sad. Another is a decent sized man with muscles and long spiky blonde hair. His eyes Red, seething with rage. There is a guy with short spiky brown hair in a lab coat wearing headphones. He's messing with knobs on the headphones. Lastly a man with a blank expression kneeled on the ground moving sand around, seemingly covering something. Bodies. He’s burying the bodies of the Tenyi Red and the others killed.

???: GOD DAMMIT!
The man with spiky hair shouts, while punching a pillar of rock, obliterating it.
???: Cool your Jets, Jet.
The man with the Labcoat says.
Jet: I. Will. NOT! Those children killed our men and were just supposed to sit and dick around?! Let them get away with disgracing our name?! I don't think so! I will murder those kids myself! Painfully…
The Tall Man: Please be courteous. This is a place of mourning.
Jet: Oh shut it Barron.
???: Both of you. Silence.
The kid with a blank expression says. Everyone seems caught off guard by him speaking, and are uneasy.
???: We have been given direct orders to not intervene. Master is already dispatching a specialized team. As Well as multiple squads to collect the resources. As it stands we are the reserves, and we will act accordingly. Do you understand?
A “Yes Sir” rings throughout the area, multiple silhouettes around the area all seemingly a part of this Squad. There is only one person that did not chime in.
???: Jet, do I make myself clear.
He says slowly turning his head to look Jet in the eye. His face is still expressionless but as he makes eye contact with Jet, he gets a cold feeling. An emptiness draining his soul. Fear. This is fear.
Jet: Y-yes sir.

The Legion of Nothing
Nick Klein is your average high school geek--if you can still count as average when your grandfather is a retired superhero, and you've been trained in the martial arts by his friend, a mysterious, immortal mercenary. After his grandfather dies, Nick inherits the last version of the Rocket suit, powered armor that allows him to shrug off bullets, smash through walls, and manipulate sound. Along with it comes the base of his grandfather's superhero team including the team's jet and trophies from forty years of fighting criminals and aliens. Together, Nick and his friends, descendants of his grandfather's teammates, attempt to bring back a superhero team that was originally formed during World War 2. Along the way they'll face the normal problems of high school (bullies, homework, and dating), and the less normal problems like supervillians and mysteries leftover from their grandparents' past. As a story, it uses the conventions of all eras of comics from the 1940s on, ranging from serious to silly. If you're hoping for a grim and gritty story, this isn't it. The Legion of Nothing first debuted on my website legionofnothing.com in 2007. In that period it's updated more than 900 times, is still running, and has had millions of pageviews. The first two years have been released as an ebook, receiving good reviews on Amazon and Goodreads. I hope you'll enjoy it, and that you'll review it and comment. You can also vote for it on Top Web Fiction and rate it on Web Fiction Guide. Member of The Order of Phantasmal Architects.

(This is my first novel, though the idea for it has been in the back of my mind for years, This is my attempt to put it to paper. Looking forward to any constructive criticism, however, i already have in mind, the entire plot and tone of the story, any revisions based on feedback will likely only be considered upon completion. As of now starting out, i haven't really settled on a timeline for regular updates But I aiming for at least two chapters a week at about 2000 words each. I will promise at least one chapter of that size at least once a week, until completion. I'm rather determined to put this story on paper ( or web page i guess).
